Cupid Painted Blind

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that Cupid Painted Blind is available for free for the Kindle for the rest of today and tomorrow. In fact, it's actually moving up on the contemporary romance bestsellers charts right now.

Give it a try here.

Also, I wanted to remind you that I'm a guest at Anime Salt Lake this weekend. You can get more details from their website or my latest column for the City Weekly.

I hope to see you guys there!

A New eBook and Two Conventions

The second part of my film series, Confessions of an Independent Filmmaker, has been released on Amazon. (I haven't decided yet if I'm going to put it on Barnes and Noble as well or to enroll it in KDP Select.) This documents the few years between my first movie and my second movie and all of the various projects that were worked on in between. It also includes sample investment proposals in case you're looking to write one for a film project you're working on.

You can get it here.

As far ...

Cupid Painted Blind (among other things)

First off, I'd like to let you know that there is a new collection of shorts available exclusively for the Kindle called Cupid Painted Blind.

It contains four stories that longtime readers of the site will recognize: The Missed Opportunities of Days Gone By, A Friend Indeed, Cupid Painted Blind, and Some Wintery Reminiscence.

You can check it out here.

If you're interested in supporting me monetarily, you can pick it up for $2.99, though if you want to wait until next week, I'll be doi...

Ladies and Gentlemen!

I'm proud to announce two releases today, both shipping ahead of schedule.

The first print run of God Bless You, Mr. Vonnegut has arrived, the pre-orders have shipped, and I'm now shipping signed copies.

The book is 144 pages and retails for $9.99 plus shipping and handling.

The official blurb:

Few authors have had as much influence on the youth of America than Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. He brought morality and humanism to the forefront of millions of minds and into the...

Audiobooks are the Future of Indie Publishing

Writing a book and publishing it seems challenging enough, but producing a professional quality audiobook on top of that seems like it's a bridge too far for most. There aren't anywhere near as many audio books coming out as there are books of every nature on the self-publishing market.

Assuming you're someone people will want to read in the first place, the more you have to offer, the larger the audience you'll be able to reach.

I think audio books are that next bridge.

Right now, there's...

Confessions of an Independent Filmmaker

I've been working full time as a producer of film and video projects for a long time now, and I've been working at that even longer as a part time job.

I've worked on a lot of films, I've made a lot of films, and I think I've done some things that were fairly unique over my years. I've built spaceships, infiltrated Sundance, and if there's a job on a film, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, or marketing, I've figured out a way to do it on my own, without the...

Announcements: A Signing, Movies, and Release Dates

I'll be the first to admit that I'm lucky my brain hasn't exploded with how many different balls I'm juggling with my career, both as a film and video producer and a writer.  Those jobs really aren't that different, to be honest. My career is as a storyteller. The fact that I can produce it on video or publish it in a book is just a matter of medium.

But I have some announcements and we'll get to them in order.

This is a reminder for my next signing. I will be at two different stores on...

A New eBook, a Signing, and an Announcement

First: An Original, a short story that appeared in Man Against the Future has been made available exclusively on Amazon as a single.

An Original is a story that is near and dear to my heart, about a man who learns a terrible secret about himself.

It's currently being adapted into a screenplay.

Second: I will be attending a pair of book signings on February 18th. Here are the links to the Facebook events pages. (The First Signing and The Second Signing). I will have print copies of God B...

Origins Game Fair

For the second year in a row I will be a special guest at Origins Game Fair.

I will be signing books, doing readings, and teaching writing seminars.

You can get more information as it's available on the Origins website and here when I'm able to announce more details. The panels I've been asked to be on are sure to be great. And if you find me boring, there are always panels with Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston, and Mike Stackpole.

I hope to see you there.

I'll be debuting my new science fi...
