Nixon to Biden: 50 Years of "Transitory" Inflation
It has been 50 years since President Nixon proclaimed that "We are all Keynesians now." The results of allowing government (via its central bank - The Federal Reserve) to create dollars out-of-thin-air have now been produced. Decade after decade we experience relentless inflation, coupled with an expansion in the size and scope of government, the likes of which humanity has never seen before. The Keynesian dream is coming to an end.

Reports: US Leaving Iraq (Again)
According to press reports, US special envoy for the Middle East has announced to Iraqi officials that the US would be initiating a slow but steady withdrawal of its military forces from that country. What does it mean for Syria etc? Also today: Israel shows natural immunity after infection extremely robust, record drug overdoses in US last year (surprise!), and France says "non!" to vaccine apartheid.

Biden Unhinged: Voter ID Requirements Worst Threat 'Since The Civil War!'
President Biden once again dredged up his "not since the Civil War" hyperbole, this time to describe efforts in Texas and elsewhere to require people to show IDs before casting a vote. Civil War? Really? Also today, Biden allies plan to "fact check" private text messages? And...why is the Post Office spying on you?

“We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying..."

While reading this week's Ron Paul Institute email newsletter , published by my colleague Daniel McAdams, I was struck by a quote that I've certainly read before, but it's just so relevant when reading it again today:
“We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying.” - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
What is it about lies?
Why are we constantly tasked with wading through a sea of li...

True Civil Libertarians Must Oppose the IRS

Progressives who work to end individual rights violations committed by the NSA, FBI, DEA, CIA, and other federal agencies usually overlook, or even support, the routine violations of Americans’ rights by the IRS.
For example, progressives rarely, if ever, speak out against the IRS’s targeting of the opponents of those in power. When liberal Democrats control the White House, the IRS targets advocates of free markets. When hawkish Republicans are in power, the IRS targets antiwar activ...

FBI To Americans: 'Report On Your Families!'
Over the weekend the FBI Tweeted that Americans should observe their own family members for possible "extremism" and report them to the FBI if they find any. Haven't we seen this movie before in East Germany? Also - Washington is spending millions to create a new database of the "insurrectionists" from January 6th. Is this justice, or political persecution? These stories and more in today's Liberty Report...

Hit The Brakes! Corporatism Often Incites Revolutions!
Wealth inequality is a normal and natural condition of civilization. Human beings are not homogenous and unconscious robots, where everything is exactly the same for everyone. However, when wealth inequality is artificially inflated through the political process, trouble is introduced. When a small percentage become extremely rich at the expense of others (rather than at the service of others) bad feelings tend to form. Politics must be removed from the economy in order to remedy the situation. ...

NSA Vs. Tucker Carlson: Are We A Banana Republic?
After the shocking revelation that the US National Security Agency had intercepted Fox News host Tucker Carlson's emails and then leaked them to media in an effort to smear him, the question all Americans should be asking is: how did we get to this banana republic state? Will there be any accounting for this lawlessness? Also today: Iraqi militias keep firing on US bases in Iraq. So why not leave?

White House To America: 'We're Coming Door To Door...With Shots!'
White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said at the daily press conference yesterday that President Biden's strategy to get everyone a Covid shot - whether they want it or not - is to start going "door-to-door" to those not yet jabbed. So...they have a list? Also today: bomb-maker Raytheon goes "woke." Capitol Hill Cops set up shop in California. Will CDC soon recommend a nation-wide re-count of Covid deaths?

How The Ideas of Liberty Win

Conflict is a permanent part of the human condition. Human beings have unlimited wants, but live in a world of scarce resources. Conflict is thus unavoidable and perpetual.
While on the surface this may seem like a bad thing, it doesn't necessarily have to be. Conflicts may be unavoidable, but how they are resolved mean everything.
The ideas of Liberty offer a wonderful answer to this dilemma: Conflicts should be resolved peacefully. Private property, contracts, sound money,...
