11 Big Companies Announce Layoffs Within Last 2 Weeks

The Economic Collapse
When the economy slows down, layoffs inevitably happen. We witnessed this on a very large scale in 2008 and 2009, and now it is happening again. U.S. economic numbers are rapidly getting worse, and companies all across America don’t want to get caught with bloated payrolls as we plunge into a recession. As you will see below, many of the firms that are laying off workers are either in the real estate industry or the tech industry. Those are two industries that were on the leading edge of the “boom times”, and now it appears that they will also be on the bleeding edge as the economy crashes.
It is always a tragedy whenever any hard working American is forced out of a job. Unfortunately, what we are witnessing right now is just the beginning. The following is a list of 11 big companies that have announced layoffs within the last 2 weeks…
#1 Ultratec Inc. says that it will be laying off more than 600 workers.
#2 Electric truck maker Rivian will be laying off approximately 840 workers.
#3 7-Eleven has announced that it will be eliminating 880 corporate jobs.
#4 Shopify is laying off about 1,000 people.
#5 Vimeo says that it will be eliminating 6 percent of its current workforce.
#6 Redfin will be reducing the size of its workforce by 8 percent.
#7 Compass will be reducing the size of its workforce by 10 percent.
#8 RE/MAX will be reducing the size of its workforce by 17 percent.
#9 Robinhood will be reducing the size of its workforce by 23 percent.
#10 It is being reported that Ford “is preparing to cut as many as 8,000 jobs in the coming weeks”.
#11 Geico has closed every single one of their offices in the state of California, and that will result in vast numbers of workers losing their jobs…
GEICO, one of the largest insurance companies in the United States, reportedly closed all 38 of it’s California offices on Monday, resulting in hundreds of workers being laid off.
According to the company, GEICO would not be leaving outright, and will still be offering policies directly online, with all insurance functions continuing as normal. Buying directly through agents by phone, however, will not be possible.
“We continue to write policies in California, and we remain available through our direct channels for the more than 2.18 million California customers presently insured with us,” said GEICO in a statement on Monday.
On top of everything else, Amazon has announced that it reduced the size of its workforce by approximately 100,000 workers in just one quarter…
With recession fears mounting — and inflation, the war in Ukraine and the lingering pandemic taking a toll — many tech companies are rethinking their staffing needs, with some of them instituting hiring freezes, rescinding offers and making rounds of layoffs.
Amazon.com Inc. was one of the latest companies to discuss its belt-tightening efforts this week. During its quarterly earnings call Thursday, the e-commerce giant said it’s been adding jobs at the slowest rate since 2019. After relying on attrition to winnow its staff, Amazon now has about 100,000 fewer employees than in the previous quarter.
You could fill up two very large football stadiums with 100,000 workers.
Eventually, this wave of job losses will become a tsunami, and millions of Americans will suddenly find that they are unable to continue paying their bills.
Meanwhile, our new housing crash is starting to pick up speed as well.
In fact, we just witnessed an absolutely massive spike in the number of Americans that are searching for the term “sell my home fast” on Google…

