July Progress on Writing!
'Tangled Engagements' manuscript is progressing nicely. July was a productive month, despite the time I spent binge-watching Big Bang Theory and The Lizzy Bennett Diaries instead of composing.
The first draft of the manuscript will finish up in August, with editing and proofing to follow. This manuscript is deviating from the original plot outline I wrote back in the winter, as the end of the story line approaches. But I think everything is going to end up approximately where I expected!

Why The Memory Stones Series Began
The current Memory Stones series started when I wondered if there was something to try writing in the fantasy genre that would provide an analogy to our use of smart phones. We're all so dependent on them!
I hit on the idea of the memory stones to fill that plot point. As anyone who has read the series knows, I haven't stuck very closely to that focal point since the first novel in the series - the characters and the plot have wandered away from the use of the stones, though they occasionally do make an appearance.

Memory Stones series to wrap up
The fourth novel in the Memory Stone series has a working title of "Tangled Engagements". The first draft is underway, and going well. I sometimes have a let down in writing momentum after finishing a critical scene, and that happened this weekend, about a third of the way into the book.

Third Theus Novel, Unpredictable Fortunes, to be published within Two Weeks
Editing and proofing are advancing as well as can be hoped, so the expected publication of the next novel in the Memory Stones Series, Unpredictable Fortunes, is likely to be available on Kindle earlier than expected. A publication before the end of June seems reasonable. Stay tuned!

Third Book of Theus's Story Is Underway
Theus's story has been a joy to create, and it feels as though the words have come with greater ease than any extended narrative I've produced since the beginning of Kestrel's story among the kingdoms of the Inner Seas.
The third book is underway, and - for the most part - has continued to stick to the plot outline that I created before launching this series. Knowing what scenarios to stick to and what each chapter is leading to helps keep the flow going...it avoids writing into a dead end, as sometimes happens.
I expect this book to be available on Kindle in mid-July. There is no working title at this point, but if I had to make one up on the spur of the moment, it might be "The Return to Home". We'll see of that feels right in a few weeks!

News on the Upcoming Theus Novel
Theus's story began with the first volume of the Memory Stones Series, "Journey Through the River Cities". Writing that book reached a certain point where it began to write itself, and I love that feeling, when I know how to approach upcoming scenes, and how to frame them in advance, and the words seem to flow across the laptop screen in front of me while I sit in the breakfast nook.
The second novel about Theus's ongoing adventures is titled "Slave to the Deadly Magician" and it is moving along very well. March was a productive month, and April has started well.
I expect Theus's next book to be available on Kindle in early June, if no snags show up. He's going to go through some extremely challenging circumstances, but he's learning more about the wide world, and the threats that are growing.

Theus's story begins!
The first book in the Memory Stone series features Theus, a boy from a very poor farming family, who is sold as an indentured servant to provide enough money for his family to be able to buy food. The story introduction in book one, "Journey Through the River Cities", is the first part of what should take four volumes to complete the planned plot line. There's little in the way of the practice of magic in this book, though there are hints of magic in the manifestations of the powers of the gods, and in the memory stones themselves. This book is building the foundation of the story, and the rest of the series will feature more action and adventure as the plot unfolds through Theus's life. I hope everyone will enjoy!

Another Step Forward for "The Past Revisited"
The manuscript is complete! "The Past Revisited" is now a step closer to completion. If the proofreading and copy editing process goes smoothly, I think the story will reach the Kindle page in late October.

The 12th Novel in the Alec/Ingenairii Series Will Finish This Continuation
Thank you to the readers who have picked up the recently published new volume in the Ingenairii Series. Book 11, "The Cloud of Darkness", is the first of two volumes this year that extend the story of Alec. This short extension of the series will wrap up with the book that I'm currently writing, "The Past Revisited". The story for this new book is about one third written, and should be released in November. It's been a fun plot with a great deal of time traveling involved, and some old friends seen once again.

Revisiting Alec's Ingenairii Stories
With the publication last month of "The Cloud of Darkness" I've written about the adventures of Alec in the Dominion for the first time in several years. Technically, parts of the book are set in the Avonellene Empire and the land of the Twenty Cities, but the heart of the stories about Alec remains in the Dominion. I found that I had to do a fair amount of research to recollect names and details about places visited in the past, and I hope that readers will enjoy the returns in the short novel that takes us back to Alec. The plot line is a fairly simple one, and this series will only be a two book addition to Alec's life story, and then it will be on to something new. The writing has been slow this year due to many distractions - wonderful and positive events, but distractions from the time I could spend writing. Nonetheless, look for the second book to be published before the end of the year to close out this plot line.
