Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs Are a Giant Hoax

What we now observe is a blistering condemnation of cholesterol-lowering statin drugs coming out of news sources in Great Britain with absolute silence on the subject from US-based news agencies.

The scathing denunciation of statin drugs emanates from The Pharmaceutical Journal in the UK that declares the cholesterol hypothesis of cardiovascular disease is “dead.”

The prevalent mantra that statins are “life-savers” and that “people will die” if they discontinue statins, as well as advice “eve...

What the Snowflakes Want

A young man of my acquaintance recently ended his intimate relationship with a girl that had lasted some years, and announced the fact to the world on Facebook, together with some rather disobliging commentary on his former lover’s character. This mania for making public what ought to remain private is, if not entirely new (for, as the Bible tells us, there is no new thing under the sun), at least of such greatly increased intensity that it might as well be regarded as new. The possibility of...

5 Private City Projects

1. A Private City in Norway Has Broken Ground! Liberstad is being built.

So many of these projects never get off the ground. This one is happening. There is a long way to go, but the initial hurdle has been passed. The land was purchased in June and is currently in development creating a private “anarchist” community. It is being funded by presale of cabins and building sites.

2. By 2020 There Will Be a Floating City Off the Coast of French Polynesia.

The Seasteading Institute is working with...

Death of the West?

As a former soldier and war correspondent, I abhor demonstrations of flag-waving, militarism and nationalism. That great American, Benjamin Franklin, put it perfectly:  ‘no good war, no bad peace.’

But I must admit that my heart does beat faster when I hear the rousing strains of France’s glorious national anthem, ‘La Marseillaise.’  One must be almost dead not to respond to the hymn, first known in 1775 as ‘the war song of the army of the Rhine’ and then the marching song of volunteers from...

The Challenge of Islam

GRIFFIN INTERNET SYNDICATE, OCTOBER 25, 2001 – Back in the 1930s, when white men were preparing for another round of mutual slaughter, few of them paid any attention to the Muslim world. They assumed it to be a backward region that history had long since passed by.

One man saw it differently. The great Catholic polemicist Hilaire Belloc, an Englishman of French ancestry, remembered Islam’s past and predicted, in his book The Great Heresies, that it would one day challenge the West again. As l...

Hot Wheels

Auto thefts are on the rise for a second year according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau and many owners have only themselves to blame. They’re practically handing thieves the keys by leaving them in their unlocked car.

Here’s the NICB’s list of which cars were the hottest snatches for crooks for 2016. Tips for how to avoid being the next victim of auto theft are also below.

The top two “Hot Wheels” stolen last year are both older generation model year Hondas – ones without today’s anti...

Undermine American Democracy?

Scott Hamann’s anti-Trump rant, I believe, reveals not only his own beliefs and feelings but also those of many other people. I believe that what he expressed has quite wide currency because for many weeks now there has been a steady stream of similar kinds of extreme and outrageous remarks that have been made public. Many of them are divorced from reality.

Take Nancy Pelosi:

“California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi said at her weekly news conference Thursday that President Donald Trump was tur...

After You Shoot, Then What?

Wow…what an eye opener. You would think that self-defense is a no-brainer and a slam dunk. But be very aware there’s trouble out there if you defend your life and hurt or kill the bad guy. It’s unbelievable how their rights outweigh those of law abiding citizens. It’s amazing how many Pro Gun Control politicians and law enforcement people despise the law abiding concealed carry gun lover and give the bad guys, the killers, the rapists and robbers the benefit of the doubt and cut them all the...

Oust Trump, Start World War With Russia

Behind the sensational Western media coverage now linking the US president’s son to alleged Russian collusion in the American election, the real euphoria stems from relief that, at last, some «evidence» has been found.

For more than seven months now, the US corporate media have been running unrelenting claims that somehow Donald J Trump colluded with Russian state-sponsored hackers to get elected over his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton.

The media campaign has been dismissed as a witch hunt by...

All the Dystopian TV Shows and Movies

Sometimes, during the summers, I like to stay up late.  When not reading or writing, I will usually resort to watching a series on television.  I enjoy series because the character development and storylines are far more in-depth than what is viewed in a mere two-hour movie; although I do watch them as well.  On HBO, I have experienced The SopranosThe WireBoardwalk EmpireDeadwoodTrue Blood, and a few others.  On AMC, it was Breaking Bad and I still watch The Walking Dead. What I like...
