Trek Factor: Powerful Life Lessons from Star Trek (The Trek Factor Series)
Boldly Going Where No Self-Help Book Has Gone Before…
Based on the idea that the Star Trek characters provide stellar examples of enlightened leadership, self-confidence, wisdom, and cooperation, The Trek Factor: Powerful Life Lessons from Star Trek shows how these fictional heroes can be life-changing role models for earthlings. The book showcases the immense power Star Trek has to teach people how to succeed in real life.
The Trek Factor Helps Readers to Find Their Heroes Within
Using Star Trek characters including Spock, Kirk, Picard, Worf, and Deanna Troi, The Trek Factor teaches readers how to use these characters–who represent heroic archetypes–to guide their own self-development. Written for both die-hard Trekkies and casual fans of the show, the characters’ four-personality types (Leader, Analyst, Warrior, and Communicator) are broken down and applied to real life.
Everyday Inspiration from the Starship Enterprise
The Trek Factor helps readers understand how the heroes in Star Trek resolve issues that range
from managing every-day emotions, to confronting bullies, to facing death. Readers are helped to draw inspiration from the character’s actions and decisions. Live embedded links direct you to Star Trek episodes and clips that further demonstrate how each character deals with their particular challenges. The clips help you to understand how the Star Trek crew confronts the same sorts of
issues you deal with every day.
Introject Four Different Types of Heroes
In Star Trek, each character represents a distinct type of hero. By understanding and internalizing the characteristics of each of these archetypes, readers can develop the qualities of the heroes themselves. For example, if you’re like Spock, you may be great at making rational decisions and staying objective, but you’re probably a bit weaker in the Warrior qualities portrayed by Worf or the Leadership qualities of Captain Kirk.
Why Use Fictional Heroes?
From whom else can we learn how to
be strong, brave, compassionate, wise, logical, and fair all at the same
time? These are the days of debunking, when our political, cultural and
religious Leaders too often are caught with pants down–but still, we
crave role models to learn from. The irony is that the fictional
heroes in Star Trek show us how to negotiate life and become strong in a
way that few real life heroes can. Though the Star Trek characters are
fictional, they represent heroic qualities that resonate in a profound
way. They are heroes in a full, non-blemished sense, embodying heroic
qualities with such purity that we can finally learn what those
qualities are, and by example, how to embody them.
Includes Your Personal Star Trek Heroic Assessment
The Trek Factor includes a fun assessment that lets readers identify their predominant hero attributes. With concrete advice on how to use the results, each reader quickly learns if their personality requires more influence from a particular Star Trek character.
Step-by-Step Exercises
You’ll find exercises throughout that will help you to bring forward the hero within yourself. In each exercise, you’ll confront a particular issue in your life, drawing wisdom from Star Trek to help you succeed.
Draws on Star Trek Movie AND Star Trek Series
The Trek Factor draws on Star Trek movies as well as on TNG, DS9, Star Trek Voyager, as well as the Star Trek original series.
Recycling Jimmy
“Recycling Jimmy is energetic, imaginative, relentlessly and unabashedly vulgar, and at times, funny enough to make a cranky reviewer laugh out loud. This belongs on every eccentric fiction fan’s short list of oddball black comedies…” Booklist

For Internal Use Only
Chloe Kassidy has just been accepted into one of Manhattan’s most exclusive art exhibits, Love Through Light. However, with her singular dedication to her career, she soon realizes that in sacrificing her personal life, she has never been in love. A hopeless romantic who is terrified of heartbreak, Chloe begins to enlist the help of her circle of friends to learn about love through their very different stories and experiences.
In Chloe’s emotional rollercoaster to having the greatest love story ever told, she’ll learn that like her photography she must use the negatives in life to develop and prove that she’s a strong woman who found her way to love through light.
Inspired by the notion that women grow up with ideas of true love and destiny, For Internal Use Only approaches those ideas with a decidedly twenty-first century viewpoint. A humorous love story with an edgy and dramatic twist, For Internal Use Only is a vastly entertaining novel that gives each of us a new fairy tale to look forward to: our own.

The Will of My Father: The Christian’s Daily Way of Life
“The Will of My Father” clearly defines and promotes God’s will for the Christian’s daily way of life by expounding Jesus Christ’s sermon on the mount with teaching from the rest of the New Testament, with no regard for any of the established theological viewpoints within Christendom today.
In addition “The Will of My Father” expounds the Armour of God, and thereby clearly defines and promotes it as the Christian’s God given all sufficient defense against failing to do God’s will.
“The Will of My Father” is therefore a must have for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ. For Christ says: “Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven”. Matthew 7:21.

