Cosplay Guide for The Ouroboros Cycle
Iosef Shashavani
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6’
Weight: 135 lbs.
Build: Slender
Year of Birth: 1705 (apparent age 20)
Clothing:
At Home:
Like most of the Shashavani, Iosef typically wears a chokha (a traditional garment in Georgia and the Caucasus, similar to a cassock). This is worn over trousers, boots, and a high-necked shirt. While he sometimes wears color, Iosef often prefers the simplicity and modesty of black and/or white garments. Sometimes Iosef’s choka is richly detailed, embroidered, or adorned with gold trim (especially for ceremonial or official activities); other times he wears one that is simple and plain.
Abroad:
When traveling in the outside world, Iosef dresses to match the style of the lands he is visiting. In mid and late 19th Century Europe, this entails a three-piece suit with a frock coat and a cravat. However, his coats are often cut to hand at or below the knee, in a manner similar to the chokha. His European clothing often incorporates more embroidery and detailing than is common, though it is always tasteful.
In addition, when outside during the daytime, Iosef protects himself with a wide-brimmed hat, gloves, a black veil, and sunglasses with round lenses.
Do check out the Pinterest board for the book here for more help and inspiration if you have need of it.
*(NOTE: As with all cosplay, do not feel restricted from cosplaying a character that is of a different height and/or build from you. If you do decide to cosplay Iosef , have fun and please be sure to send me pictures.)
