Schloss St. Emmeram in Regensburg, the castle belongs to the Princely Family of Thurn und Taxis. Before the secularization in 1810, it was a monastery and the family were given it as loss compensation for the Bavarian postal monopoly (they became very rich through postal services in Europe). Some parts of the castle, which has over 500 rooms (more than Buckingham Palace), is still inhabited by the Dowager Princess Gloria and her children Prince Albert II, Princess Elisabeth and Princess Maria Theresia. Every year in the summer, the Dowager Princess opens a Castle Festival and in December a Christmas market.