The Monkeypox Left?
Red Fire
05-08-2022: Could it be happening? Is it possible that the self-described left parties which fell hook, line and sinker for the Covid fraud would follow this by embracing the folly of Monkeypox as the next “pandemic”? Early signs are not encouraging.
As we have emphasised previously, whether or not the SARS-CoV-2 virus exists and is pathogenic, Covid never reached anything resembling a pandemic, but was rather a political cover for an attempted re-set of global capitalism at the expense of the working class and whole swathes of small businesses. It was in practice a civil war waged by the wealthiest ruling classes in history against workers and the oppressed.
Elite politicians and a compliant media, on behalf of mega-billionaires, sold a bogus narrative that people were now bearers of life-threatening pathogens which meant that we had to submit to being continuously tested, drugged, covered up and controlled. The fact that the politicians themselves were exempt from the dangerous mRNA injections we were told was “the only way out of the pandemic” – in itself gave the game away. Millions of workers, meanwhile, were terminated for refusing to endanger their health by taking the potentially deadly vaccines, and the “unvaccinated” were condemned as virtual heretics.
Monkeypox “emergency”
Almost all self-confessed “socialist” parties vigorously endorsed and enforced Covid hysteria, irrespective of previously accepted scientific doctrines. Yet, it did not take long for at least one party of the “Covid left” to take a step into the new realm of a “Monkeypox left”. No sooner had the World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General declared Monkeypox a ”public health emergency of international concern”, the Socialist Equality Party (SEP) leapt into action by fantastically declaring that earlier isolation and testing could have prevented the “outbreak”.
This while acknowledging that the WHO Director-General also admitted that the supposed Monkeypox virus is concentrated amongst men who have sex with men, especially those with multiple partners. That is to say, if we stretch the bounds of credibility far enough, Monkeypox is a sexually transmitted disease, which cannot justify society wide lockdowns and the shutdown of whole economic sectors.
Yet nothing is beyond rationality in the name of “public health” as far as the SEP is concerned. Last week, the SEP condemned Australian schools for NOT imposing facemasks on children allegedly to protect against Covid. This is despite any number of medical professionals advising against mandatory masking, for adverse effects such as potentially permanent neurological damage to children through oxygen deprivation.
Socialist Alternative (SAlt), who organised counter-demonstrations against anti-vaccine mandate rallies under the guise of their front group Campaign Against Racism and Fascism (!), were barely a step behind the SEP in their condemnation of Australian politicians for lifting facemask mandates. Once again, SAlt are demanding more “Covid” restrictions and mandates than even the most conservative capitalist politicians are prepared to implement.
According to SAlt, who are arguably the most vocal in proclaiming themselves “Marxist”, lockdowns, border closures, facemask mandates, and vaccine mandates where the Big Pharma manufacturers are legally indemnified – are all just public health measures! Workers losing their jobs, the loss of freedom of movement, being locked down in your house (if you have one – just ask the homeless) by the armed force of the state – all of these and more are imposed in the interests of your health – or so SAlt would have us believe.
If there was one party on the Australian left which preached against overt alliances between labour and political representatives of capital, it was the Trotskyist Platform (TP). Yet all of their years-long pulpit pounding on this principle vanished overnight with the appearance of Covid. As soon as lockdowns became a part of an unfortunately common vocabulary, TP instead turned against those who even suggested that the openly bourgeois Labor, Liberal and Green politicians might not be telling the truth about Covid.
Workers who suspected that enforced lockdowns and vaccine mandates might actually be part of an ulterior motive by the elite classes were all of a sudden “far-right” – which must have been news to them. So much does TP embrace the ruling class Covid ideology, they now declare that 2022 has been the worst year of the pandemic, and “hundreds of thousands” are suffering from Long Covid !! At the very least, these “Trotskyists” take their own name deeply in vain.

Gunpowder and the Decline of the Steppes Nomads
Episode 34: Legacy of the Steppes
Barbarian Empires of the Steppes (2014)
Dr Kenneth Harl
Film Review
By 1500, the steppes nomads had ceased to play the strong historical role (as a military power and means to wealth creation and cultural exchange) they had played for 6,000 years.
In this final lecture, Harl credits their loss of power to the military revolution in Europe leading to hand held weapons and naval vessels fitted with heavy artillery. Ironically both these developments were made possibly by the Mongol Peace allowing the spread of Chinese black gunpowder to Europe.* Nomad horse archers were virtually powerless against firearms.
By 1500. the Ottoman Empire, Safavid Iran, Russia and the Mughal Empire were encroaching on the steppes, restricting nomad movement and exacting tribute along the Silk Road.
The Silk Road also declined in importance (as did the caravan cities) during the 16th century as European explorers discovered faster and safer sea routes to Europe and the Middle East. Harl explores in detail the Portuguese occupation of both coasts of Africa and India as they dominated the India Ocean. In the 17th century, they would be joined by the Dutch, English and French in their colonization of Africa and Asia.
In summing up the legacy of the steppes nomads, Harl points to the domestication of the horse and the invention of the wheel. Both, he feels, were as important as the agricultural revolution. Not only did the two inventions open up the steppes grasslands to human habitation, but they linked the steppes nomads to the prehistoric sedentary civilizations arising along major Middle East and Asian rivers.
*Ironically this was one of the few Eastern cultural innovations to make it as far as Europe.

