BEYOND JUSTICE MOVIE (Part 3) Frank "Bishop" Morgan

Part III in the BEYOND JUSTICE MOVIE blog miniseries.

If Beyond Justice made it to Hollywood, who do you think should play the role of ex-mobster turned catholic priest Frank "The Bishop" Morgan?

Readers will remember Bishop as the tough as nails inmate whom everyone feared and respected (mostly feared) in the Salton Sea Supermax, where our protagonist Sam Hudson gets sent to as he awaits execution for a crime he didn't commit.

Some fans have suggested the role of Bishop be played by John Travolta.  What do you think?

Free Friday Fiction: THE ACCIDENTAL EXORCIST

Happy Friday, friends!  This week's free ebook is a Barnes & Noble bestselling novelette, and one of my favorites.

My wife really doesn't like stories about exorcisms and demons and all that (too dark and scary, she says), but she read this one and actually liked it a lot.

Here's the description:

THE ACCIDENTAL EXORCIST

When forensic psychiatrist Abigail Lee meets a baby-killing mother who has been declared criminally insane and aquitted, she discovers something lurking beneath the surface. Something far deeper and more insidious than mere psychopathy. But can she come to terms with her own struggle with science and faith in time to confront it?

Envision a BEYOND JUSTICE movie (Part 2) (Dave Pendelton)

So who might make a good actor choice for Dave Pendelton (Pastor Dave) in a movie adaptation of BEYOND JUSTICE?

My thoughts were about contrast:

If Sam Hudson were played by Josh Holloway, or Matthew McConaughey, then perhaps Dave Pendelton could be played by Denzel Washington.  I don't know how many supporting roles Denzel has played, or if he'd even be interested in a non-leading role, but I think he'd make a great "Pastor Dave."

And if Sam Hudson were played by Will Smith then perhaps Pastor Dave might be played by Tom Hanks

There are plenty more speculations for the cast and we'll be looking at that for fun in future posts!

What do you think?

Envision a BEYOND JUSTICE movie! Part 1 (Sam Hudson)

So many fans and friends tell me that BEYOND JUSTICE must be made into a movie. To that, I say: I AGREE! Just need to find the right producer/director, etc., who share the same vision for the book and story.

Along with the exhortations to get my book turned into a movie comes the many recommendations for the cast. It's been very interesting to see what people are thinking for potential actors.

Josh Holloway as Sam Hudson?

Josh Holloway as Sam Hudson?

Here's one thread on facebook that talks about ideas for the lead role of Sam Hudson:

http://on.fb.me/f63bko

Matthew McCounaughey

Other suggestions have included Matthew McConaughey, Patrick Dempsey, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, and even older actors like George Clooney, Scott Bakula.

It's sure a lot of fun to imagine, based on what you know from the book and what your mind assigns to an actor.

I'll reserve my own opinion for now on this blog and encourage you to leave your comments and get a discussion going.

There will be more blog entries like this discussing other characters and who might possibly play them in a BEYOND JUSTICE movie.  :)
