New Contract for Tina and Book Cover Too

I don't have a release date yet, but should have it soon.
This is a story that has been on my hard drive forever and I finally decided to take the time and edit it. I certainly hope you will enjoy this sensuous tale, with Camden Boughton and Gillian Fairborn.
I have several new projects in the works that I'm very happy and excited about. More on them as they progress.
I will be on Diva's Bookcase during her Halloween Spectacular. Stop on by and enter your name to win an abundance of books.
Here is a blurb for No Substitute For Love:
Camden Boughton, Duke of Somerville, has recovered from his drunken binge, brought on by his guilt over the death of his wife. As he eases himself back into society, he sees the devastatingly beautiful Gillian Fairborn, a young widow who has been left in penury. After much soul searching, she concludes she must seek a wealthy protector.
Her fair beauty draws Cam to discover her identity and when they finally meet, he is so captivated, he can do nothing but offer to help her to a better life. The offer is the single most altruistic gesture he's ever made. He wants nothing in return, but her comfort.
However, to Gillian's way of thinking, she is Cam's mistress and sets the stage for a seduction the handsome duke can't mistake as anything else.
Secrets, lies and an unexpected enemy conspire to keep them apart. Somehow, he must make Gillian see she is no substitute for love.

A Brag, Yes! and a Gigantic Thank You
Every day, I, like many other authors, check the number of books that I've sold since the last time I checked. A friend calls it "Ego Surfing" and I suppose he is right, but nonetheless, I do it and am gratified and humbled to learn that my Sapphire Club series has sold X number of books and it is ever increasing.
The goal of any author is to sell books. My lifelong problem has always been that I didn't think I was good enough to write something someone would buy. There is a difference. I never thought much about selling books because I thought too hard and long on my ability to write, instead of listening to my inner muse and just doing the damn thing!
I wrote my erotic historical, Serenity's Dream, after researching what people were buying and reading. Serenity couldn't be more different from her creator, but she was indeed created, as was the world of the Sapphire Club, and low and behold, people are buying the books.
Serenity's Dream has outpaced its sister books, Lord Decadent's Obsession and Chocolate, Tea and the Duchess, but after all, Serenity is the first book in the series.
The series is selling very well on Amazon and All Romance E-books, making several Best Selling lists. As an author, I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see my books on top 100 Best Selling lists. For instance, this is a snap of Serenity, this morning, on the Best Selling Historical Regency list on Amazon.
Yes, number 27, between two Georgette Heyer books. Ms. Heyer was the creator of Regency Romance and my little old book sits between two of her best.
Well, not having enough of the exploration, I searched the Kindle Store. There she was again, Ms. Serenity lurking just below Madeline Hunter and Georgette Heyer in the #23 slot. Out of over 6600 Historical Regencies in the Kindle store, Serenity's sits close to the top. The feeling to see that is amazing for many reasons no one but me will ever understand, but it is wonderful.
Of all the books Amazon sells, mine joins many others on a category best selling list. The Kindle store alone sells 734,135 books, but then whose counting?
A search of the Hot New Releases on Amazon revealed Chocolate, Tea and the Duchess in the #41 slot. She's hovered there for several days, making me very proud of her. She and the others compete with Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh, Georgette Heyer, even Jane Austin, and still make the category lists. Stellar company I'd say.
Another place where the books are doing well is on All Romance E-Books. For over a month now, Lord Decadent's Obsession and Serenity's Dream have sat proudly on the Top 5 Best Selling Historical Regency Romance list, trading slots from two to five, but maintaining a presence. This snap was taken this morning. I think they look mighty good sitting on top of the All Romance page for Historical Regency Romances.
Yes, I am bragging, shamelessly and unapologetically. If I don't,no one will. It's the least I can do for my beleaguered muse, who works tirelessly to produce thousands of words a day, every day of the week, no holidays, no respite. There are stories to be told, characters to either get in bed or villians that need a comeuppance.
Too many years were taken off, while I wrestled with the naysayers and those who told me it couldn't be done. To them I say, "It has been done and will continue to be done until I can't type any longer."
And to those who have bought my books, I salute you, for it is you I write them for. Thank you for putting them on the various lists, but more than that, thank you for continuing to buy them, for letting me know you enjoy them and for marking your calendars for the next releases. You know who you are and I can't tell you how I love you for it.
There is much still to be written, and some really exciting things being planned. Brita and Tina are busy, busy and I can only say, once again, Thank You. I now have someone to write for.
Luv you all,
Brita

Some News
Hi everyone,
This past week has been a very busy one. I've written quite a bit, still working on the second vampire book. I gutted five chapters, as I found myself going in a direction I really didn't want to go in and now I feel I am back on track. I still have to plot the remainder of the book, given the change, but I will get to that as soon as possible and then wrap up the book.
My first m/m vampire book will be released on December 4th, and I was hoping to have the other two book completed by then, but it doesn't look as though I will. I'm thinking I will have them done by the first of the new year, given all I have on my plate at the moment.
Just yesterday, I signed a new contract with a new publisher, Decadent Publishing, for my next "Tina" book. It's called No Substitute For Love and I'm really excited about it, given that I've been working on it FOREVER. I had a major plot twist that simply didn't work and it took awhile for me to realize it. Finally, when I shuffled things around a bit, everything fell into place and VOILA, Decadent bought it. YEAH!!
Keta Diablo and I the Trail Me Teasers Blog Hop and it is going strong. We are looking for new members, so stop on by and add your blog to the list. Be sure to follow all the instructions, because you will have to include the information on your blog or website as well, or the hop stops with you. It's really easy, a matter of following the simple steps.
I've now placed the Blog Hop on its own page, so just click on Trail Me Teasers under Pages, and you are ready to hop. My list of new books to read is increasing everyday and I am so looking forward to reading new to me authors.
I discovered a wonderful new blog, Saige Advice and Other Spices and I encourage you all to visit. Saige Greene interviewed my alter-ego, Tina Ordone and it was great fun. The interview will be live until October 25th, and Tina is giving away a copy of her debut book, Her Timeless Obsession to a commenter.
Please take a moment and visit Saige. She has a lovely blog and is looking forward to the next few weeks, when she'll be interviewing Keta Diablo, Bryl Tyne, Aleksandr Voinov, Chloe Stowe, Margie Church and many more wonderful authors.
If you are an author and would be interested in being interviewed on Saige's Stage, please email her at: saigegreene@gmail.com. Interviews go live on Tuesdays and are up for a week. That's a week of promo everyday, your bookcovers on the site and a really nice interview.
Well, I'm off to get some more things checked off my list. I've left you with a few things to do, so hop onto them and I'll catch you next time.
Till then,
Luv,
Brita

