New Stuff Day!!
Here, schools are back in session, the atmosphere has shifted back to a fallish rhythm and ...
It's New Stuff Day!!! What, you say?
Today is the release day for many wonderful books, including this one of mine. Species Imperative
To celebrate, I've posted the first couple of chapters at http://www.czerneda.com
Also, it's two months till my next new novel is released, making it time for the next large installment of: A Play of Shadow!!! That's up at http://www.czerneda.com
What else am I up to? Well, shortly I'll finish my next story for the fantastic Tales of the Emerald Serpent shared world anthology series. Tales of the Emerald Serpent: Ghosts of Taux and A Knight in the Silk Purse: Ghosts of Tauxare already out. I'm surging ahead! Whee!!

What's new?
Hmmm. August is zooming along here too, so what's up is more about EGAD IT'S COMING CLOSER than anything else.
That said, there are a couple of noteworthies:
I'll be announcing a few more events soon, most concerning the release of A Play of Shadow. First, and for those in Ottawa, I will be at CAN-CON Oct 3-5th. Wouldn't miss it!
PLAY has gone to press as I type this. There will be real books by mid-September, though those will head off to reviewers. Always an exciting time. I do hope there's a giveaway in here. Will keep you posted.
I've gathered materials for the two mailings that go out shortly. The first is to the "Biogeeks" who have contacted me and whose names are in Species Imperative. They'll be getting bookplates and bookmarks. The second, and larger, is to all the rest who've requested signed bookmarks from me. We've some lovely new ones ready to go.
Though the very best? Will be handed out at these launches for PLAY: Toronto, World Fantasy, and Ottawa. There aren't many, so be first in line!
Otherwise? Working away on a short story, then it's time for nothing but Sira, Morgan, Huido, Barac, Bowman...oh my!

June's ramping up!

First up, the Cover Reveal for A PLAY OF SHADOW Monday June 16th, hosted by http://www.fantasybookcafe.com There's a post from me about the cover art process entitled...You start with turtles...
I believe there's a book giveaway in the offing for this as well.
Next? SUPER TUESDAY, June 17th. I'm keeping this a bit of a secret for a couple more days, but think TREATS!
and... NEXT? June 21st, from 1-4pm, I'll be at Chapters Burlington (ON). With treats to giveaway, and a short reading with a draw on the half hours (1:30/2:30/3:30). Get your summer reading signed!

The lull before ...?
This is that lovely writerly time between books, with a new book on shelves (signing announcement to come, btw, for June 21st in Burlington ON), the next book now safely in the hands of my publisher, and not one, but THREE, new books about to pour from the fingertips.
All with spring finally here.
Stay tuned for more action hereabouts. Soon will be the cover reveal for A PLAY OF SHADOW and more treats leading up to its release in November. Could be a giveaway later this summer ::winks:: We're finally into new bookmark creation--the delay because of waiting for final cover copy etc, but that's in our hands now. There'll be big updates to www.czerneda.com because it's time.

Sira. Oh yes. You've been waiting, so have I. Get ready for--well, you won't be ready for this.

May! Book done, off to ComicCon!

Though I'm "veryvery" busy today, had to let you know that yes...
A PLAY OF SHADOW has gone to my beloved publisher, DAW Books, to be groomed and made all manner of lovely for its November 4th release. I'm sure there'll be an ARC giveaway in here sooner. Keep your eyes peeled!
I'm enjoying a celebratory weekend, hence the "veryvery" busy, but also wanted to let you know that if you'll be in Ottawa May 9-11th, I'll be part of the Ottawa ComicCon. Sunday the 11th, at 2:30 pm I'm giving a hour workshop on creating aliens called "Biogeeks ASSEMBLE!!"
Yes, I love my life.
