How-To: Add Google Profile to WordPress

If you are publishing a blog and aren't connecting it to as many social media outlets as you can, you're missing out on a critical part of blog marketing. Especially when platforms like WordPress make it so easy. I recently added my Google+ card (after joining, yeah, call me a sheep) to my blog (you [...]

For You Doctor Seuss Fans Out There

Random House will publish a collection of "lost" Dr. Seuss stories. http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by... I invite everyone to read through some of the comments on the above story. They are indicative of the hold that Seuss has on us…even as adults.

Is This Another "Cold Fusion" Cry?

Okay, if you've paid attention to anything related to science in the past 10 years you know about Cold Fusion. Everyone seems to have solved this problem. It's become such a joke that it's escalated to the role of metaphor for anything that someone claims to have solved which is deemed "unsolvable." Here's the latest: [...]

Walking Dead Motion Comic

As a life-long zombie fan (can't count how many zombie movies I've seen/own, Walking Dead #1-35, various hard covers, so many books, pictures, drawings, etc.) I love to see videos like this, especially around franchises like the Walking Dead. Kirkman and team are really amazing. On a different note: World War Z is slated for [...]

Photo: Haunting Photo Essay on Housing Boom in Ireland

This is a fantastic series of images (that are actually available as part of a photo-essay book ont the subject) of houses half-built or entirely new neighborhoods empty. As if they are all waiting for the next big boom to get finished or lived in. http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/08...

Review of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

I had the pleasure of installing and running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion during the developer preview. I have to say that, overall, I was not incredibly impressed. There were lots of features (like LaunchPad) that I simply did not use. Perhaps it will take some retraining of old habits (i.e., like using Command+Tab to [...]

College-Level Writing Courses…For Free

If nothing else, the Web has enabled us to learn from great professors without having to actually attend the colleges at which they taught (or where they appeared). MIT has had the OpenUniversity project going for quite sometime but they aren't the only game in town. YouTube EDU, a massive collection of free educational videos from [...]
