Thieftaker Blog Tour and Signing Tour
The Summer 2012 THIEFTAKER Blog Tour resumes today, after a one day hiatus during which I began the THIEFTAKER 2012 Signing Tour with the first leg of my drive to Albany, NY (596 miles). But I digress… Today I have a post up at All Things Urban Fantasy on the blending of history with urban fantasy. As an extra inducement to get you over to the site to read the post, we are doing a double giveaway. Some lucky winner will receive a signed copy of THIEFTAKER and a Thieftaker t-shirt!! So check out the post and enter to win. And please check out the schedule for the aforementioned signing tour; maybe I’ll be signing somewhere in your area!
And now it’s time for me to get back on the road -- 450 miles planned for today. See you later!

New Posts Up At Sites of Kate Elliott and Faith Hunter
Hope all of you had a great Fourth of July; I know I did. A parade, grilled dinner with good friends, fireworks. And a very successful book signing in my home town. Today, I am back to the Blog Tour with new posts at sites hosted by two of my very favorite people in the world. One is at the blog of my friend Kate Elliott. The post is about what Kate calls “Untaught history,” those aspects of our past that tend to be ignored by history textbooks. The other is a wonderfully fun post at the website of my Magical Words co-founder, Faith Hunter, in which a character of hers interviews Sephira Pryce, the thieftaking villainess of the Thieftaker books. I hope you enjoy both of them.

Release Day Triple-Play!!
To quote Rabbit from Winnie-the-Pooh, “Today’s the day!!!” THIEFTAKER is officially out and ready for purchase in hardcover and ebook format at all bricks-and-mortar and online booksellers. I’ve been waiting a long time for this, and I’m pretty excited!! To mark the occasion, the Summer 2012 Blog Tour makes three stops today! I have a post up at the online journal of the wonderful and talented Mary Robinette Kowal. The post is part of Mary’s “My Favorite Bit” feature. I also have a post up at the blog of the Knight Agency (I am represented by Knight) on creating historical settings, and I have written at the blog of my good friend Stuart Jaffe about the things that inspire us. Finally, if you missed my interview on Dungeon Crawlers Radio last night you can listen to it here. Enjoy the posts and interview, and if you haven’t already gotten your copy of THIEFTAKER, I hope you will soon. Many thanks!

The Blog Tour One Day Out!
The day before the long-awaited release of THIEFTAKER, the Summer 2012 Blog Tour stops at the blog of SFNovelist friend and fellow Tor writer Alyx Dellamonica. My post there is about the magic system I’ve created for the Thieftaker universe. I have also put up my usual Monday morning post at Magical Words. Not surprisingly, that one is about THIEFTAKER, too . . . . And finally, this evening I will be appearing on Dungeon Crawlers Radio! http://www.dungeoncrawlersradio.com/ Tune in at 7:00 pm Central Time! Enjoy!!

Two New Interviews Up Today!
After a one day break, the Summer 2012 THIEFTAKER Blog Tour resumes today with a pair of interviews. One was done with the wonderful Paige Crutcher at Authorlink.com. It’s a wide ranging discussion that touches not only on THIEFTAKER, but also on writing in general, whether or not I believe in magic, and how small events ripple through our lives. Check it out. The other is a Q&A on writing historical fiction with the great folks over at Unusual Historicals. This one includes a book giveaway! Please visit both sites, and, as always, enjoy!

Friday on the Blog Tour -- Surprise Visits!
I thought that today would be an off day for the Summer 2012 THIEFTAKER Blog Tour, but as it turns out, I have two unexpected stops on today’s agenda. One is a blog post at the Black Gate Magazine Blog, and the other is an interview with Justin B. at A Bibliophile’s Reverie.
I hope you enjoy both posts, preferably in the comfort of an air conditioned room or coffee house. Stay cool!

Blog Tour Goes to Unusual Historicals
For today’s installment of THIEFTAKER Blog Tour 2012, I am at Unusual Historicals today, with an excerpt from THIEFTAKER. I’ll be back there again on Sunday, July 1 with an interview AND a chance to win a free copy of the book. Also, I thought I would mention that THIEFTAKER has made “The Ranting Dragon” list of the 20 most anticipated releases for July. This isn’t an official part of the Blog Tour, but it’s pretty cool anyway!

The THIEFTAKER Blog Tour Rolls On!
The Summer 2012 THIEFTAKER Blog Tour takes me to two blogs today. One belongs to Lucienne Diver, my terrific agent and a wonderful writer in her own right. I’m talking about characterization, in particular the inspiration for the lovely and dangerous Sephira Pryce from THIEFTAKER. And we're giving away a copy of the book, so be sure to stop by! I am also at the blog of friend and author extraordinaire Cie Adams, posting about the joy of writing under a pseudonym. I hope you’ll check out and enjoy both posts.

Today's Stops on the THIEFTAKER Blog Tour!
Today the Summer 2012 THIEFTAKER Blog Tour makes two stops, one at the blog of the fabulous and debonaire Blake Charlton, where I talk about my journey from academia to fiction writing; and the other at Sideshow Freaks, the blog for Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show, where I discuss the role short fiction has played in my development of the Thieftaker world. Both blogs allow readers to leave comments, so please stop by, read the posts, and join the conversation. Many thanks!

THIEFTAKER Blog Tour at SFNovelists Today!
The Summer 2012 Blog Tour for THIEFTAKER continues today with my post at http://www.SFNovelists.com, the blog site I share with a group of approximately 100 published authors in fantasy and science fiction. The post is called "Blending Mystery and Speculative Fiction," and it is about the ways in which cross-genre works appeal to fans various writing styles. I hope you enjoy it. And I hope that you will continue to follow the Blog Tour over the next several weeks. I will be writing posts on many aspects of writing and marketing at a variety of sites. The schedule for the tour can be found here.
