The Wounded Bride

The Wounded Bride
A novel in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Series

Ian Steward and Lorna Baird have seven children each. They both want them to find happiness, not necessarily together but that wouldn’t hurt them if they did.

Hugh Steward, the youngest of Ian’s boys married Kyle Baird, the youngest of Lorna’s girls. Then Finlay married Machara but she died after giving birth to their daughters. Now he is left to raise their baby daughters alone. Freya Baird is finally with Coll Steward and they have baby, Grace. Davy Steward broke up with Georgie. He couldn’t deal with her amazing talents so she found Hunter Cole, the famous tattoo artist. Brodie Steward lost Dallis Baird to Bodhi James.

Now it’s time for Greer Baird’s story…

Trouble from the time she developed a beautiful body and boys started paying attention to her; she figured out her body and sex made her very popular at a young age.

Alcohol took away her inhibitions. It made her the life of every weekend party. By the time, she was a seventeen, she was out of control and on a course for disaster. No one could stop her but the Steward brothers, Finlay and Ewan were always there to pick up the pieces when she needed them. She was on a downhill road of self-destruction.

Three events in her life will determine her future. First, Greer must make it through the most difficult time in her life to find her happiness. The drinking needs to stop before it kills her.

Once she’s sober, Greer will make decisions about her love life that will determine who she ends up with in the end. There are three men in her life. Shawn is safe and pastor of the Fellowship Church. He wants another chance. Ewan, is confused about his sexuality and is trying to convince her they have a chance but his choices keep getting in the way and then there is Finlay. She thinks he is off limits and belongs to her sister still, even though she is gone. Maybe she just needs to focus on staying sober and staying healthy.

Everyone is a critic

I've been reading different author's views recently on reviews. Reviews are needed. We all agree on that. Amazon won't promote you unless you have them. An author puts their heart and soul into their work so have a little respect when you're leaving a review.

Some books are really terrible. Some are mediocre at best. Some are good and some outstanding works of art that you just want to read over and over.

One author in her description put don't read the reviews so I didn't. The description was great. The book was 14 pages. I have never returned a book. I paid $2.99 for 14 pages. I returned the book and left a review that said read the reviews. In this example, that isn't fair. She was a decent writer too.

I've had my fair share of bad reviews. Recently had the one where you can't even finish it the reviewer marked it at 36% I forget what it's called "DNF" I believe. I didn't even know that existed. Who does that? Why would you even care enough about doing that to an author? Is that important? If she had read the first book she would have understood understood the character's personality in the second book. Anyway, this isn't about me.

Reviews, are subjective. What one person reads another may or may not agree with but they can also hurt a books chances of getting purchased by someone else.

What is this about trolls? Does that even exist? People actually do bad reviews on purpose? Or another writer does a bad review for another author on purpose? A lot of the writers I interact with are very supportive of each other. I'd like to think that we all are that way.

My practice is usually not to review an author's work if i can't give it less that a 3. I have been disappointed in an author that I really like and gave it a 2 on rare occasion but I explained why. I always leave a text review with the stars explaining what I liked about the book and didn't like about the book. If you are giving the author a 2 at least tell them why you are giving them a low rating. I'm never personal. I never tell them to go back to their day jobs. That just isn't kosher. Don't be mean.

I always try to leave the positives and the negatives. There has to be something positive. i really didn't like a book recently that I read. It had too many holes in the plot. The couple didn't even get together until the last chapter or two. I explained that just didn't work for me. The positive note was that she was a really good writer.

So maybe this is my Pollyanna mentality in a world where everyone wants to be mean to each other but hey writers have feelings too. It takes a lot of guts to put our work out there for the readers to love or hate.

The Tattoo Artist's Bride

The Tattoo Artist’s Bride
A novel in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Series

Ian Steward and Lorna Baird have seven children each. They both want them to find happiness, not necessarily together but that wouldn’t hurt them if they did.

Hugh Steward, the youngest of Ian’s boys married Kyle Baird, the youngest of Lorna’s girls. Then Finlay married Machara but she died after giving birth to their daughters. Now he is left to raise their baby daughters alone. Freya Baird is now with Coll Steward and they are expecting a baby too. Then Davy Steward broke up with Georgie. He couldn’t deal with her amazing talents so she found Hunter Cole, the famous tattoo artist.

Which brings us to Dallis Baird.