Scientist tells Senate: Fauci lying about coronavirus research in China
(Official White House photo by Tia Dufour)
WND
NIH official’s statements to Congress ‘are demonstrably false’
Testifying Wednesday before the Senate, a prominent health scientist charged that Dr. Anthony Fauci and other federal health officials have repeatedly lied to Congress about the government’s funding of gain-of-function research in China, which is believed by many experts to be the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Richard Ebright, a professor of molecular biology at Rutgers University, said statements “made on repeated occasions to the public, to the press and to policymakers by the NIAID director, Dr. Fauci, have been untruthful.”
“I do not understand why those statements are being made because they are demonstrably false,” he said.
The hearing, “Revisiting Gain-of-Function Research: What the Pandemic Taught Us and Where Do We Go From Here,” was held by the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Spending Oversight.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., the panel’s ranking member, has sparred over the issue in numerous Senate hearings with Fauci, who has insisted the NIH has not funded gain-of-function research in China despite evidence to the contrary.
Ebright was among the 16 scientists who authored a letter published last September in the prestigious British science journal The Lancet calling for another look at the evidence that the pandemic began with a lab leak. The scientists condemned a February 2020 letter organized by Wuhan lab collaborator Peter Daszak marginalizing anyone who entertained the lab-leak theory as a conspiracist. Ebright and his 15 colleagues said Daszak’s letter and a subsequent missive had “a silencing effect on the wider scientific debate, including among science journalists.” Fauci received an email from Daszak at the time thanking the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases director for supporting him on his dismissal of the lab-leak theory.
In his testimony Wednesday, Ebright argued that research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology funded by the National Institutes of Health to increase the lethality and transmissibility of bat coronaviruses fits the definition of gain-of-function research.
“Gain-of-function research of concern involves the creation of new health threats – health threats that did not exist previously and that might not have come to exist by natural means for tens, hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of years,” Ebright said.
In an exchange with Paul during a Senate hearing in May 2021, Fauci stated emphatically that the NIH “has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
Another witness was Dr. Steven Quay, whose research became part of a State Department probe of the origin of COVID-19 under President Trump. Quay, chief executive officer at Atossa Therapeutics Inc., co-wrote a Wall Street Journal column last December citing four studies, including two from the World Health Organization, that provide strong evidence for the lab-leak theory. One study, published by Nature Medicine, concluded the original SARS-CoV-2 pathogen was 99.5% optimized for human infection, which is strong confirmation of the lab-leak hypothesis.
Quay was asked Wednesday by Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., if he was concerned about the expansion of Chinese gain-of-function research.
Quay pointed out that in December 2019, Chinese researchers were “doing synthetic biology on a cloning vector of the Nipah virus, which is 60% lethal.”
“We just experienced a 1% lethal virus,” he said, referring to SARS-CoV-2.
Noting the Black Plague was a 20% lethal event that set the world back 250 years, a pandemic of the Nipah virus, in his estimation, would “set us back a millennium.”

