Rent-a-crowd CEO lifts lid on US protest industry’s ‘dirty secrets’

RT
‘All activism is incentivized activism,’ the veteran publicist has claimed
Political protests in the US are rarely acts of pure conviction, according to Adam Swart, CEO of a prominent publicity firm that supplies paid demonstrators for political and corporate events.
Swart, who founded Crowds on Demand in 2012, revealed what was described as the “dirty secrets” of his profession in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday. His company recruits and manages individuals who appear at rallies, protests, and public events on behalf of paying clients.
Swart argued that compensating activists is not unethical. He said the service allows people to engage in causes they support but might not otherwise be able to attend.
“All activism is what I call incentivized activism,” he said. “We compensate people for having their views known, but most people who attend demonstrations have some reason for being there other than the so-called purity of their beliefs.”
Swart offered examples to bolster his claim, including the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.
“How many real housewives went out to protest for [the Black Lives Matter campaign] in the summer of 2020?” he said. “Do you think it’s because they cared about institutional racism? Or do you think it’s to flex on social media?”
He added that labor unions sometimes pressure members to attend demonstrations, with threats of less favorable work shifts, and political aides are often expected to take part in campaign events during their personal time.
Paid demonstrators typically earn several hundred dollars per day, according to Swart. Nationwide publicity campaigns, he said, can cost millions. He noted that he recently turned down a $20 million offer from political interests opposed to US President Donald Trump.
Swart emphasized that his rejection of the offer was not driven by ideology but by concerns that the campaign’s likely failure would damage his firm’s reputation.
“The problem is that these are the same consultant class who propped up [former US President Joe] Biden, who propped up [former Vice President] Kamala Harris, who fundamentally failed so miserably in the 2024 election, and who have failed every single day since then in reigning in Trump’s agenda,” he said.

Trump Continues to Throw Gasoline on the Epstein Bonfire by Attacking His Own Supporter in MAGA
by Brian Shilhavy
Editor, Health Impact News
President Donald Trump poured more gasoline on the Epstein bonfire today, propelling the story into Headline News again, with a post to his Truth Social platform, where he referred to the whole matter as a “hoax” started by the Democrats.
Notice how he calls his supporters who want the Epstein files released as “PAST supporters”. He has already pressured his DOJ and FBI leaders to get on board with this new position, that the Epstein files are “a hoax”.
Here is what he said today from the White House:
But the American public is not buying it, as Americans on both the Left and the Right are now opposing Trump on this issue.
This has put a lot of pressure on GOP Congress members in the House, who have to be re-elected every two years and face mid-term elections next year.
Trump’s arch enemy in the House, and one of the only GOP Congressmen who does not take support from AIPAC, the Jewish lobby group, is Thomas Massie, who today started a campaign to get enough votes in the GOP to side with Democrats and demand that the DOJ release the “Epstein files.”
From the New York Times:
Massie moves to force a House vote on the release of the Epstein filesA leading Republican critic of President Trump has begun a long-shot effort to force a vote on whether the administration should release files related to the case of the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, deepening a G.O.P. rift on an issue that is foundational to the MAGA movement.
Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, the lone House Republican who has been willing to regularly break with Mr. Trump on major policy matters, began a procedural maneuver on Tuesday night that could lead to a vote within weeks.
It comes as Republicans from Speaker Mike Johnson on down have called for the release of the files about Mr. Epstein, who died in federal custody while awaiting sex trafficking charges, despite Mr. Trump repeatedly and urgently pressing them to move on.
The House has little power over the Justice Department, outside of compelling officials to testify in congressional hearings, so even a decisive vote on the House floor demanding the release of the files would amount to no more than a messaging vote.
But it would test whether Republicans, who have largely ceded their power to Mr. Trump, are willing to make a hard break with a president who demands unflagging loyalty.
(Mr. Trump said on Wednesday that he no longer even wanted the support of those who bought into what he called the Epstein “bullshit” — “hook, line, and sinker.”)
Republicans in Congress are navigating in real time the suddenly disparate desires of Mr. Trump and their voters, who are exerting immense pressure on them to demand more transparency from the Justice Department on the Epstein files.
