Renewable Energy: The Real Cost
Bright Green Lies: How the Environmental Movement Lost Its Way and What We Can Do About it
By Derrick Jensen, Lierre Keither and Max Wilbert
Monkfish Book Publishing Company (2021)
Book Review
The main premise of this book is that fossil fuels, especially oil, are functionally irreplaceable – that there is no way we can run our present industrialized society on renewable energy alone. A “Bright Green” environmentalist, according to the authors, is one who believes that green technology and design, along with ethical consumerism, will allow our modern, high-energy lifestyle to continue indefinitely.
The bulk of the book examines the massive environmental degradation associated with each of the renewable technologies, alongside major economic obstacles that prevent them from replacing fossil fuels. The authors devote an entire chapter to Germany. Despite spending tens of billions of dollars annually subsidizing renewable energy, the country derives 11.5% of its energy (30% of it biomass from clear cut forests*) from renewables.
Solar
Mining and manufacturing processes that produce silicon PVC’s are enormously energy intensive. In addition to producing hundreds of tons of CO2, the process produces large amounts of hexafluoroethane, nitrogentrifluoride and sulfur hexafluoride, greenhouse gasses tens of thousands of times more potent than CO2. They are also turning vast areas of China into wastelands where nothing grows and residents experience high cancer rates.
Wind
One Bright Green environmentalist calculates we must build 3.8 million 5MW wind turbines by 2030 to phase out our fossil fuel use by 2050. This will require 1.4 billion tons of steel for the towers and 1.9 million tons of copper for the nacelles.
The world’s largest iron mine is in an area of clear cut Amazon rainforest in Brazil. In addition to displacing hundreds of thousands of indigenous Brazilians, it (like other iron mines around the world) disseminates toxic wastes that cause cancer, birth defects and lung disease in nearby residents. Steel manufacture is the third largest source of green house gases after fossil fuels and electrical generation.
The largest global copper mine is the Rio Tinto Kennicott open pit copper mine near Salt Lake City. In addition to contaminating the region’s groundwater, the mine has contaminated the Great Salt Late with mercury, arsenic and asbestos-related chemicals.
Recycling steel and copper doesn’t significantly reduce the massive amount of energy required (and carbon emissions produced). At present, roughly 80% of steel is already recycled (the rate’s even higher for copper). Steel’s massive carbon footprint stems from the fossil fuel energy required for the 3200 degree F smelting furnaces used.
In addition, expanding US wind energy to produce 20% of the country’s total electricity is estimated to result in the death of 1.4 million birds yearly from collisions with its turbine blades. This doesn’t include bird deaths from habitat destruction or collision with towers and power lines.
Energy Storage
Unlike fossil fuels, which store energy, renewable energy technology requires separate storage infrastructure for days when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing.
The most efficient storage batteries use 40-year-old lithium based technology. Fifty percent of the world’s lithium comes from high desert basins in Nevada, Tibet, Bolivia and Chile. Lithium mines in Chile’s desert basin have totally wiped out fish and unique desert vegetation, in addition to deprive the area’s subsistence farmers of scarce water resources. Lithium batteries aren’t recycled because it makes no economic sense: It’s complex, hazardous and more expensive than mining lithium.
Other storage technologies explored include
green (produced from hydrolysis) hydrogen fuel cells – which suck up scarce clean water resources and release carcinogenic polytetrafluoroethylene (aka Teflon) to the environment.pumped hydrostorage, which requires large artificial reservoirs similar to those used for hydropower schemes. At present artificial reservoirs are responsible for 23% of all methane emissions linked to human activities.Compressed air – which is only 50% efficient and requires massive investment in CO2-producing infrastructure and freshwater consumption. The conclusion the authors reach is that serious environmentalists should stop campaigning for corporate interests promoting renewable energy technology. What they recommend instead is
1. Campaigning to stop all environmental destruction caused by so-called green energy projects; oil, gas and coal extraction: urban sprawl; road building; industrial agriculture; deforestation; the destruction of coastal wetlands and peat bogs and the production of nuclear energy and weapons
2. Helping to heal the planet by promoting natural carbon sequestration
through regenerative farming and pastoral management** andrestoring wild grasses, forests and seaweed.3. Campaigning to downsize energy consumption by transitioning from a perpetual growth to a steady state economy.
4. Campaigning to reduce hyper consumption and overpopulation (by liberating women***).
5. Adopting the same attitudes and behaviors required to prepare for the collapse of civilization (which looks increasingly likely). In other words, working to rebuild local communities to be self-sufficient and respectful of all life (including human beings).
*At present Germany imports timber and wood chips from clear cutting operations in the US, Canada, South Africa, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Norway, Belarus, and Ukraine to feed its biofuel industry. Much of this timber is sourced from US Southern wetland forests that are being cleared four times faster than the Amazon.
**The nacelle is the cover housing that houses all of the generating components in a wind turbine, including the generator, gearbox, drive train, and brake assembly.
***Research reveals that increase the carbon content of our soils by 2% would offset 100% of our greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.
****Empowering women to pursue secondary and tertiary education is consistently associated with lower fertility rates.