Rand Paul: Congress Not Allowed To Know About TOP SECRET Gain Of Function Research Committee

NWO Report
Posted BY: Steve Watson
Appearing on Fox News to discuss the first ever Senate hearing on gain of function research, Rand Paul revealed that there is a committee that is supposed to oversee such experimentation with potentially lethal viruses, but that it is above the oversight of Congress.
Paul noted that according to scientists who testified on Capitol Hill yesterday, “the committee that is supposed to review these viruses is secret.”
“We don’t know the names. We don’t know that they ever meet, and we don’t have any records of their meetings,” the Senator reiterated, adding “It’s top-secret. Congress is not allowed to know. So whether the committee actually exists, we’re uncertain.”
“We do know that they’ve met three times and there are thousands of gain-of-function research proposals. They’ve only met three times, they’ve only reviewed three projects,” Paul continued.
Three scientists testified during the hearing, they were Dr. Richard Ebright, laboratory director of the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University, Kevin Esvelt, assistant professor of media arts and sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab, and Dr. Steven Quay, CEO of Atossa Therapeutics Inc.

The Coming Collapse of the Air Travel Industry

Toronto Sun
Food production and the fossil fuel industries are not the only ones on the globalists’ chopping block. Last weekend I was invited to a zoom call with the German firebrand MEP Christine Anderson who gave us a brief report about the recent vote in the EU parliament to extend the Covid pass requirement for another year.
The parliament voted in favor of the extension in plenary session in spite of the fact that the measure is wholly useless and unjustified – to say nothing of the fact that 99% of Europeans are opposed to it. Mrs. Anderson’s explicit assessment on the matter was that EU’s democracy is a sham and a fraud. The plenary never debated the measure – they simply took the vote. Why the majority of MEPs voted in favor is entirely a mystery, and a sinister one at that.
But perhaps the most interesting and unexpected part of the 3 hour long call was about the airline industry. Three of the participants on the call had deep inside knowledge of the airline industry (one of them a pilot) who said in no uncertain terms that the industry is now being systematically and deliberately demolished. Apparently, the ultimate purpose is to kill airline travel altogether. The three participants asked that their names not be used, but they seemed exceptionally well informed and entirely credible. At any rate, the news flow has pretty well corroborated their claims.
[…]It is quite apparent that something IS going on with air travel – a sudden wave of dysfunction, like we are experiencing in energy industry, oil production, supply chains and health care. Perhaps I missed a few. And while the media has reported chaos at many airports around the world (pretty much everywhere, it seems), the explanations seem innocent enough: the airports are understaffed and can’t cope with sudden surge of travellers. Here’s a small sampling of the recent reports:
Daily Mail, 31 May 2022: What’s causing the chaos at the airports?CNA, 10 June 2022: Airport chaos around the world and how to avoid it.RT, 4 September 2021: CHAOS at London’s Heathrow AirportWashington Post, 13 Jun 2022: What to know about the travel chaos at Europe’s airportsExpress.co.uk, 27 Jun 2022: Airport chaos: all countries reporting major delays….ZeroHedge, 27 Jun 2022: 6,500 US Flights Delayed Sunday Amid Continued US Travel Chaos...All of a sudden, we have thousands of flights cancelled or delayed, luggage handling process stalling, hours’ wasted in check-in and security checks, and all this happening pretty much everywhere? Coincidence theorists will swallow the official explanations with a shrug of acceptance, but I do find all this extremely strange.
The traffic management systems that have evolved for nearly a century and that had functioned close to flawlessly for decades, now suddenly seem to be coming apart at the seams. If what the gentlemen on our zoom call were saying was true, airport chaos could become a chronic thing. Indeed, another person on the call, who said she’d read through many of the WEF documents and all of UN’s Agenda 2020/30/50/etc. said that this is all actually written down as an explicit objective. She said that the ultimate intent is to do away with travelling and to establish a feudal arrangement where people remain fixed in place and all travel is banned.
Of course, we don’t need to make too much out of such documents – they simply reflect someone’s stated vision of the kind of social arrangement they believe desirable for whatever reason. On the other hand, the price of liberty is eternal vigilance, and by this time, the least we should do is pay attention. The coincidence theorists in our midst, the ever loyal consumers of the mainstream narrative are always happy to disperse when told to do so because “there’s nothing to see here…” However, this cohort has had an extremely poor prediction track record, especially over the last two+ years. For most of the rest of us, it is indeed time to pay very close attention and seed the system with due friction if it is veering toward undesirable ends. This is our future that’s at stake and the world our children and their children will inherit. It is time to be brave.
While the high priests of Davos may not be able to carry out their plans to completion, they have proven powerful enough to cause a great deal of damage.

