Read The Brubury Tales at Tia Chucha's Bookstore
On Friday night I read from The Brubury Tales at Tia Chucha's Bookstore in Sylmar, California. The reading went well. We sold a few books and met some cool people. The bookstore, a non-profit community center, is an amazing place for poetry readings, writing workshops and other fun events. It's kind of a politcal place, lots of revolutionary types (more slam than anything else), but the atmosphere was great and everyone there was really interested in poetry and passionate about writing -- which you gotta love. This is probably one of my favorite reading venues so far this year. If you're ever in the Sylmar area, you should definitely check it out. The events are free, parking is free, but maybe bring a seat cushion. The chairs there are brutal for a 2 or 3 hour event :)