Writing, Editing and Titles
This week has been a busy one and passed rather quickly. I've been putting together the second book in my Mysterious Moonlight m/m vampire series. Funny how stories come to the mind.
I went to dinner a week ago with my husband and my daughter. Lovely place, a family favorite. I'd been agonizing over the story for some time and I'd told my family such. As we enjoyed our meal, my daughter's face lit up with the realization that she was possessed of a marvelous idea and indeed she was.
There at the table, she laid out the story, a wonderful tale of intrigue and things I never expected. She has indeed read and watched tons of vampire and witch movies and books. Her mind exploded with plot and characters, all of which I simply loved. Then she said, "Okay, Mama, now write it."
And that is just what I've been doing, in between getting another Tina book ready to submit. The book thing has been suffering unended for nearly a year and untitled until just a few days ago. Funny, how that happens - some titles come early in the process and other linger until the end and even after.
Serenity's Dream came about early on, while Chocolate, Tea and the Duchess didn't come until the very end, when I wrote the explanation from Phillip Allard as to why a menage made sense. Lord Decadent's Obsession was rather easy, because Prentice Hyde made it so.
I wrote an upcoming Brita book, Splendid Captivity, around the title. That book comes out on January 22, 2011. More on that in time.
I will submit my second Tina book and then back to my vamps. The first book, Love Immortal comes out on December 4th. The third book in the series is on the hard drive in my mind. They are indeed fun to write.
Writing- a wonderful thing, a glorious way to bring life to characters who are terribly demanding, for they wish to have their stories told in their time, not mind. Many a morning, I'm up before the sun, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Until next time,
Luv,
Brita

Review of Chocolate, Tea and the Duchess 17.5 of 20

Review: WOW, so here is where I will admit to you all that I grabbed this book without reading the blurb. I have read another in this series, found it amazing, I adore Ms Addams work so when I saw this one come across I snapped it up.
I was shocked, aroused, I cried, I longed…I am in awe. I am not very big on m/m, just isn't one of my favorite genres. But I have to say of all the m/m/f or f/m/m or m/f/m that I have read, this one tops the list. Ms Addams did a wonderful job of pulling me in and making me want and crave all the characters. I saw them all in their own light and variations of combined lights. What a wonderfully refreshing eye opener for me. Perhaps I shall have to seek out more stories like this one

Interacting with Readers
Interacting with Readers
Writing is a very solitary pursuit. I sit in my living room, with no TV or radio. I do have a puppy, who loves to chase the two older (much older) male cats, but for the most part, I'm alone, my husband and daughter understand the need for the time I spend writing.
When I first started writing, seriously that is, I was so focused on the stories that populated my mind that I never saw much past the finish of the next chapter. Readers were a distant consideration; those hoped for entities that I really had no idea how to reach.
To reach a single reader, one must get their book published and that is just the beginning. I had no idea about promotion, attracting the attention of that one reader who would like my book. The book I agonized over in the middle of the night, fretted over at three in the morning, when my muse woke me with a most brilliant twist in plot. The book comes out and low and behold, a copy sells! A reader has spent their hard earned money on something I wrote. Wow! Will they like it? A week later, I get an e-mail. I could only imagine and I convinced myself, that it was from that one reader. She raved about Serenity's Dream and boy, did that feel good. She wasn't my sister or my friend – she was a stranger.
Now that the Sapphire Club series is out and many people have read the three books. I get e-mails from people all the time and interact with people on Facebook and Twitter. Never did I see myself being so active on the social networks, but folks contact me and make the interaction a great deal of fun.
To say that readers are extremely important to an author is a profound understatement. They are an author's lifeblood. I love my readers, the ladies who read my stories and wish to have more. I got a Facebook message just today, counting down the days to the release of my first release under my real name, Tina Ordone. She wants to read Her Timeless Obsession because she loved the Sapphire Club series so much.
I can't possibly tell you how wonderful that feels – someone wants to read my book simply because I wrote it. Little old me. Amazing!
I love getting e-mails from readers, comments on my blog or on Facebook. It's wonderful to know there are those out there who like what I do and aren't afraid to tell me so. I love that.
In the spirit of interacting with my readers, today (October 2), I've scheduled a chat for 3pm eastern time, where anyone who wishes to, can come to my site, www.britaaddams.com and chat with me and my real personage, Tina, about our books or whatever. It's a live chat, made simple by the installation of a chat room on the site. Here's all you have to do:

I'll be there waiting at 3 eastern (New York) and can't wait to meet you. Bring your questions.Hope to see you there and until then,
Luv ya,Brita (and Tina)
