Owlet blog tour stop #33 at Mad Hatter Reads

Today's stop on the Owlet blog tour comes courtesy of Traci at Mad Hatter Reads.
Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:Will Iris ever forgive her father and Diana for what they have done?
Traci's Review:Emma did a great job at laying the foundation for the Society of Feathers series. The suspense kept me turning the pages quickly to find out exactly what was going on and if Iris's (and my) questions were going to be answered. I'm excited to see where this series goes next!

Owlet blog tour stop #32 read-along excerpt

Following is the continuing read-along excerpt for stop #32 on the Owlet blog tour. Enjoy!

***

“Roger...why didn’t you tell me?” Diana said, trying to hide the waiver in her voice.

“It isn’t what you think Diana. She isn’t a Raven and she isn’t going to die. Iris didn’t dream of black feathers. Do you remember the poem? The one they teach you in classes about the least common Stryx?” Roger’s voice was firm.

“Of course. Who doesn’t? You know my dad. He wouldn’t let me get away with not having a full education on each Aves,” Diana said, staring down the road where Iris had disappeared. “Why?”

“She saw white feathers. White, not black. I was too afraid I might be wrong and tell you too quickly so I spent the morning checking before Caleb gets here, and I was right. She is...”

“I know what white means, Roger! So Caleb is really coming to the house?” Diana was sitting on the ground completely still, the luggage sat beside her.

“Yes. I hate having to take apart Iris’ room, but I don’t know how else to hide that she has been here. I am going to tell him that the double books are here so that I have one to keep in perfect condition and the other to read, or just let him assume. So much of it I can explain away but not her room.” Roger’s voice was filled with a quiet sorrow. “I miss her so much already. I wish it didn’t have to be this way.”

“I don’t understand. If she isn’t a Raven then why does it have to be this way? Why can’t we tell him?”

“Diana, remember what we have done. We have broken every law and put the entire Society of Feathers in harm’s way. What she really is won’t matter to him, only what we did to save her.”

“But Roger...white feathers...you know what that means. What she could be.”

Owlet blog tour stop #31 at Book Nerd

Week four of the Owlet blog out kicks off today thanks to Giselle at Book Nerd.
Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:Iris' feather necklace is the key that opens the door to the house.
Giselle's Review:Romantics will truly love this soul mate story. I can honestly say how much the teenage me would have enjoyed this story. Even though Iris can’t believe she knows Falcon, her heart calls to him, and for some reason she doesn’t know why. This is why I kept turning the pages. I wanted to know!

Owlet blog tour stop #30 at Rather Barefoot Than Bookless

Our second stop of the day comes thanks to Cecilia at Rather Barefoot than Bookless.
Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:Despite her asthma, Iris runs towards someone she thinks she sees in the tree line.
Cecilia's Review:I loved that even though you could guess it, Michaels did not let the secret of this book slip to easy. And the guessing makes you want to read more so it was a smart move to keep readers going.

Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:A deck hand on the ferry shares what he remembers about Iris' mother.
Michael's Review:Five out of Five stars! A beautifully written piece of work that draws you in from the first page on. It was smart, emotionally driven with well-developed characters, and a completely original storyline matched by none.

Our second stop of the day on the Owlet blog tour comes thanks to Melissa at Reading It All.
Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:Iris has never seen Diana afraid of anything...until now.
Review from Melissa:Iris is a great leading character. She questioned and thought about everything. To me, that made her character so much more believable.