Foo Fighters ‘Vaccinated Only’ Concert Canceled After Band Member Gets COVID as Breakthrough Cases Rise

As of July 12, the CDC reported 5,492 breakthrough COVID cases resulting in hospitalization or death. Meanwhile, states continue to report more breakthrough cases, and the New York Yankees cancel series opener after fully vaccinated players test positive.
Reports of COVID breakthrough cases continue to rise — as of July 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 5,492 breakthrough cases resulting in death and hospitalization.A breakthrough case refers to anyone who is diagnosed with COVID after being fully vaccinated. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccine, or two weeks after receiving the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine.
In May, the CDC revised its system for reporting breakthrough cases, stating it would count only those cases that result in hospitalization or death. Previously, the agency had included in its breakthrough count anyone who tested positive for COVID.
Some states follow the new CDC guidance for counting breakthrough cases. Other states continue to report, at the state level, all cases where an individual tests positive, but may choose to report only hospitalizations and deaths to the CDC.
Illinois, Massachusetts update breakthrough case numbers
According to data updated July 14 by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 151 people in Illinois have died from COVID or COVID-related complications after being fully vaccinated. At least 563 fully vaccinated people were hospitalized, IDPH said.
Illinois follows CDC guidance, reporting only on breakthrough infections among those who have been hospitalized or died. The state does not publicize the number of residents who tested positive after being fully vaccinated but did not die or require hospitalization in order to “help maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance,” IDPH’s website states.

Undercut by Data, Globalists Resort to Full Censorship
The current claim is that the people who disagree with the corporate media and the regime (which are the same thing) are like babies who need to have their thoughts controlled by the regime, but the reality is that most people who are standing against the deadly big pharma poison shots are well informed on the data.
![]()
This is something that appears to have gone under the radar when it appeared, but is important to note: In March, MIT published a study on coronavirus and big pharma skeptics after studying their social media habits. They found that the majority of the voices in the skeptic movement were not morons, but rather highly informed, and were using the available data to make their argument.
Of course, anyone who has spent five minutes looking at the counter-arguments to this globalist virus hoax knows that skeptics are obsessed with data. However, it is very interesting that the establishment admitted this, and yet, the media continues to frame skeptics as uniformed morons who are fighting back against the government because they’ve been lied to by disinformation.
The corporate media must maintain the illusion that there are only two choices:
You agree with everything the corporate media and regime say, orYou…View original post 1,512 more words
Reality Check #3–Only One of The Top Ten Most Populous Countries Over 20% Fully Vaccinated !!!
Numbers seem consistent with “official” data sources:

The media carries a false line frequently. They lead to you believe that almost the whole world is fully vaccinated with their cheerleading of the vaccines and selective reporting .
But ,as this blog has been reporting, the big picture is not so rosy.
And given the thousand dying as a result of taking the vaccines and almost 2 million injured as a result of the vaccines one wonders whether the present rate of vaccine take up will continue.
Note the numbers from ‘worldwide data’ source for July 17:
China , 16%, India 5.9%, US 48%, Pakistan 5%, Nigeria 0-1%, Indonesia 5%, Brazil 16%, Bangladesh 5%, Russia 14%, Mexico 17%.
Proven , effective , cheap, take at home early treatments involving hydroxychloroquine and / or ivermectin would see a far larger take up and save billions of dollars and save thousands of lives because of no lockdowns.
On ‘Freedom Day’, Boris Johnson Announces Mandatory Vaccine Passports
The measures are being introduced to bully the 35% of 18 to 30-year-olds who haven’t taken the jab into getting it.