House Republicans on Tuesday held together unanimously to block a Democratic effort to force a debate on the release of the files. But as more of their constituents demand the release of the files, they are looking for ways to respond.
Mr. Massie teamed on Tuesday with Representative Ro Khanna, Democrat of California, to file what is known as a discharge petition, which allows any member of the House to force legislation to the floor if a majority of House members — 218 — sign on.
By midday on Wednesday, he already had the support of at least six Republicans: Representatives Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Eric Burlison of Missouri, Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and Lauren Boebert of Colorado.
And the list was growing. (Source.)
It is still hard to know if this is 100% scripted theatrics at this point, designed to create chaos within the GOP, or if Susie Wiles and Trump vastly underestimated the backlash that was going to result from all this.

Here is the latest video from the “Anonymous” YouTube channel that was posted yesterday.
As this situation continues to escalate, mostly because Trump will not leave it alone and move on, what are Trump’s options now as he is rapidly losing his support base over this?

Panama in Turmoil Navigating Crises at the Canal
Crisis in the Jungle
Directed by Sbastian Perez Pezzani and Guilaume L’Hotellier (2025)
Film Review
The shortest route between the Atlantic and the Pacific, the 83 kilometer long Panama Canal can accommodate 30-40 ships and roughly 1.5 million tons of cargo daily. At present its biggest crisis is the growth in the size of vessels seeking to use it.
The 33 meter locks can accommodate 32 meter wide tankers, so long as Canal employees go out in rowboats and use cables to escort them. When freighters are too wide or too heavy to navigate the locks, their cargo is unloaded onto trains that transport it across the Panama isthmus for collection on the other side.
The second major crisis is a two-year drought. To raise water levels on the ocean side of the locks, the canal draws 100 million liters of fresh water annually from nearby reservoirs. The present drought has reduced by 40% the number of ships the canal can accommodate, while simultaneously producing drinking water shortages for nearby residents. The latter organized a series of protests in 2023 to block visitor access to tourist sites.
The third crisis Panama faces is the thousands of migrants using the Darian Gap, the only land route from South America to North America, on their journey to the US. The Darian Gap operates as a state within a state with human traffickers operating in broad daylight. The path is 62km long through mountainous jungle and can only be navigated on foot. After insuring their fitness to travel, El Clan (the traffickers) collects a fee from each migrant to spend the night in an open air shelter and to cross the river separating Columbia and Panama. El Clan guides only accompany the migrants the first few kilometers into their journey. Panama prohibits them from staying overnight and pays for a non-stop bus to take them to Costa Rica.

Tucker Carlson at Turning Point USA: Epstein Was Mossad Agent
By Kevin MacDonald | The Occidental Observer | July 15, 2025
Things are looking up for being able to be honest about Jewish issues in mainstream forums. I couldn’t be happier that this is coming out from a mainstream conservative at a major mainstream conservative conference. It’s been a long time coming, and we are still not there. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Carlson is much hated by the ADL which oddly has not commented on this latest faux pas. But they have lots to say about Turker’s endorsement of the great replacement “conspiracy theory.”
Carlson claimed that Epstein had “connections to a foreign government”:
“It’s extremely obvious to anyone who watches that this guy had direct connections to a foreign government.” “Now no one’s allowed to say that that foreign government is Israel because we have been somehow cowed into thinking that’s naughty.”
Lots of Jewish angst about this — and about Carlson’s statement that Jews who served in the IDF should lose their U.S. citizenship. Common sense, but since when has common sense been relevant to anything related to Jewish power. Any accusation of dual loyalty is considered anti-Semitism according to the official definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, so I guess Carlson is now officially an anti-Semite, along with Charlie Kirk and a whole lot of people who attended the conference.
From the Forward:
Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host and a leader in the Republican Party’s isolationist wing, said that Americans who previously served in the Israeli Defense Forces should have their U.S. citizenship revoked over concerns of dual loyalty. At the same time, he also criticized the Trump administration for trying to deport pro-Palestinian students who engaged in anti-Israel activity on campus.are a lot of Americans who’ve served in the IDF — they should lose their citizenship,” Carlson said in a 45-minute speech on Saturday at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida. “You can’t fight for another country and remain an American, period.”