Pharma Eyes Big Profits in Nasal Vaccines — Should We Really Spray Nanoparticles So Close to the Brain?

Vaccine manufacturers set their sights on nasal vaccines at least two decades ago, but so far product development has remained sluggish as scientists acknowledge that only a “thin partition” separates the nasal cavity from the brain.
According to Our World in Data, more than 12 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered around the world, all via injection.
Trying to soften up the American public for an endless parade of COVID-19 boosters and other vaccines, Dr. Anthony Fauci is now alleging the “job is not done” and the jabs “don’t protect overly well.”
Fauci made his “job is not done” statement at a recent White House gathering of scientists, doctors and federal health officials convened to brainstorm “next-generation” COVID-19 vaccines.
Nasal sprays “that people would shoot into their sinuses” are one of the options put forth as a potential game-changer, the theory being that they would offer “easy access to a key part of the immune system” and generate protection that one journalist colorfully described as both a “motion detector” and “alarm system.”
The nasal route offers advantages for manufacturers, too, including “convenience, cost, ease of administration and disposal” — and, at least hypothetically, increased odds children and adults with “extreme fear of medical procedures involving injections or hypodermic needles” will accept them.
Although nasal vaccines have been a glimmer in vaccine manufacturers’ eyes for at least two decades, product development has, for the most part, remained “sluggish,” with scientists citing safety issues and acknowledging that only a “thin partition” separates the nasal cavity from the brain.
Another factor blamed for the “slow progress” of nasal vaccines — and of potential mucosal vaccines involving oral, ocular, rectal or vaginal delivery — is the “scarcity of optimal delivery systems.”
Undaunted, vaccine scientists wedded to a nasal assault are now declaring nanotechnology will save their bacon.
But how are members of the public, even those who are needle-averse, likely to feel about the fact that scientists are quite intentionally engineering supercharged nasal vaccines — and a panoply of other “nose-to-brain” drugs — to circumvent the blood-brain barrier and storm the brain?
Nasal flu vaccines a bust
It is worth noting that no nasal vaccines have passed muster with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2003, when the agency licensed FluMist — the first “live virus” influenza vaccine marketed in the U.S.
FluMist was developed by MedImmune, a company acquired by , to mark its “formal embrace of biologicals.”
One wonders whether AstraZeneca considers its FluMist acquisition worthwhile — in 2009, only a few months after the FDA endorsed a swine flu (H1N1) version of the nasal vaccine, AstraZeneca had to recall nearly 5 million doses for reasons of “lost potency.”
Then, during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 flu seasons, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took FluMist off its recommended list because “no protective benefit could be measured.”
Although the CDC resurrected the spray in 2018-2019, after AstraZeneca claimed to have reformulated the vaccine, the agency still stopped short of “explicitly endors[ing]” it.
Europe markets AstraZeneca’s nasal vaccine as Fluenz Tetra.
The Serum Institute of India also makes an intranasal influenza vaccine called Nasovac-S that has given rise to similar reports of “low efficacy” or “effectiveness not yet shown.”
Nanoparticles to the rescue
To better the lukewarm performance of nasal vaccines, vaccine scientists have turned to the use of nanotech-improved delivery systems that enhance antigen stability in the “harsh” mucosal environment.
Nanoparticles and nanoemulsions are core features of the dozen or so nasal vaccines that have made it into preclinical or clinical trials.
Already in 2005, authors were communicating “considerable excitement within the nanotechnology field with regard to the potential use of nanosystems as carriers for mucosal vaccine delivery,” and especially as a strategy for strengthening the vaccines’ “capacity to cross biologic barriers.”
Now, with the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 shots having at long last broken the ice with their lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery systems, the developers of nasal vaccines are raring to enter the fray.
LNPs are mRNA vaccine makers’ declared solution for their technology’s notorious instability. In nasal vaccines, the use of LNPs or similar “nanosystems” would have the same goals — to “facilitate transport” of the vaccine’s payload across the nasal cavity and protect it “from degradation in the biologic environment.”
Early on, European regulators voiced concerns about the “encapsulation efficiency” of Pfizer’s LNPs, citing evidence from commercial batches that the nanoparticles were doing a terrible job of keeping the mRNA “intact.”
Moreover, scientists openly worried that little was known about “precisely where the liposomal nanoparticles [were] going after injection.”
Subsequent events have proven these Cassandras right, with pathologists not only documenting the crossing of “biologic barriers” but also revealing life-threatening alterations in the brain and other organs.
Would nasal sprays be more benign than their injectable counterparts? Experience thus far urges caution.
As an otherwise enthusiastic author wrote in 2020, in the journal Mucosal Vaccines, there is little doubt the “inflammatory immune responses” generated by the nose’s encounter with the vaccine antigen “would result in sustained pathologic inflammation.”
Another warning sign comes from testing of mucosal adjuvants (substances added to boost the immune response) in nasal vaccines.
When scientists tried out bacterial toxins from cholera and E. coli as adjuvants, the toxins produced neurological “side effects” like Bell’s palsy. Untroubled, they hypothesized that the bacterial toxins must have been “re-directed into the brain” and that it might not be such a good idea to use them.
Even without the use of potent LNP technology, FluMist — which contains a host of “traditional” vaccine ingredients including MSG, egg protein, gentamicin sulfate (an antibiotic) and gelatin, all associated with post-vaccination anaphylaxis and allergy symptoms — produced serious adverse reactions.
These reactions include heart conditions, neurological problems like Guillain-Barré syndrome, Bell’s palsy, meningitis and acute brain inflammation, and allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity symptoms (rapid swelling and/or hives), asthma and wheezing and rash — the very types of adverse events now being reported on an alarmingly widespread scale after COVID-19 vaccines.
And the rise of nanoparticulate delivery systems with “yet to be established” safety profiles introduces a range of new questions about toxicity.
One area of concern is the proposed use of the “stealth polymer” polyethylene glycol (PEG) in nasal vaccines.
Children’s Health Defense issued a series of warnings about PEG months before the authorization of the PEG-containing mRNA COVID-19 injections, calling out the unique PEG-associated risks of anaphylaxis and other systemic side effects.
PEG-related side effects reported in the literature include hypersensitivity reactions, “unexpected changes in pharmacokinetic behavior” (referring to the processes of “absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion”), “toxic side products” and “possible accumulation in the body.”