On the occasion labeled ‘freedom day’, the UK government announced that vaccine passports would be mandatory to enter “crowded venues” from the end of September.
Gee, I feel so free!
After initially denying that domestic, vaccine passports would ever be introduced, Boris Johnson’s government feverishly set about creating the framework for them.
Now on the very day that all coronavirus restrictions were supposed to be lifted, the UK’s vaccines minister has announced what basically amounts to medical apartheid.
“By the end of September everyone aged 18 and over will have the chance to receive full vaccination and the additional two weeks for that protection to really take hold,” said Nadhim Zahawi.
“So at that point we plan to make full vaccination a condition of entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather.”
From the end of September, people will also have the option…

US made drones inferior, cost more than Chinese ones they’ve replaced: spells trouble for Biden
Audio of Article – Mp3America’s fundamental weakness here is that it remains an ultra-capitalist economy that has subsequently offshored manufacturing and embraced global markets as big corporations do, but then on a political level decided, against the flow of the market, that it does not like this system anymore, because a rival country dominates it.

The difficulties of America’s efforts to wean itself off Chinese technology have been revealed, after the Pentagon spent over $13m developing far less capable aerial devices. It’s a stark illustration of wider economic woes.
Last year the Trump administration took the step ofgroundingthe entire federal government fleet of drones, many of which were made by Chinese company DJI. Amounting to an inventory of more than 800, the White House was concerned they were being used for espionage and demanded that they be made in America instead.
Biden has embraced this policy wholeheartedly, Congress is currently busypushing legislation which will restrict themeven further. Butas a recent Financial Times report has revealed, this is not having the intended results. Being forced to produce drones made in the US, the government now finds itself paying eight to 14 times more for a…

France rises up against the new fascism
Despite the vast levels of militarised repression used against the Yellow Vests, not to speak of the relentless propaganda in the mass media, the movement never abandoned the struggle. Only the “emergency” of the Covid crisis pushed it, more or less, off the streets. The spirit of revolt has not been very much in evidence in France since March 2020, with the population divided and fearful, as elsewhere. But now, with the announcement that vaccine passports will be required for cafés, restaurants, leisure centres, shopping malls and trains, something seems to have snapped.

“The people have woken up – at last!” declared local Gilet Jaune rebel Michelle as she watched the vast crowds assembling on the main square of Montpellier in southern France.
She has been involved with the Yellow Vest movement since the very start of the popular revolt against the Macron regime in November 2018.
Two years ago, in April 2019, another Gilet Jaune told me on the same spot, the Place de la Comédie, that France was witnessing “a turning point in history”.

