Weekly Dynamic: Transaction vs. Batch Posting Revisited

I've covered Transaction Posting vs. Batch Posting in Dynamics GP before but I wanted to revisit one more element this week.

If you post at the transaction level for subledgers Dynamics GP will ALWAYS override your Post Through preferences and only post TO the GL. In other words if you post a transaction in the AP Subledger, you will always have to post it again in the GL. The transaction will NOT post through regardless of what your Post To/Post Through settings are.

Support Debugging Tool Build 16 released - Developing for Dynamics GP

I don't post much on Friday's because when I do, not nearly as many people read it but today I'm making an exception. the Support Debugging Tool Build 16 has been released and it deserves a special mention.

Mariano had a beta installed when we presented together at the GPUG Summit in Las Vegas and there were interface improvements that initially threw me for a loop. The SDT is looking more polished with each release. Keep up the great work David.

We got word yesterday that we need to have our Convergence presentations done and submitted by 2/27. Every year it seems like I come across something presentation related as I'm prepping for Convergence and this year is no different. If you're presenting at Convergence or DayONE make sure to check out RESENTING IS SIMPLE (It's just not easy): I don't care how you make the sausages.
