If We Can't Do It ... The Government Shouldn't Be Able To Do It Either

By Liberty Report Staff

We can't steal ... but government calls it an "income tax" and steals with reckless abandon.

We can't counterfeit ... but government's monopoly bank calls it "Quantitative Easing" and destroys the purchasing power of the currency.

We can't kidnap ... but government institutes military drafts whenever it sees fit.

We can't murder ... but government commits mass murder just about every single day.

There's something very screwy about this double-standard.

Tom Woods recently ga...

War Drums Beating: North Korea Tops The List

The UN Security Council resolution putting more sanctions on North Korea over the weekend is fueling the flames of neocon dreams of pre-emptive war. Will they actually be so insane? Bet on it.

Taxing The Rich To Fix The NYC Subway?

By Liberty Report Staff

"Tax The Rich" is always a popular slogan.

Ironically, politicians themselves are often very rich, and they're put into office and financed by others who are also very rich.

Take a drive around the Washington, DC suburbs and surrounding areas and you'll quickly notice that government is the ultimate "get rich quick" scheme.

Perhaps it's time to get the schemers off our backs instead of looking for them to "tax the rich".

Jeff Sessions Endorses Theft

PicturePress Play to hear Ron Paul deliver his Weekly Update:By Ron Paul

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently ordered the Justice Department to increase the use of civil asset forfeiture, thus once again endorsing an unconstitutional, authoritarian, and increasingly unpopular policy.

Civil asset forfeiture, which should be called civil asset theft, is the practice of seizing property believed to be involved in a crime. The government keeps the property even if it never convicts, or even charges, th...

The Antiwar Conservatives, With Rep. John Duncan, Jr.

Rep. John Duncan, Jr. was one of just three Members to vote against the new Russia/Iran/North Korea sanctions bill. He's also the last Republican in the House who voted against the 2003 Iraq war. Doesn't being conservative mean being pro-war ? Not at all, as Duncan explains in today's episode...

The Folly of Democratic Socialism

PictureBy Thomas DiLorenzo

How apropos that on the weekend of the annual convention of Democratic Socialists of America taking place in Chicago the socialist government of Venezuela is demonstrating yet again the inherent incompatibility of socialism and democracy.  It was not just a coincidence, in other words, that twentieth-century socialism was defined by tyranny, dictatorship, and oppression – and not democracy.

Nobel laureate F.A. Hayek explained how socialism destroys democratic institutions in...

What Are We Being Dragged Into?

PictureBy Liberty Report Staff

Hermann Goering was Hitler’s Reich Marshall. He was captured and jailed.

While in jail, Goering was interviewed by U.S. Army Captain Gustave M. Gilbert.

Gilbert would publish this interview in his book "Nuremberg Diary."

There's a key excerpt from this interview that should really strike a chord with the American people:
Goering: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of...

Myth-Busters: Reality Hits Minimum Wage Boosters

This week, The Washington Post ran an editorial titled: "Sobering news for $15 minimum-wage boosters." It turns out that the sobering news is that the minimum wage ends up hurting the very people it's supposedly intended to help. Ron Paul explains why on today's Myth-Busters!