Might COVID Injections Reduce Lifespan?
Dr Joseph Mercola Interviews Dr Vladimir Zelenko
Story at-a-glanceEvidence suggests people who have received the COVID “vaccine” may have a reduced lifespan as a result of the acute, subacute and long-term effects from the COVID injectionIf you’ve gotten the COVID shot, consider yourself high risk for COVID and implement a daily prophylaxis protocol. This means optimizing your metabolic flexibility, vitamin D, and taking vitamin C, zinc and a zinc ionophore on a daily basis, at least throughout cold and flu seasonEvidence shows NAC may be used to prevent blood clots and break up any that might already have formedIf you’re low risk for COVID and have not been vaccinated, make sure you have these items on hand and begin treating at the very first signs of cold or flu symptomsAlso buy yourself a tabletop jet nebulizer, some saline solution and food grade hydrogen peroxide. Nebulized peroxide is an excellent go-to both for prevention and treatment, regardless of the stage the respiratory infection is in. For prevention, nebulize every other day. For treatment, use at first signs of respiratory infectionIn this interview, return guest Dr. Vladimir Zelenko discusses an incredibly serious concern, one shared with at least two other highly credible experts — Michael Yeadon, Ph.D., a life science researcher and former vice-president and chief scientist of allergy and respiratory research at Pfizer, and professor Luc Montagnier, a world-renowned virologist who won the Nobel prize for his discovery of HIV.
Yeadon, Montagnier and Zelenko all believe the COVID-19 shots could reduce life expectancy by several decades, depending on several factors, including whether you’re required to get booster shots. In fact, there may be reason to suspect that many who get the jabs and subsequent boosters could lose their lives within two to three years, as a result of pathogenic priming.1,2
[…]
Risk Category No. 1 — Acute RisksThe acute phase of harm begins at the moment of injection and likely lasts for about three months or so. Based on reports filed with the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), it’s clear that many cannot survive past the acute phase.
About 6,000 deaths have been reported so far, and death commonly occurs within 48 hours of injection. Many serious disabling events also occur rather rapidly, typically within a few days or weeks. However, Zelenko has a very dismal perspective on the accuracy of the VAERS database. He explains:
“According to a paper published by the Salk Institute in San Diego, they’ve discovered that the spike protein that’s generated through the vaccination itself has negative health effects. It’s toxic … on its own …
There’s plenty of evidence that shows that it spreads from the injection site and goes to the bloodstream, and basically comes into every single cell in the body.3,4
mRNA has a half-life of around one to two weeks, depending on the mRNA, and during that interim, each mRNA molecule makes around 2,000 to 5,000 spike proteins. So, we’re talking about trillions and trillions of spike proteins.
Your entire body becomes a spike protein factory. Several orders of magnitude more than if you were to get COVID, because COVID infects the upper and lower airways primarily. Those are the cells that get infected and begin to produce spike proteins. But here we’re injecting the vaccine and it actually travels to every single cell in your body and converts every single cell in your body into a factory for spike proteins.”
As the mRNA disseminates through your vascular system, the cells lining your blood vessels begin producing spike protein. This is why we’re seeing such a staggering number of reports of people experiencing blood clots from these injections.
According to Zelenko, 40% of these events occur within the first two days after injection. The risk then diminishes, but vascular events such as heart attacks, strokes, renal infarcts and pulmonary infarcts don’t completely peter out until about three months after the last injection.
But these events of the past three months are not being reported to VAERS. It is, of course, possible that people simply aren’t connecting them to the COVID shot they got several months earlier.
How Many Have Actually Died From the COVID Shots? As noted by Zelenko, underreporting is part of the problem we’re facing. The real number of side effects is impossible to determine, given the fact that the Food and Drug Administration didn’t insist on a robust post-vaccination data collection system, but it’s most certainly higher than what VAERS is listing.
[…]
Risk Category No. 2 — Subacute RisksThe subacute risk phase, which begins around three months’ post-injection, is exceedingly difficult to quantify. At bare minimum, it’s likely to last several months to a couple of years. The primary concern now is antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), also referred to as pathogenic priming and/or paradoxical immune enhancement (PIE) as it more accurately describes the disease mechanism.
[…]
If Zelenko is correct, then the primary disease agent now switches from the spike protein to the antibodies produced in response to the spike protein. We don’t know how long these antibodies will last, but chances are they’ll stick around for a number of months or years.
While antibody production is the primary purpose of these shots, and the response said to provide you an immune benefit, they can actually be the source of problems.
Animal trials in which conventional coronavirus vaccines were tested have shown coronavirus vaccines routinely cause ADE,8,9,10,11,12 so when the animals are challenged with the real virus they’ve been immunized against, they can get seriously ill and even die.

Remembering the Irish Potato Famine
Star of the Sea: Farewell to Old Ireland
By Joseph O’Connor
Published by Secker and Warburg (2002)
Book Review
Although fiction, this novel is based on more than a dozen books and website documenting the Irish famine, as well five eye-witness accounts published between 1847 and 1850, and passenger manifests from the Irish and Canadian national archives.
The plot concerns a trip aboard the fictional Star of the Sea in December 1847. Passengers included 402 in steerage, fifteen in First Class staterooms and 37 crew. Among the steerage passengers were 239 Irish victims of the potato famine who could pay the £8 fare to emigrate from Liverpool to New York.
Although the failure of the potato crop (from blight) starting in 1845 is blamed for the famine leading a million Irish to die and more than 1 million to emigrate, the causes of the famine were complex. The grain crops Irish tenant farmers produced for export to England were probably sufficient to feed the entire starving peasantry. However as frequently happens, the preeminence of the export market, dramatically inflated the cost of food in local markets.
There was the added issue of landlords setting fire to the homes of farmers unable to pay rent (to replace them with sheep). In these instances, it was clearly the sudden loss of their land, not the potato blight, that caused their families to starve to death.
Only the First Class passengers received regular meals. Steerage passengers were provided with biscuits and water unless they brought their own food. With only two water closets for 402 of them, living conditions were extremely unhygienic and smelly.
During the Atlantic crossing, which took 26 days, an average of three to four steerage passengers died daily of starvation and starvation-related infectious disease.
When the Star of the Sea arrived in New York, it, like other ships with large numbers of Irish immigrants, was refused permission to dock, leading to additional deaths from starvation. First Class passengers were rowed to shore after eight days. Those in steerage remained on board for almost seven weeks, awaiting interview by police and health officials from the Office of Aliens.

