As Fast As Words Could Fly chosen as Picture Book of the Day!

Mia Wenjen, founder of PragmaticMom.com, was inspired by a school visit by Ruby Bridges and was searching for a children's book on civil rights. As she looked through a pile of books on her desk, As Fast As Words Could Fly found her! It had been patiently waiting for this moment. What an honor and privilege to have the book featured, reviewed and recommended by Mrs. Wenjen. And for a double-honor, Mrs. Wenjen compared Mason's story with Ruby Bridges' story. Interview with Author Marianne Modica on the topic of Colorism in America today

I had the pleasure of meeting Marianne Modica, author of The R Word. She is an Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education at Valley Forge Christian College. Her book focuses on exploring contemporary attitudes about race and stimulating discussions about present-day racial inequality on a structural level. As I was very interested in reading her book, The R Word, Marianne seemed to have shared a similar interest in reading my novel, Color Struck, which explores the concept of colorism from a young adult perspective. We became "instant" contacts and she was gracious enough to interview me for her blog: R is for Race. Honored by the invitation, I am pleased to share with you the link to read the interview, and also introduce you to Marianna's mission & purpose. Pamela Tuck participates in Pine Forge "No Place for Hate" re-designation assembly

All school visits are special to me and I really enjoy connecting with my targeted audience. But being able to contribute to a school's mission and purpose to encourage students in the area of "teaching tolerance" was a unique and memorable moment for me. I was invited to attend Pine Forge Elementary School to help celebrate their "No Place for Hate" re-designation. This school was presented their 8th banner, which demonstrates their continual efforts in maintaining a "No Place for Hate" environment. It was a pleasure to witness and share The Adventure of Sheldon, the Mushroom & As Fast As Words Could Fly as reinforcing tools. Berks-Mont News covered this event: click to read the article: Pamela M. Tuck participates in Pine Forge "No Place for Hate" re-designation

Very engaging interview with Mixed Race Radio Host, Tiffany Rae Reid

I had the pleasure of being invited on Mixed Race Radio by author and host, Tiffany Rae Reid, who is also a life coach serving the biracial community. It was such an honor to be her special guest on May 1, 2013. We shared our thoughts and views on diversity and agreed on how important it is to reach children before their little minds are guided in the wrong direction. The Adventure of Sheldon, the Mushroom chosen as a "No Place For Hate" book!

Pine Forge Elementary has chosen The Adventure of Sheldon, the Mushroom as a book to use in their "No Place For Hate" campaign. The campaign is designed to help combat prejudice and to protect each person's civil rights. It is an honor to have our book selected to be shared with elementary students in an effort to promote friendships. We hope that our book will inspire readers to embrace diversity and accept others for who they are.

Color Struck Selected for Required Reading at Marygrove College!

Words cannot convey the honor of receiving an email from Professor Johnson, expressing her opinion of Color Struck. Her own touching personal story explains why she could relate to our novel. We are deeply grateful for being able to reach and connect with a diversity of people, and hearing their personal accounts and testimonies is a highlight for us.

Professor Johnson has selected Color Struck as required reading for her students this fall. WHAT AN HONOR!

We send our sincere thanks to her and we hope our book will enlighten and inspire all who read it.
