Republican Speaker of the House Flushes US Constitution Down the Toilet
As I predicted on April 11, the police state got the Republicans to reconsider and to pass their warrantless spying and home entry. The Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson cast the deciding vote that nixed the warrant requirement.
This tells us all we need to know about Republicans. They are part of the problem.
Super-Patriots will say “we have to do this to protect ourselves from terrorists.” They don’t understand that without the Constitution we have no protection. See this.

Germ and Terrain Disease Theories are Covers for Killer Institutions
“Mosquitoes seek stagnant water but do not cause the pool to become stagnant” and polluted (Rudolph Virchow, physician, and proponent of terrain theory of disease). Note: Anopheles mosquitoes breed only in clean, still, sunlit water not polluted with poop, rotting vegetation or garbage.
Both Germ and Terrain Theories falsely assume the cause of disease is externalities rather than internalization of self-portrayed benevolent, but coercive, malevolent institutions.
Since the declaration of a pa...
Millennials: In Costco We Trust
When the latest CPI number came in hot at 0.4% for March and the annual core CPI inflation rate held at 3.8%, Betsey Stevenson, professor of economics at the University of Michigan appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box said nonchalantly “Three percent inflation is no big deal.” The comment got a rise out of co-host Becky Quick who reminded the professor that the three percent was adding on to the already higher prices consumers continue to suffer with.
To Ms. Quick’s point, the latest Grant’s Interest ...
Ode To Merka
I came of age living outside of a central Texas town of Moulton, population (at that time) of 792. I went to school in Shiner, which was a 24-mile round-trip commute, and at the tender age of 14 and without a license, I ferried my siblings to and from school in the 1973 Ford Country Squire station wagon, with faux wood panelling.
Moulton was the quintessential Texas tank town, located in the heart of the German-Czech belt of central Texas. Downtown was centered on the railroad tracks, though the...
Trump Is Right about Abortion and Lindsey Graham Is Wrong
Donald Trump last week said he opposes any national legislation on abortion, and said he supports state governments adopting their own policies. According to USA Today: “Former President Donald Trump said individual states should choose their own abortion restrictions, avoiding talk of any kind of federal government ban and drawing criticism from Democrats and anti-abortion Republicans alike on a pivotal election issue. …At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people.”

Down with Big Brother: Warrantless Surveillance Makes a Mockery of the Constitution
“Whether he wrote DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER, or whether he refrained from writing it, made no difference … The Thought Police would get him just the same … the arrests invariably happened at night … In the vast majority of cases there was no trial, no report of the arrest. People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, a...
New American Dream: ‘You’ll Own Nothing and Be Happy’
International Man: According to a recent study by Investopedia, the classic middle-class American Dream now costs over $3.4 million.
That’s the estimated lifetime cost of marriage, two children, cars, homes, healthcare, education, and retirement. It’s now entirely out of reach for many Americans.
What do you make of this? How did this happen?
Doug Casey: The fact is, despite the fact that his standard of living has been slipping over the past 50 years, the average American today lives much bette...

How To Assess Your Metabolic Health at Home
One of the easiest ways to assess your metabolic health at home is a simple body temperature measurement. Body temperature is a sign of how well your body is creating and utilizing energy. So, a lower body temperature is a sign that our body is not producing a lot of energy (meaning, hindered metabolic function).
Measuring my body temperature for the first time five years ago was my lightbulb moment when I finally accepted and realized that my previous restrictive lifestyle (keto, fasting, and c...
Financial Forecast 2025-2032: Please Don’t Be Naive
Rather than attempt to evade Caesar’s reach, a better strategy might be to ‘go gray’: blend in, appear average.
Let’s start by stipulating that I don’t “like” this forecast. I’m not “talking my book” (for example, promoting nuclear power because I own shares in a uranium mine) or issuing this forecast because I favor it. I simply see it as the most likely trajectory of the global financial system, based on history and the dynamics of human systems. “Liking” it or not liking it has nothing to do ...
The Delusion of Liberal Democracy
Heavily loaded expressions are flying around in the public conversation about ‘fascism’, racism, ‘xenophobia’ ‘socialism’, ‘communism’, ‘capitalism’ and most importantly: ‘democracy’ with almost as many interpretations as speakers. What makes all of them interesting is the way they are used, the instinctual certainty about their meaning and the assumption that their understanding and interpretation is widely shared. The looser the definition, the greater the scope of its possible use.
Still, one...