One False Step
Two cops…
Bibi Ferrer, San Diego homicide, receives a warning: Billionaire Anson Williams, will be done in by his new wife, Alexandra. Despite her best efforts, Bibi fails to prevent Williams’ death. Worse, she can’t prove Alexandra is the killer. All she can do is follow Alexandra to her Caribbean lair, the island of St. Bertram.
Things are even more personal for retired Chicago police captain Terry Dunne. His younger brother is killed by a contract assassin. His only clue: The hit-man might have unfinished business waiting for him on St. Bertram.
Two killers . . .
Avice Toussaint, formerly Alexandra Williams, isn’t every man’s idea of a knockout—only those with a pulse. She’s bored with luring wealthy men to their deaths. Problem is, her father wants her to continue. He’s ex-KGB. He kills people who defy him, no exceptions made for family.
George Beecher was an SAS commando, a master of combat. He was far less suited to following orders. After his court martial and discharge from the military, he continued to do the only thing he knew how: kill people. This time for money.
One plan . . .
Bibi and Terry cross paths. Not wanting to alert their prey, they decide to shadow each other’s killer. Get the goods on the killers and see that justice is done.
It’s a plan…but when do those things ever work out?

The High Priest sends his aide to meet a Sumerian merchant who is eager to help, but two undercover agents smell a rat. At the Labyrinth of the Lake a formidable mage is also making connections.
Love affairs, magic and secrets inexorably collide in a race against time.
At the Lake ……..
He walked round them both menacingly. “Show me this pass.”
Kephra pulled up his robe and produced a piece of parchment with script on it. Snatching it from him he looked at it upside down and then threw it onto the desert floor and sheathed his sword. Removing his dagger he held it threateningly in front of Kephra’s face. He grabbed his robe at the neck and sliced all the way down the front and ripped it open. “What are these?” He said pointing to the vials and pouches around his waist. Kephra was apparently fearless. “These are the materials of my magic.” His tormentor turned to his companion and said something in another language and laughed.
“So, magician, can you magic us some women?”
“I can. Out of the air. Maybe you would like some gold too?” This convinced him and Kephra now had his complete attention. Putting his dagger away he very seriously told his companion who nodded eagerly. Walking over to a flat area Kephra drew a circle in the sand and told them to sit on one side of it. “Sit next to me Tejar.” And they sat on the opposite side. He brought out a small hollow tube sealed with pointed stoppers at either end. Very carefully he made a spot in the center of the circle…..
On the Temple of Isis barge …..
They pushed off from the jetty and Isisti moved over to the couch beneath the canopy and watched the banks as all traces of Abydos gradually passed by. At last Kasmet had her to himself.
From his position by the guard rail he suddenly said. “We are lucky to live in the land of the Gods. The beauty of this world is a sight to behold. It is so …liberating to follow the flow of the Great River. All this beauty.” She looked at him with a look that picked him up and sat him down next to her. “You are beauty Isisti.”
“This is the magic of Hathor Kasmet. It’s divine. I have wondered about it all my life. Isis is pure bliss but this is so compelling ……… I like you liberating.”
In the palace ……
The beauty of the singing was exceptional in its pure expression of ecstasy. One of the young women could sing impossibly high and this gave the harmony a thrilling quality. When they finished, one of them sat at a lute and played.
There was a distant rumble and the building shook slightly. Standing, they all looked round alarmed. Majid broke the spell, “What was that?” Histerset ran into the room as he was saying it. “I’ll go and find out.” As he ran down the steps they looked out across the Nile from the parapet hearing people shouting. There was a great commotion from the steps below. Suddenly the Guard Commander rushed in and stopped dead when he saw the Pharaoh. He was panting. “What then? Come on out with it.”
The voyage to Memphis ……
Sere insisted on bringing out the lute again and he listened as the notes drifted upwards and swam away. The other two danced. Becoming ecstatic they moved slowly, bending and rearing and the starlight joined in with the moon.
The coverings on the sides of the tented pavilion on the barge were sheer. In the lamp light the entire scene was visible to the banks. Occasional onlookers bowed their heads as the river carried them on into the Garden.
