Euro 2024: Foden back in training, Tyldesley to make ITV farewell – as it happened

Anthony Gordon explained how he went over his handlebars and we prepared to bid goodbye to a legend of the microphone

Just taking over from Daniel for a short while. We await news from the England camp. In the meantime, isn’t this stuff getting a bit silly?

What were you doing at 16?

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze scored to stun Portugal and send debutants Georgia in the last 16

Georgia take the lead after 93 seconds!

2 min Portugal have started with a back three as expected, with Pedro Neto at left wing-back.

England 0-0 Slovenia: Euro 2024 – as it happened

Another underwhelming draw was enough for England to top Group C – and for Slovenia to make history

Conor presses really well and his forward running is an important asset. We think he can stretch them defensively and also win second balls in midfield.

We’ve spoken to the players about trying to win the ball higher, and then use it with more composure. We’ve been very honest about our assessment of our performances; we know there’s more to come. But we can talk all we like, we have to go and do it.

#ConnorGallagher is already trending. Come on England fans: if you’re gonna slag him off, at least show your support by spelling his name correctly.

Switzerland 1-1 Germany: Euro 2024 – as it happened

The hosts needed an injury-time equaliser from Niclas Fullkrug to top Group A after Dan Ndoye put the Swiss in front

“‘Germany’s brilliant young attackers,’” begins Matt Dony. “And Thomas Muller. He’s still there, drifting around, investigating spaces. What a man. What a curious player. What a servant. How long ago was it Jogi Low tried to phase him out? Didn’t quite work…”

The really big game tonight, at least for this newspaper, is in Stuttgart. No better man to document Scotland’s attempt to make history than Scott Murray.

Euro 2024: Scotland v Hungary buildup, and Kane rounds on critics – live updates

Scotland-Hungary, Switzerland-Germany at 8pm (BST)Kane hits back at criticism from ex-England playersPlayer guide | Share your thoughts with Rob via email

Fabián is a player and Spain might just be the hardest team to beat. They lack a bit of firepower, but their ability to retain possession and work gaps, though not quite what once it was, is still better than anyone else’s. In particular, I think they’d be a dreadful matchup for England.

I actually think the reffing – and varring – has been pretty good so far.

Georgia 1-1 Czech Republic: Euro 2024 – as it happened

Giorgi Mamardashvili made 11 saves before Saba Lobjanidze missed a glorious chance to give Georgia an historic victory

Here come the players, all wearing rather lovely kits. The Czech Republic’s is here, and this is Georgia’s.

Georgia’s two forwards, Georges Mikautadze and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, have both bent hurt in the warm-up. No suggestion yet that they will miss the game, but it’s not exactly ideal preparation.

Denmark 1-1 England: Euro 2024 – as it happened

Morten Hjulmand cancelled out Harry Kane’s opener and gave Denmark a deserved draw against a lethargic England

Speaking of Serbia: Their football association has called for sanctions to be imposed on Croatia and Albania after fans of both countries were heard chanting anti-Serbia slogans during their match yesterday.

Group C: On as a second half substitute, Luka Jovic has equalised for Serbia with practically the final touch of the game! Deep in added time, he flicks home a header from a corner to snatch a precious point for his team.

Belgium 0-1 Slovakia: Euro 2024 – as it happened

Slovakia held on to stun Belgium after Ivan Schranz’s early opener as Romelu Lukaku saw two goals chalked off by the VAR

Belgium’s best chances to win a major competition were in 2016 and 2018. They started Euro 2020 with four straight wins but then lost taemly to Italy in the quarter-finals. In Qatar they were a bit of a mess, although they should still have qualified ahead of the eventual semi-finalists.

They’re unbeaten since that tournament, a run that includes a win away to Germany and a draw at Wembley. What it all means, I know not.

Poland 1-2 Netherlands: Euro 2024 – as it happened

Wout Weghorst came off the bench to belt a late winner for the Netherlands in an enjoyable game in Hamburg

The Dutch XI includes players from Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven, Brighton, Manchester City, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain – but not from Ajax, who had such a desperate domestic season. The only Ajax players in the squad, Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn, are on the bench.

Poland and the Netherlands have never played each other at a major tournament, although they have had plenty of meetings in qualification or the Nations League. Poland haven’t beaten the Netherlands since a Euros qualifier in May 1979.