Carlson, who has promoted antisemitic tropes [simply for saying Zelenskyy is a dictator who has suppressed Christianity] and has been associated with white nationalists [i.e., Darryl Cooper!!], explained that his position is an “obvious recognition of the truth” and applies to all countries. He mocked his critics — “they just write you off as some sort of internet freak, hater, Nazi” — and said it is “fair to demand that the people running my country love it every bit as much as I do.”
The founder of the organization Carlson spoke to is Charlie Kirk, a conservative podcaster who has accused Jews of financing “anti-white causes.” Several Trump cabinet members and Republican officials attended and spoke at the three-day conference.
And of course, Jews in high places deny Epstein had any connections to Mossad.
From the JTA comment on Naftali Bennet’s tweet:
Carlson has long faced allegations of antisemitism, including over his promotion of white supremacist ideas while on Fox News and his hosting of a Holocaust denier on his X stream last year.
More recently, he has been at the vanguard of a different divide within the MAGA movement over foreign policy, centering on Israel. Carlson and others heavily criticized Trump’s decision to join Israel’s military offensive against Iran’s nuclear program, with Carlson accusing Trump of being “complicit” in Israel’s “act of war.”
Carlson sends out a daily email to subscribers. This is from the July 14th email and basically summarizes his points at his talk. Notice he highlights Jewish activist Ben Shapiro as wanting to move on.
It seems likely that Jeffrey Epstein worked on behalf of an intelligence service. Probably not an American one.
So which country was it? The fact that so few reporters have bothered to dig into that question could prove to be this century’s most egregious example of journalistic malpractice. How did the notorious pedophile go from being a high school math teacher with no college degree to having a private island and one of the most luxurious residences in Manhattan? Doesn’t that seem weird? What was the source of his money? Why has nobody ever really looked into it?
To anyone paying attention, the obvious conclusion is that Epstein had direct connections to a foreign government. To the Israeli government. That is true even though saying it out loud is forbidden in mainstream political discourse, but there’s nothing wrong with having the gall to do just that. It doesn’t matter what screeching shills like Mark Levin say. Telling the truth is not hateful, nor is it anti-Semitic or even anti-Israel.
Criticizing the behavior of a government agency, any government agency, does not make you a bigot. It makes you a free person. You are allowed to hold them to account because you’re not a slave; you are a citizen. That means you have the right to expect your government to act in your interest and to demand that foreign governments that suck up your tax dollars do the same. Israel using America’s most famous serial sex criminal as an intelligence asset would not fit that description.
So did it happen? A few people have asked the Israeli government that question, but they’ve received no real answers. That is unacceptable. As long as America keeps cutting generous checks to that foreign power, it should have to report to us. If it refuses, no more payments. The rules are simple.
In the meantime, we can’t help but notice a strange new talking point emerging on the Right.
“The Epstein story doesn’t even matter!” the Ben Shapiros of the world now claim. “So shut up about it already!”
That is obvious nonsense. The truth behind Epstein, his death, his connections, and how he got so rich matters a lot. The pedophile wasn’t killed during a walk down the street or even in his own home. He died in a high-security prison in the heart of America’s largest city. It was supposed to be among the most secure places in the world. That means whatever force is responsible for Epstein’s demise orchestrated the killing in among the most difficult conditions possible, and they did it while hardly breaking a sweat. Whoever pulled that off really runs our country. If they could do it to him, they could definitely do it to you, too.
Why would the Shapiro caucus not want to get to the bottom of that? You know the answer. It’s because they have something to hide
The refrain on the right is that Epstein matters because he is a window into who rules the U.S. And one would be forgiven for thinking that the reason for the cover-up is to hide the involvement of Mossad in an elaborate blackmail scheme. We also deserve to know what the deep state is hiding about the JFK assassination—another phenomenally important event in which there is good reason to think that Israel and the CIA were involved, and another incident where Trump said he would be completely transparent.
Trump’s New Aid to Ukraine Amounts to ‘Very Little’ Militarily, Owing to Current Stock Depletion
Sputnik
US President Donald Trump’s latest announcement regarding new military aid to Ukraine is expected to have limited military impact due to constrained US stockpiles, Jennifer Kavanagh, a US military expert who advocates the “America First” foreign policy Trump campaigned for, told Sputnik.