White House Grants Hunter Biden License to Sell Bad Art
-text-color td-post-sharing-style16 “>

[Source: telegraph.co.uk]
By Steve Brown
Covert Action Magazine
Hunter Biden has discovered a sly new way to sell his famous family name to corrupt foreign billionaires and oligarchs. If his powerful father continues to help him behind the scenes—by twisting arms and dangling tempting U.S. loan packages—Joe Biden’s little boy might eventually wind up as rich as Donald Trump’s little girl.
Recently, like many other famous people from Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Depp and Marilyn Monroe to Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra—not to mention past Presidents such as Ulysses S. Grant, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush—Hunter Biden, second son of President Joe Biden, has taken up painting in order to, as he explained in a recent New York Times puff piece, “keep me sane.”
But his new profession is designed to keep him wealthy, too.
Georges Bergès, owner of the elegant Georges Bergès Gallery in New York’s tony Soho district, has announced that this October his entire gallery will be given over to a solo exhibition of Hunter Biden’s paintings. Hunter is a former lawyer and lobbyist with no art training who has never sold a single work in the commercial art market. But his paintings will be offered for sale at prices starting at “only” $75,000 for works on paper to $500,000 for larger canvasses, the gallery owner said.
Are Hunter’s paintings really worth half a million dollars? They may well be—to corporate lobbyists on the make, foreign countries angling for U.S. loans, or government contractors looking for a sweetheart deal—all of whom would gladly pay through the nose for Hunter’s paintings in hopes of getting a smile and a thumbs-up from his father.
When Jeffry Cudlin (Professor of Curatorial Studies and Practice at the Maryland Institute College of Art) was asked by the Washington Examiner, “How much of the value [of Hunter’s paintings] is due to the art itself? he replied, “That’s easy: None of it … They’re fine decorative amateur work. Hey, everybody needs a hobby!” Cudlin put their value at $850 to $3,000.
The Art Critic of New York magazine, Jerry Saltz, called Hunter’s work “Generic Post Zombie Formalism.”
As reported in Artnet, art critic Scott Indrisek, former editor-in-chief of Modern Painters magazine, said that, “Hunter’s paintings … remind me of … art for dermatologists’ waiting rooms.” He also compared the paintings to a screensaver and told the Washington Post, “It’s the most anonymous art I can imagine … somewhere between a screen saver and if you just Googled ‘midcentury abstraction’ and mashed up whatever came up.”
Little wonder that the White House is embarrassed at the prospect of this art sale, since it has provoked allegations that it is just another attempt by Hunter to trade on his father’s name and high public office—as he has been accused of doing in his previous questionable business dealings overseas, which have sparked the current investigation into Hunter’s finances by the Department of Justice.
But Joe Biden won’t try to stop Hunter from selling his paintings.
Instead, he is giving him a green light. Under a special “ethics protocol” worked out between the White House and the Georges Bergès art gallery, there will be no objection to Hunter’s paintings being sold for up to $500,000—as long as all buyers’ identities are kept secret from the public, and presumably from Hunter himself.
This is supposed to protect the government from those who might want to buy access or special treatment. But it will do exactly the opposite. Since the buyers will be anonymous, “you won’t be able to follow the money,” as pointed out by The Art Newspaper.
Which means that a lobbyist, or a government contractor, or a foreign government can’t really be prevented from secretly buying a $500,000 painting—and putting the money into Hunter Biden’s bank account—in order to get favored treatment from his father.