Study: Chemicals in Air Pollution Linked with Death, Illness and Lowered IQ

Chemical Free Life
Another scientific study has demonstrated the close link between toxic chemicals in air pollution and public health problems. This new study is the first to examine far-reaching public health consequences of air pollution in a U.S. state on a town-by-town basis. The study found air-pollution-related disease, death and IQ loss occurred in every city and town studied, regardless of demographics or income level. Highest rates were in the most economically disadvantaged and socially under-served cities and towns.
Study overview:
The research team studied pollution levels in Massachusetts* and compared them to incidents of serious illness**, deaths and IQ loss in children in the area. (Massachusetts meets federal clean air guidelines and air pollution in the U.S. has declined 70 percent since the passage of the Clean Air Act in the 1970s.) The team determined levels for all cities and towns using available data and computer modeling.
*More than 95 percent of air pollution in Massachusetts results from the combustion of fossil fuels. Cars, trucks, buses, planes, trains and ships produced two-thirds of pollutant emissions-655,000 tons — in 2017, the most recent year for which data were available. Power plants, industrial facilities, and home heating and cooking produced 283,000 tons. In all, these sources emitted 938,000 tons of pollutants.
Fine particulate air pollution is linked to multiple non-communicable diseases in adults, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, lung cancer and diabetes. Among infants and children air pollution increases risk for premature birth, low birth weight, stillbirth, impaired lung development, and asthma.
Study Findings:
All of these health effects occurred at pollution levels below current EPA standards.
Air pollution chemicals are a silent killer responsible for an estimated 2,780 deaths a year in Massachusetts, and for measurable cognitive loss in children exposed to fine particulate pollutants in the air they breathe.
Of the 2,780 deaths attributable to air pollution in Massachusetts in 2019, at least 2,185 were due to lung cancer 1,677 to heart disease, 343 to chronic lung disease, and 200 to stroke.
Air pollution was responsible for 15,386 cases of pediatric asthma and an estimated 308 low-birth weight babies (5.5 lbs. or less).
The scientists estimate the cumulative impact of exposure to air pollution on childhood cognitive development in Massachusetts in 2019 was a loss of almost 2 million Performance IQ points, or more than 2 IQ points for the average child. IQ loss impairs children’s school performance and reduces graduation rates.