Trump, alongside NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, announced a plan on Monday to provide Ukraine with additional military aid, including Patriot air defense missiles. This initiative involves European allies purchasing billions of dollars’ worth of US military equipment, including Patriots, for transfer to Kiev. Trump stressed that the US would manufacture these weapons, with European nations covering 100% of the cost, aligning with his “America First” policy by avoiding direct US taxpayer funding.
“Although the details are still a bit unclear, it seems like Europe will buy weapons from the United States to send to Ukraine. These weapons will be a mix of materiel from US stocks and from new production. But the benefits for Ukraine and effects on the battlefield will be limited. What can be drawn from US stockpiles will be constrained in quantity because US weapons reserves have been drawn down already. New production, on the other hand, won’t arrive for some time — possibly years,” Kavanagh, a senior fellow and director of military analysis at US think tank Defense Priorities, told Sputnik.
She further elaborated on specific limitations, noting, “Overall, global stockpiles of Patriot interceptors are low. Only about 600 are produced per year. It is hard to say how many more the United States will be willing to provide Ukraine, but the number will be rather small in the near term.”
The expert noted Trump avoided further escalation by not sending offensive systems to Ukraine, observing, “so far the focus appears to be on defensive systems only.”
She added that the new announcement is largely “political theater” for Trump to calm nerves regarding the air defense pressure Ukraine is facing.
“Yes, much of this is political theater. The announcement amounts to very little militarily, in my estimation,” the pundit said.
The United States had committed more than $66.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden administration, including approximately $65.9 billion since the conflict began on February 24, 2022, according to the latest fact sheet from the US Department of Defense.

Rep. Massie Files Bill to REPEAL PREP Act and Strip Big Pharma of Legal Immunity
By Nicholas Hulscher MPH
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has introduced the PREP Repeal Act (H.R. 4388), a landmark piece of legislation that would fully repeal the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act — the federal law that grants sweeping legal immunity to pharmaceutical companies for injuries caused by emergency medical countermeasures, including mRNA injections.
What the PREP Repeal Act Would Do:Fully repeals Sections 319F–3 and 319F–4 of the Public Health Service Act — ending liability protections for pandemic countermeasures.Restores the right to sue under federal and state law for injuries caused by drugs, biologics, or PREP Act–covered products.Applies retroactively to pending lawsuits and appeals.Rescinds unused federal funds from the PREP Act injury compensation fund.Includes a severability clause to ensure the bill survives court challenges.
“The PREP Act is medical malpractice martial law,” said Rep. Massie.
“The 2005 PREP Act prevents people from holding corporations accountable for the pain and suffering they cause during Presidentially declared emergencies. Americans deserve the right to seek justice when injured by government-mandated products. The PREP Repeal Act will restore that right.”
The PREP Repeal Act could be the single most important health freedom bill in Congress. It would dismantle a key pillar of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex, end blanket immunity for vaccine manufacturers, and bring long-overdue accountability for harm.
Supporting this bill is essential to restoring integrity and accountability in public health.

Florida Cracks Down on Chemtrails: Airports Must Report Planes, Pilots, and Operations
Baxter Dmitry
Beginning in October, Florida’s public airports will be legally required to file monthly reports detailing any aircraft, pilots, or operations involved in weather modification — including those associated with chemtrail-related activity — or face the loss of state funding under a new law.
Airports that fail to comply with the new reporting requirements risk losing access to state funding, while pilots and operators caught dispersing unauthorized substances into the atmosphere could face felony charges and substantial fines — penalties that Florida officials say underscore the gravity of the threat posed by covert weather modification.
Signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in June, the law prohibits the release of any substances into the atmosphere for the purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. Under the statute, airports must identify any aircraft “equipped with devices or components that release substances or chemicals” for those purposes and submit records of related flights and personnel to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is also launching a public portal to report suspected violations, adding an enforcement layer supporters say is long overdue.
Attorney General James Uthmeier notified airport operators in a letter Monday that their full compliance is essential to “catch those who seek to weaponize science” and to protect the public from “harmful chemicals and experiments.”
“We need your help to keep our state free and make sure the skies belong to the people — not to private contractors, corporate experiments, or climate extremists,” Uthmeier wrote. “In Florida, we don’t jeopardize the public health so that we can bend the knee to the climate cult.”
