Balancing Act
Life in general is a balancing act of work and play. Add in being a mom and it seems to complicate things ten fold. I admit I do it to myself because I have many different interests and many things I do for income that keep me hopping from one thing to another. While it’s tiring at times and I sometimes wish I just had that one regular 9-5 job I wouldn’t trade the craziness for the more normal. However, with that said it is difficult sometimes to balance everything. Juggle my family, all my work, and try to find time for the fun things in life or even just sleep more than five or six hours a night.
For 2013 I am sure I won’t slow down but I will commit to making better use of my time and focus on setting the right priorities. I came across this informative article about being efficient at work and setting the right priorities, read here.
How will you prioritize for 2013?

Countdown to 2013
While I love Christmas I also love New Years and all that comes with it. A fresh start, putting a new plan in place, a new Franklin Covey planner (I am tech savvy but I love my paper planner). This week I will be honing my 2013 plan and putting those actions in place to get me there and I’m excited. However, celebration also needs to happen for those successes in 2012. I think many people don’t spend enough time to celebrate the wins because of all the things we feel we could have done better.
Each day for the rest of the year I want to celebrate one thing I did well. Today I want to congratulate myself for continuing to write and get better and my craft even in the face of discouragement.
What success are you proud of this year?

31 Days of Naughty & Nice
I am excited it is December 1st! December is a fun month full of good food, pretty decorations, and family holidays. It’s also the month for gift giving which I love to do.
Picking out that perfect gift from someone can be a challenge but also rewarding when you see the joy on their face.
What’s your favorite part of gift giving?

Monday Motivation
Because laughing and enjoying simple things such as fun quotes and sayings gets my motivation pumping I think starting off the week with a giggle is just the thing to do!
I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.

I need my coffee
As many of us writers, and just people in general know, that morning cup of coffee is necessary to be able to have coherent thoughts. I saw this and had to share!

AAUGH!!!

I’m not a huge cartoon fan. Of course I loved them when I was young but now I enjoy them because the kids enjoy them. I’m not one of those adult cartoon lovers. But today when faced with one thing after another that threatened to derail my book production and sales plan for the rest of the year this exact Charlie Brown clip came to mind. How he ran so hard at that football for the kick of his life just to have Lucy pull it away at the last minute and he saw his dream of a great kick fall by the wayside. The upside to this is Charlie always was willing to give it one more try even thought Lucy pull the football away time and time again.
It’s a good way to focus on the try because it sometimes takes a lot of perseverance to succeed!