The US Military Just Used To Help Dementia Patient Try To Start WW3
By Caitlin Johnstone
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has left Taiwan after a brief but diplomatically corrosive visit, the aftereffects from which may be felt for years to come.
Toward the end of her speech alongside Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, Pelosi’s brain underwent one of its increasingly common software glitches, causing her to begin babbling inarticulately.
Here is a transcript of what Nancy Pelosi’s brain said:
“In our earliest days at our founding of our country, Benjamin Franklin, our presidency, said, freedom and democracy. Freedom and democracy, one thing, security here. If we don’t have- we can’t have either, if we don’t have both.”
Nancy Pelosi in Taiwan with wise words from “Benjamin Franklin, our presidency” on “freedom and democracy on one thing, security here.” pic.twitter.com/mElfFUoF5C
— Max Blumenthal (@MaxBlumenthal) August 3, 2022
Of course Benjamin Franklin was neither a president of the United States nor a “presidency”, and the quote Nancy’s floundering brain was reaching for was “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” These are not difficult things to remember or articulate for someone with functioning gray matter.
This is right up there with other famous neural malfunctions by the speaker, like her “Bernie loves hearing” gibberish from last year or her bizarre “Good morning, Sunday morning” restart in the middle of an interview a couple of years ago, and it calls to mind a DC pharmacist’s casual remark in 2017 that he had filled prescriptions to treat Alzheimer’s disease for some powerful decision makers on Capitol Hill.
None of which would be a problem, if we were talking about some little old lady whiling away her twilight years at a retirement home in Florida. But we are not; we are talking about one of the most powerful elected officials in the most powerful government on earth, third in the line of succession to the presidency after the vice president.
More importantly, we are talking about someone who just participated in an incendiary visit to Taiwan which has ensured the escalation of dangerous cold war tensions between major world powers, and could potentially have triggered a hot war with China.

US war machinery, including aircraft carriers and large planes, were mobilized to provide security for Pelosi’s visit ahead of her arrival. The United States military was literally just used to help a dementia patient try to start World War Three.
China’s response to Pelosi’s provocation has thankfully been relatively measured, though we’re about to see Taiwan fully encircled by the Chinese navy for a show of force unlike anything we’ve seen in decades, and Chinese sanctions upon Taiwanese commerce are still being announced. There will be political pressure in Beijing to escalate tensions with the US so as not to look weak, and the intensity of the new cold war has certainly been ratcheted up a notch, but when it comes to hot war it looks like humanity’s better angels have prevailed for now.
None of this makes it acceptable for the world’s most powerful government to send a politician whose brains are leaking out her ears to try to stir up hostilities under cover of its military forces.
The world is a worse place now than it was before Pelosi’s plane touched down. Less safe, less wealthy, less kind, and more frightening. Not one ordinary person has benefitted from her insanely hawkish provocation made in her final years on this earth, especially not the people of Taiwan.
The US empire is sick, and it is playing sick games with all our lives. As far as I’m concerned, its downfall can’t come soon enough.
