The Fed’s Massive Bubble

There shouldn’t be a Federal Reserve, but it exists, and it’s constantly creating a world of economic pain.?

Each Federal Reserve bubble must turn into a bust. It’s unavoidable.

Time to buy old US gold coins

Ron Paul discusses the latest bubble below…

Via RonPaulLibertyReport.com

According to the central planners, the “solution” for the bust is more creation of new money and credit.

That’s the only way they can keep their “system” alive.

When the Fed’s stock market bubble burst in 2000, it...

Will the People Be Allowed To Know the Truth?

Top secret files are due to be declassified this month in a move that could bring closure to one of the most traumatic events in US history – the assassination of President John F Kennedy.

A law was signed by former President George H.W. Bush in 1992 mandating the release of all documents related to Kennedy’s assassination within 25 years. Under the JFK Records Act of 1992, the National Archives has until 26 October of this year to disclose the remaining files relating to the assassination, u...

The Dangers of Nuclear War

Today, people are finally waking up to the dangers of a world war, which might emanate from the highest levels of the US government.

We are no longer dealing with a hypothetical scenario.  The threat of World War III is real. Public opinion has become increasingly aware of the impending dangers of an all-out US-NATO led war against Iran, North Korea and the Russian Federation.

WW III has been contemplated by the U.S. and its allies for well over ten years as revealed in Michel Chossudovsky’...

Where’s Ralph Nader?

Ralph Nader made his name “exposing” the design defects (as he styled them) of the Chevy Corvair.

Leaving aside the fact that what he styled a “defect” was really more a difference – the Corvair was rear-engined and nose-light and so handled differently than the overwhelmingly front-engined and ass-light American cars that drivers of the time were used to, especially when tire pressure recommendations were not adhered to – the relevant thing is that he was cheered – deified – for “exposing” a...

CNN Claims Russians Used ‘Pokémon Go’

Just when you thought the Hillary Clinton concocted ‘Russia election meddling’ story could not get any more stupid, CNN outdoes itself.

Never mind Russia dismantling America’s democratic system with only $100,000 in Facebook ads, which did not even discuss the US election, Russia has now weaponized Pokemon.

We can now expect to see Pokemon characters subpoenaed to testify in front of Congress.

Exclusive: Russian-linked meddling effort extended to YouTube, Tumblr...

Are You Better Off Than You Were 17 Years Ago?

We tend to measure what’s easily measured (and supports the status quo) and ignore what isn’t easily measured (and calls the status quo into question).

If we use gross domestic product (GDP) as a broad measure of prosperity, we are 160% better off than we were in 1980 and 35% better off than we were in 2000. Other common metrics such as per capita (per person) income and total household wealth reflect similarly hefty gains.

But are we really 35% better off than...

Gun Lies the Establishment Tells You

To start with, as per the Standard Anti-Self-Defense Handbook — and using the so-far unexplained Las Vegas shooting spree as the latest platform — the usual Second Amendment scoff-laws still prominently include firearm suicides in their gun-death tally.

Thank goodness folks deprived of guns won’t use overdoses, tranquilizers-plus-booze, carbon monoxide, razor blades, poison, etc. — and bridges, tall buildings, and open windows for jumping — if they can’t get guns!

Or are the usual Congression...

Is Trump the Heir?

Three decades ago, as communications director in the White House, I set up an interview for Bill Rusher of National Review.

Among his first questions to President Reagan was to ask him to assess the political importance of Barry Goldwater. Said Reagan, “I guess you could call him the John the Baptist of our movement.”

I resisted the temptation to lean in and ask, “Sir, if Barry Goldwater is John the Baptist, who would that make you?”

What brings the moment back is Laura Ingraham’s new book: “...

The Menace of the Progressives

Editor’s Note: Murray Rothbard’s new masterwork, The Progressive Era, is now available for purchase. Judge Napolitano’s preface below speaks to why the Progressive Era is so key to our understanding of modern America. This is the first of many selections from the book we will be offering at mises.org in the future.

When I was in my junior and senior years at Princeton studying history in the early 1970s, I became fascinated with the Progressive Era. It attracted me at a time when America rej...

Revisionist History vs. Conspiracy History

Because I was a revisionist historian at the age of 16, back in 1958, I am more aware of the development of revisionist history over the years than most people are. The fact that I received a Ph.D. in history designates me as probably the oldest living Ph.D.-holding historian who has always been a revisionist on America’s entry into World War I and World War II.

Revisionist historians are dismissed as conspiracy historians. This is a popular designation. It was dreamed up in 1967 by the Centr...
