Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:
"Well, we aren't really sure. He was an indigent – no identification, no living relatives. But he claimed to have been born in 1876."
I stared at him. "That would make him one hundred and thirty-one years old."
The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey – page i (of the prologue)

Trust your instincts. So I stepped across the threshold and into the hallway.
And I swear I felt the air shimmer, as if part of reality had rearranged itself around me. If he does turn out to be a serial killer, I thought, I am going to feel really, really stupid.

Review: Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast (House of Night Series)
Novel: Marked (House of Night #1)
Author: P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast
Pages: 306
Genre: Young Adult Urban Fantasy
The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres have always existed. In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire--that is, if she makes it through the Change. Not all of those who are chosen do. It's tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.
(I will not be posting any spoilers! Only opinion for the sake of those of us who love to have our first look at a book be untainted by foreknowledge.)
Okay, I will admit it. The first time I saw this book I picked it up, saw that the first page said K-babble, turned to a random pages and started reading and saw something I felt was inappropriate and put it back down deciding not to buy it. I won't lie about it but then the other day I was at the library and figured, well, I am not paying for it. Now... my full confession. This series has become my guilty pleasure. I realize there are points that a lot of parents would not be okay with and I will start out with those simply because I know a lot of mothers read my reviews while looking for books for their daughters and I feel that you should be well informed before making a decision about this series. This is a vampire series, does have sexual content, has a small amount of cussing and a few other parts of the books that mothers may or may not approve of. Now for the good part. I normally really dislike books with that kind of content... not this one. It is written in a perspective that makes the teen aspect of it more realistic, the main character is intelligent, level headed and easy to relate to and I even went as far as to go out and buy the first four books. (Betrayed, the second book is eagerly awaiting me in my purse.) I was reading and could really relate and feel what she was feeling make me perfectly sure that P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristen Cast make a perfect team. I JUST LOVED IT! Off to go read the second book and eagerly awaiting seeing what will happen next. I really should have picked the book up the first time and to be honest, when I get proven wrong about a book I thought I might not like. I like it. I love having a book pleasantly surprise me and boy was this one a surprise! LOVED IT!
4 Stars!
Would I suggest you read it:
This is a book where I am a bit torn about who I should suggest it to. On the one hand I really enjoyed it and it was written in a style that brought me back to when I was a teenager but on the other hand there was cussing, sexual references and more that isn't appropriate for all teens and some adult prefer to stay away from. So I would have to say that I would suggest it to anyone who wants to read it but knows what they are getting into and understands that there is some inappropriate content.
P.S.- I am looking forward to the release of Awakened on January 4th!!!

My Soul to Steal release date!
As many of you know the Soul Screamers series is one of my favorites and guess hat today is? SHELF DATE FOR MY SOUL TO STEAL! Here is the trailer and a blurb!
YOU WANT MY SOUL AND MY BOYFRIEND?
Trying to work things out with
Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just
pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their
relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to
take Nash back.
See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara,
the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft
them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she
survives.
And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to
death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.
I DON'T THINK SO.

Review: Tyger, Tyger by Kersten Hamilton
Novel: Tyger Tyger: A Goblin Wars Book
Author: Kersten Hamilton
Pages: 320
Genre: YA (Fantasy)
Teagan Wylltson's best friend, Abby, dreams that horrifying creatures--goblins, shape-shifters, and beings of unearthly beauty but terrible cruelty--are hunting Teagan. Abby is always coming up with crazy stuff, though, so Teagan isn't worried. Her life isn't in danger. In fact, it's perfect. She's on track for a college scholarship. She has a great job. She's focused on school, work, and her future. No boys, no heartaches, no problems.
Until Finn Mac Cumhaill arrives. Finn's a bit on the unearthly beautiful side himself. He has a killer accent and a knee-weakening smile. And either he's crazy or he's been haunting Abby's dreams, because he's talking about goblins, too . . . and about being The Mac Cumhaill, born to fight all goblin-kind. Finn knows a thing or two about fighting. Which is a very good thing, because this time, Abby's right. The goblins are coming.
(I will not be posting any spoilers! Only opinion for the sake of those of us who love to have our first look at a book be untainted by foreknowledge.)
Down to earth. Finally. I was able to say it. A main character who is down to earth. Teagan is my kind of girl. She adores her family which is something I always love in a novel, she doesn't care if she is the school cheerleader and just wants to be herself and is NOT always drooling over boys. I have been reading many novels lately that have a girl who is just waiting, wanting and desperate to fall in love. Teagan is not. I won't spoil is she does end up finding a love interest of not *wink**wink* but I love this character.
That said, I would love this novel for Teagan alone but it also has adventure, creatures from the old stories such as goblins and each character actually had their own attributes that makes them special and unique making you love each one of them. I think readers of the Spiderwick Chronicles or other creature and myth based stories would enjoy this novel. It had an amazing main character, it is a great novel, even if it does have some really yucky uglies in it as some of the villains. It is overall, a satisfying read even if it won't make it to my favorites shelf.
4 Stars!
Would I suggest you read it:
If you love Goblins you will love this, if you love down to earth main characters, you will love Teagan and it is a great story for a wider range of age groups so YES I would suggest it.
(This novel was received through netGalley. This does not change my stance, opinion or effect my views in any way.)

My Teaser:
This was not the heart-stopping touch that she had been waiting for all evening, and it didn't help especially that his style of kissing was akin to mashing one face against another. Her whole body went slack with the disappointment.
