Hurricane Sandy Devastates Jersey Shore. Help Me Donate!

For those who have asked, I'm well, thank you. Somehow, we kept power. Trees down, but no serious flooding here. My father was not so lucky; he lives year-round in Sea Bright, NJ, a barrier island near Cape May that was essentially wiped off the map last night. High tide left a 40-foot yacht in his parking lot and enough water in his home to make it inhabitable without gutting all the drywall, insulation, electric, flooring, appliances, and possibly plumbing. The fact that it remained on its foundation makes him one of the luckier ones in that area. He won't know for a while yet if the foundation is structurally sound anymore.

Disasters on this scale are always horrific, but you never realize quite how much until one touches you personally. I want to do something. I'm not rich—heck, some months I can barely make ends meet—but right now I have an awful lot more than a lot of folks, including the residents of Sea Bright. So for the next week at least, I will donate $1 to the Red Cross for Sandy disaster relief every time someone buys one of my books. (My Riptide titles are here, my Storm Moon Press titles are here, and my Samhain and Noble titles are here and here. I'm here on Amazon, here on B&N, here on Kobo, and here on ARe.)

If you buy one of my books this week, thank you! If you want to donate directly instead or as well, thank you! Here's a great resource for how to help.

ETA (10:21 PM Oct 30): Friend and author (and occasional co-author) Cat Grant is also donating $1 per Riptide book or self-pubbed book sold this week to the Red Cross. Her Riptide listing is here, her self-pub is here at ARe, and her blog post about this is here. (Hmm, this means that if you order a Power Play book, that'll make for a $2 donation!)

ETA (10:32 PM Oct 30): The lovely Amelia C. Gormley is also joining in the donation drive. You can find details for her book here.

ETA (10:43 PM Oct 30): The amazing Abigail Roux is also joining in. Her blog post with book links is here.

ETA (10:46 PM Oct 30): The list keeps growing! Get the UNBELIEVABLY BRILLIANT Santuario and G.B. Gordon will donate $1 too! Here's GB's blog post with the deets.

ETA (11:42 PM Oct 30): You guys, you are amazing. Taylor Gibbs just joined in the donation drive as well. She has a huge backlist--go check her out!

ETA (7:14 PM Oct 31): My partner in crime Aleksandr Voinov has joined in the donation drive. His booklist is here, or you can go direct to his Riptide page here.

ETA 11:06 PM Oct 31): The fantastically talented Amara Devonte--she of the exquisite custom jewelry you've seen many authors giving out as prizes on blog tours--is joining in by donating 10% of all in-stock jewelry sales to the Red Cross this week. You can read her blog post here and see her pretty pretty shinies at her Etsy store here.

ETA 9:51 AM Nov 2): OMG U GUISE, Samhain Publishing is amazing. If you buy Break and Enter on their website and then enter coupon code REDCROSS at checkout, you'll get B&E for 40% off, and every single penny you spend will go to the Red Cross: Aleks and I are both donating 100% of our B&E royalties, and Samhain is matching our donation. Go forth and get your sexy cyberpunk fun for a mere $2.10, and see the whole $2.10 go to supporting Sandy victims.

ETA 10:06 AM Nov 2: Not a part of the $1-per-book donation drive, but MJ O'Shea and Piper Vaughn are hosting a totally awesome and exciting donation drive effort: an auction for original fiction shorts from some amazing authors, with all proceeds going to charity. You can find all the auction postings here.

ETA 9:08 PM Nov 2: Author Shae Connor is joining in the $1 donation drive for the entire last quarter of 2012! You can find her blog post here, and her donation booklist here. She's got a lot of great stuff there--go check her out!

ETA 11:15 PM Nov 2: The lovely Amy Lane is joining in as well--she's donating $1 for every sale of Country Mouse made for the entire month! Since Aleks is also donating, that means $2 in donations every time someone buys Country Mouse. It's funny and sexy, so go forth and purchase! (Earlier I mistakenly included her whole backlist. My apologies!)

ETA 9:11 AM Nov 3: Riptide Publishing is donating 25% of their onsite proceeds from Nov 3 to Nov 10 to the Red Cross. Their post about it is here, and their title listings--complete with many favorite authors in the genre--are here.