The law is Florida’s strongest move yet to end chemtrails and chemical sprays from aircraft tied to secretive climate or population control efforts. While mainstream sources dismiss the claims as conspiracy, supporters say the law brings needed transparency to unchecked atmospheric experiments.
The law drew national attention and sharp criticism from some lawmakers. “This bill is crazy to me,” said State Rep. Ashley Gantt, D-Miami, during legislative debate. “We’re asking in this bill to do something that is not happening in Florida,” she said. “There’s a phrase … ‘Go outside and touch some grass.’ We need to get grounded.”
But Uthmeier suggested otherwise, pointing to severe weather events like the recent Texas floods, which killed more than 100 people, as possible consequences of human interference in the atmosphere. He did not cite specific evidence but said weather modification “could have played a role.”
Florida has technically required weather modification licenses since 1957, but the Department of Environmental Protection said it has never issued a license or received an application.
Major Florida airports, including Orlando International, Orlando Executive, and Orlando Sanford, confirmed receipt of the attorney general’s letter and said they will comply with the new reporting rules.
“Neither airport performs any geoengineering or weather modification activities, nor are we aware of any activity on airport properties that must be reported at this time,” said Angela Starke, a spokesperson for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
The new reporting mandate is expected to apply to any aircraft engaged in cloud seeding, solar radiation management, or any experimental aerosol deployment, whether by government, academic, or private entities.
The law also sparked opposition from figures in the weather modification industry. Augustus Doricko, CEO of Rainmaker Technology Corp., a cloud seeding startup, testified that while no such operations are occurring in Florida, they could be used in the future to increase water supplies safely.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a statement last October clarifying that it “does not modify the weather, nor does it fund, participate in or oversee cloud seeding or any other weather modification activities.” The agency acknowledged past efforts, such as Project STORMFURY (1962–1982), which unsuccessfully attempted to weaken hurricanes through seeding.
Despite assurances from federal agencies, supporters of the Florida law argue that secretive climate engineering experiments are increasingly plausible and must be addressed. For them, the law marks a step toward reclaiming public control over the skies and preventing what they describe as a coordinated, unaccountable effort to manipulate the environment without informed consent.

Middle East Monitor July 16, 2025Egypt has officially informed the United States and Israel of its firm rejection of a proposed plan to establish humanitarian camps in the border city of Rafah, according to Egyptian diplomatic sources quoted by the the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar on Tuesday.
The sources said Cairo warned that the plan could violate terms of the peace treaty’s security agreement with Israel, which prohibits any breach of agreed security arrangements in the border areas.
The report, titled “Rafah Ghetto concerns Cairo”, said Egypt may reconsider several regional arrangements, stressing that “all scenarios are on the table, including those beyond the diplomatic level.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 13 reported that Egypt views the proposed “tent city” as a “ticking human time bomb” near the Egypt-Gaza border, warning that the relocation of hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians to the area poses a serious threat, according to RT Arabic
In addition, Israeli Channel 7 reported that Egypt’s security delegation, currently involved in mediation efforts, strongly opposed Israel’s latest military deployment map, arguing that such plans threaten Egypt’s national security, as reported by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper website.

Massie Moves to Force House Vote on Releasing Epstein Files
By Tara Suter
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on Tuesday said he would try to use a long-shot procedural gambit to force a vote on requiring the Department of Justice to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The move comes as President Trump and his administration face blowback from many within the GOP base over their handling of information about the disgraced financier, and as Trump attempts to tamp down the amount of attention the issue is receiving.
“We all deserve to know what’s in the Epstein files, who’s implicated, and how deep this corruption goes. Americans were promised justice and transparency,” Massie said Tuesday in a post on the social platform X.
“We’re introducing a discharge petition to force a vote in the US House of Representatives on releasing the COMPLETE files,” he added.
Massie’s resolution, co-sponsored by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), would require Attorney General Pam Bondi to “make publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the possession of the Department of Justice, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Attorneys’ Offices” that have links with Epstein within 30 days of the measure becoming law.
It also says the files cannot “be withheld, delayed, or redacted” should they cause “embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.”
