I'm back!
At last, I've found my way into Goodreads. My apologies for my long absence. I was--let's say there was something of a hiccup logging in here.

What's new? SO MUCH NEW!
Finished my new SF. Reunification #1. Sira's back! And so are Morgan, Huido, Barac, and more! It'll be out November 2015, but expect snippets.This Gulf of Time and Stars

Now I'm back to work on #2, called THE GATE TO FUTURES PAST. Matt's already on the cover. It's coming out in Sept 2016. Which means this summer? I'm writing!

Still here!
Just chained to the desk. Though this close to the end of a story, it's more like chains are needed to haul me away.

Beta Reader Competition!
For the next book in The Clan Chronicles series, I need your help.
I need readers who know the series backwards and forwards. The sort who would notice anything I got wrong. As you know, there's an immense amount of stuff here. I'm doing my best, but it's been a while. I'll feel much better with an assist.
So I'm going to pick two Beta readers for THIS GULF OF TIME AND STARS, and possibly the following two Reunification titles!
The competition starts January 15th. I'll give those who sign up a list of questions and a special email address to use when answering.
The two who do the best job will read first draft manuscript for me to check for any mistakes. Beta readers! I will acknowledge your help and you will receive a hardcover copy of GULF when published as well.
Start re-reading!
Legal thing: You'll have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, because this is all pre-pub and secret, and we don't want DAW to worry.

Won the Big One!!

This is for A Turn of Light. Now officially the winner of the 2014 Aurora for Best Novel of the Year (English).
There's been dancing.
There shall be MORE dancing!
I've posted my acceptance speech and a photo of the trophy heading my way on the public Marrowdell page on facebook.
Now, back to writing...until November. Much happens in ...NOVEMBER!

Happy October 1st!
What's happening here?
I'm prepping for CanCon 2014, Oct 3-5, Ottawa ON. It's a terrific convention, small enough for great conversations, big enough to offer over 4 simulaneous tracks from science to publishing. There's "blood spatter" and "tricks for reading aloud" as well as chances to pitch your stuff to publishers, right there. Did I mention parties? I'll be on panels, reading from PLAY, and conducting a workshop Saturday from 10 till noon called "Destroy All Story Gremlins!" Hope to see you.
On other fronts, I'm busy ordering materials for you, dear readers. First for the mailing of new signed bookmarks that I'll do this month. (If you aren't on my list yet, email me a mailing address to julie[dot]czerneda[at]sff.net before the 15th. My pleasure!) Second for what I'll be giving out at the launches for PLAY in November. Yup. Every one shall have TREATS!
Oh, and I'm writing a new book. And will cook a turkey. Such is the writerly life.
