The Decades-Long Obsession With "Safety At All Costs" Has Reached Its Culmination

The assessment of risk is the result of an individual valuation. It is subjective and different for everyone. The assessment of risk is done in each individual mind, who looks at his or her own local circumstances, and decides "it is worth it to do XYZ" or "it is not worth it."
There is no such thing as a single risk assessment for all of humanity. To believe that there is, and that an authority has the ability to dictate such an assessment, is to participate in a fantas...

Fauci: 'I Respect People's Freedom But...'
In the wake of yesterday's FDA approval of the Pfizer shot, Biden's Covid advisor Anthony Fauci has blasted back onto the television screens, screeching that while he likes freedom there are times we must give up freedom...and take the shot! Meanwhile Biden is demanding that the private sector turn into the shot police and install mandates on their workers and customers. As Afghanistan unravels, is this dramatic ramping up of authoritarianism at home meant to be a distraction?

From the Nixon Shock to Biden-flation

This month marks fifty years since President Richard Nixon closed the “gold window” that had allowed foreign governments to exchange US dollars for gold. Nixon’s action severed the last link between the dollar and gold, transforming the dollar into pure fiat currency.
Since the “Nixon shock” of 1971, the dollar’s value — and the average American’s living standard — has continuously declined, while income inequality and the size, scope, and cost of government have risen.
Since the...

Ron Paul Talks In-depth about the Afghanistan War
By Adam Dick
A new interview with Ron Paul starts with a video clip of Paul speaking on the United States House of Representatives floor in March of 2011 when Paul was a Republican member of the House from Texas. In the clip, Paul says that, if US troops were not withdrawn that year from Afghanistan where they had already been fighting for approaching ten years, they would remain there for another ten. “You were right on with that prediction” commented Kitco News host David Lin after the clip and...

Bretton Woods Long Gone: What To Expect From The Coming Reforms
Since Nixon's detachment of the dollar from gold, fiat money has been a decades long failure. It has financed overwhelming government interventions, both at home and abroad. A government that can lean on The Fed to counterfeit money is a government that is financially unrestrained by the people. Reforms are coming as the monetary failure reaches a crescendo.

Masks: What Are They Hiding?
The mask debate is again raging in the US, and again it is becoming a political football. Red state governors are attacked in the mainstream media for not re-imposing mask mandates while blue state governors where cases are increasing get a pass. So what's it all about? Public health? Also today - the California recall is becoming a referendum on masks and mandates. Finally - should we import thousands of Afghans?

Biden's Afghan Speech - A Hit...And A Miss
There was much to approve of in President Biden's speech explaining his decision to pull out of Afghanistan...and a few yellow flags of caution. We'll discuss the good and the bad. Also today: beware of new and dangerous legislation introduced in Congress. New Zealand madness. And more...

Kabul Has Fallen – But Don’t Blame Biden

This weekend the US experienced another “Saigon moment,” this time in Afghanistan. After a 20 year war that drained trillions from Americans’ pockets, the capital of Afghanistan fell without a fight. The corrupt Potemkin regime that the US had been propping up for two decades and the Afghan military that we had spent billions training just melted away.
The rush is on now to find somebody to blame for the chaos in Afghanistan. Many of the “experts” doing the finger-pointing are the ones...