A discharge petition requires 218 signatures to bypass House leadership and force a vote on a measure. Such petitions are rarely successful, with members of the majority often hesitant to buck their own leaders, and it is rare to see a member of the majority lead the charge on such an effort.
Massie, however, hasn’t been shy about bucking both Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Trump. He has most recently opposed the White House’s strikes on Iran and voted against Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” leading Trump to threaten an effort to oust him in the midterms.
Khanna, meanwhile, has led the charge on the Democratic side in calling for a House vote to release the Epstein files.

Vitamin D Deficiency and Serious Liver Disease

Dr Mercola
One of the fastest-rising metabolic disorders today affects your liver, quietly and without warning. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, or NAFLD, is becoming alarmingly common worldwide, yet most people have no idea their liver is in trouble until serious damage sets in.
This isn’t just a condition that strikes the unhealthy or overweight. A growing body of research is uncovering hidden drivers behind fatty liver, including something that rarely gets enough attention: nutrient depletion. And topping that list is vitamin D.
Vitamin D is often framed as a bone-health vitamin, but that’s just a fraction of the story. Your liver relies on it to manage fat metabolism, regulate inflammation and maintain energy production inside your cells. As your vitamin D levels drop, which happens with age and indoor living, your liver’s ability to function properly starts to break down.
[…]
How to Restore Your Liver Health and Reverse Vitamin D DeficiencyBy understanding how vitamin D interacts with your liver at the cellular level, you gain the power to intervene early and change the trajectory of your liver health before irreversible damage sets in.
If you’ve been diagnosed with NAFLD, or you suspect your liver is under stress from poor metabolic health, the first thing you need to know is this: fixing the underlying damage — the inflammation, oxidative stress and metabolic imbalances that are keeping your liver stuck in survival mode — is key.
Most people focus only on reducing fat in their liver, but they ignore an important cause of NAFLD: vitamin depletion. As your liver stores and regulates key vitamins, deficiencies make it nearly impossible to heal. The latest research shows that vitamin D plays a powerful role in calming inflammation, fighting oxidative damage, improving insulin sensitivity and clearing fat from liver cells. To give your liver a chance to heal, here’s where to start:
Start by fixing the root: Cut out vegetable oils — If you’re still using canola, soybean, sunflower or generic “vegetable oil,” you’re flooding your cells with linoleic acid (LA), a polyunsaturated fat that oxidizes easily, builds up in your skin and increases your risk of skin damage if you get sun exposure during peak hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
[…]
Test your vitamin D levels and personalize your approach — Get your vitamin D levels tested at least twice a year and aim for a level between 60 and 80 ng/mL (150 to 200 nmol/L). This isn’t just about bone health — it’s about reducing insulin resistance, calming liver inflammation and restoring immune balance. Testing gives you a starting point and helps you track real progress.
Supplement smart: Always combine vitamin D3 with magnesium and K2 — If you’re indoors often or live far from the equator, supplementation is often necessary. But vitamin D3 works best when combined with magnesium and vitamin K2.
In fact, people not using these co-factors needed 244% more vitamin D just to maintain healthy blood levels.3 This trio works as a team, improving absorption, reducing arterial calcification and helping your liver process fat more efficiently.
5. Use food as your medicine to replenish liver-healing vitamins — Real healing happens through real food. Eat liver-supportive nutrients daily, like pasture-raised eggs and grass fed beef liver. Think of your meals as nutrient delivery systems, not just fuel, but repair tools your liver depends on. You don’t need a prescription to start healing your liver, you just need to give it what it’s missing, and remove what’s hurting it.
[…]Vitamin D Turns on a Key Switch That Stops Liver Fat in Its TracksA study published in Experimental & Molecular Medicine investigated how vitamin D3 supplementation affects age-related NAFLD.1 Researchers focused on the role of a mitochondrial protein that helps keep your liver cells’ energy systems working. The goal was to understand how aging disrupts this process and how vitamin D restores it.
• Older animals with low vitamin D had more fat in the liver — The study looked at 22-month-old mice, roughly the equivalent of humans in their 70s, compared with younger adult mice. Older mice with lower vitamin D levels had much higher fat accumulation in their livers, while those given high-dose vitamin D3 (20,000 IU/kg) saw marked improvement. Liver fat decreased, liver weight normalized and inflammation dropped significantly.
• Fat-burning genes turned off with age but vitamin D turned them back on — In older animals, genes that break down fat were significantly suppressed. These are the genes your liver uses to burn fat for energy. Vitamin D supplementation switched them back on. It also lowered genes that drive fat storage. This dual action helps your liver shift away from fat storage and back into fat burning.
• Fatty acid levels in the blood dropped with vitamin D — The aged mice supplemented with vitamin D had much lower circulating free fatty acids, which means the liver wasn’t overwhelmed by incoming fat. It also indicated improved balance between fat uptake and fat breakdown, which is often lost in older adults with metabolic issues.
• Vitamin D fixed mitochondrial structure — A mitochondrial protein that helps organize the mitochondria’s inner structure was almost completely lost in the livers of older mice. Without it, mitochondria lose their ability to generate energy and burn fat. Vitamin D directly boosted levels, which helped mitochondria recover their normal structure and function. This was confirmed through imaging and molecular testing.
• Aging cells hoard fat, but vitamin D turns that around — To test whether the specific mitochondrial protein loss alone caused aging, researchers gave healthy liver cells a dose of the drug doxorubicin to simulate aging. The mitochondrial protein tanked, and the cells quickly began storing fat and showing signs of cellular aging. Vitamin D helped undo the damage by clearing out fat and turning off the signs of cell aging.
Vitamins Regulate Liver Function at a Deep Molecular LevelIn a related study published in Liver Research, scientists examined how key vitamins impact the progression of NAFLD.2 They explored how vitamin deficiencies, particularly in vitamins D, E, B9 and B12, play a role in disrupting liver metabolism. The study emphasized that without adequate levels of these nutrients, your liver’s ability to manage fat breaks down, triggering a cascade of inflammation, insulin resistance and oxidative stress that accelerates disease progression.
• Connections exist between vitamin levels and the severity of liver damage — The researchers found that people with lower levels of vitamins D and B12 had more advanced liver damage, and vitamin E deficiency was linked to a greater risk of inflammation and scarring in liver tissue.
• Different vitamins impact your liver in very different ways — Vitamin E emerged as a powerful antioxidant, helping to cool down inflammation, stop fat buildup and even prevent cells from dying.
Meanwhile, vitamin D helped regulate immune responses and insulin sensitivity, while folate and B12 influenced methylation — a process that helps your liver detoxify and metabolize nutrients. Each of these vitamins played a distinct role in either worsening or improving NAFLD outcomes, depending on whether you were getting enough.
• Vitamin D deficiency was strongly linked to insulin resistance and poor liver function — The researchers explained that vitamin D deficiency appears in 55% of people with NAFLD, and that low levels of this nutrient worsen insulin resistance, one of the main drivers behind fat buildup in your liver.
Vitamin D was found to improve how the pancreas secretes insulin and how cells throughout the body respond to it. Without enough vitamin D, your liver becomes more insulin-resistant, meaning it stores more fat instead of burning it.
• Vitamin D also modulated the immune system’s activity in the liver — Your liver is deeply involved in your immune function. The study showed that vitamin D helps regulate immune cells in the liver, especially through a family of receptors that are often activated by toxins and bacterial fragments in the blood. When these receptors are overstimulated, as they often are in vitamin D deficiency, they produce a flood of inflammatory molecules that damage liver cells.
• Deficiencies in these vitamins disrupted liver repair and worsened metabolic damage — Without enough of these nutrients, your liver struggles to regenerate, detoxify and balance fat metabolism. These disruptions are compounded by modern diets and environmental stressors, making a healthy whole food diet and vitamin support helpful for those facing liver health issues.
Start by fixing the root: Cut out vegetable oils — If you’re still using canola, soybean, sunflower or generic “vegetable oil,” you’re flooding your cells with linoleic acid (LA), a polyunsaturated fat that oxidizes easily, builds up in your skin and increases your risk of skin damage if you get sun exposure during peak hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Cut these oils from your diet for at least six months before getting peak sun exposure. Replace them with healthier fats like tallow, grass fed butter and ghee. Once LA levels drop, your skin and liver begin to work the way they’re supposed to.