She was twenty-three when her fiancé, Derek was killed. She spent years shut off, in pain afraid of loving anyone again. Then Brodie Steward, the oldest of the Steward brothers showed her what it meant to love again. He awakened her desires but he was closed off and afraid of commitment himself. He was as broken as she was.

He gave her just enough of himself to make her realize that she wanted more out of life. After Machara’s death she started pushing him away. She deserved more than just a casual relationship. She wanted a husband and children of her own like what her sisters had.

Georgie had warned Brodie in a reading she gave him. He only had so much time to reach out to Dallis and try to win her over.

Hunter, Georgie’s husband hired a new tattoo artist, Bodhi James. A tall, dark and quiet stranger. A beautiful man, her sister, Georgie called him. A dirty, dirty man that you want to lick all over, Kyle said.

At the towns’ Labor Day celebration, Georgie introduced Dallis to Bodhi. One hand shake later they were inseparable. Eleven days later, they were married. They both just knew it was the right thing for them. Now to convince everyone else in the family they haven’t lost their minds.

Peyote, spiritual journeys involved. Lots of loving and whipped cream. There is nothing but happiness in this book. Dallis needed that after losing Derek and Brodie being such a jackass to her.

The Gifted Bride

The Gifted Bride
A novel in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Series

Ian Steward and Lorna Baird have seven children each. They both want them to find happiness, not necessarily together but that wouldn’t hurt them if they did.

Hugh Steward, the youngest of Ian’s boys married Kyle Baird, the youngest of Lorna’s girls. Then Finlay married Machara but she died after giving birth to their daughters. Now he is left to raise their baby daughters alone. Freya Baird is now with Coll Steward and they are expecting a baby too. So many of the other couples getting together are falling apart.

Then there is Georgie Baird. The twins, Davy and Ewan Steward who were in the same class as her all through school. They were her protectors, her best friends after her sisters. Georgie and Davy took their friendship to the next level trying to make something out of fondness for each other and great sex because they were lonely.

Her gift made him uncomfortable. He asked for a break after Machara died. She saw her sister’s death in readings she did for her sisters, Kyle and Dallis. He asked for a break to get his head on straight. A temporary arrangement, he moved in with Ewan. She moved out of his home and in with her sister Greer leaving her engagement ring for him to find.

Georgie knew she couldn’t stay long with Greer. She had her own life to live. Her own relationship issues to contend with. He wasn’t her soul mate any more than she was his.

Three months later, Georgie walked out of the crystal shop and saw Hunter Cole’s tattoo shop. It had always been there but she had never noticed it before. She took a chance.

He walked out of the back, a tall, dark and beautiful man and she was struck speechless. He agreed to do the butterfly tattoo she wanted in memory of her sister. She didn’t know anything about Hunter Cole and he didn’t know how her simple, beauty would affect him.

One tattoo later, they were both smitten. One date later they were inseparable. He understood Georgie and her gift. His grandfather Bear was just like her.

In visions, they have, Georgie and Bear see someone following Hunter. A dark shadow with menacing thoughts. It isn’t clear who it is or who they want to hurt. Their stalker could take away their happiness. They need to find out who it is before it is too late.

The Valentine Bride

Life doesn't always have happy endings. I struggled with The Valentine Bride for weeks. 2 things influenced the outcome of this story. Machara and Finlay had been together for eleven years. Lost the virginity to each other when they were teenagers. They just couldn't stop loving each other but they couldn't live with each other either. They took everything they had for granted. Fought constantly. Weren't always nice to each other. Then Machara became pregnant with twins. The pregnancy risks her health. There are so many heavy choices that the two of them will have to make. He has to face losing both his daughters and the love of his life. She wants these babies desperately. There is a such a struggle between them. So many regrets for the time that they have wasted. That is all I'm going to tell you. What influenced this novel so much was 2 situations. One was a young mother who at 25 died of cancer. I watched her story online. She had 3 kids under 6. I saw her husband on his knees praying for a miracle. Then another young mother also 25. Also with 3 kids under 5 was discarded by her husband. He told her didn't love her anymore. Just out of the blue. Both situations were high school sweethearts. I just couldn't imagine either situation. So both influenced this novel's emotions so much. I hope everyone likes it.
I had to deal with my feelings somehow. We will see if my sister and my friend who always read my books like it?

The Naughty Librarian

Maybe I should stick with one category within my genre? But where's the fun in that. I'm all over the place. It's my mild form of ADD.

Introduction to The Naughty Librarian
coming soon.

She is the naughty librarian or so her Author’s bio says. She actually works in the local bookstore in Hello, Ohio but it sounds more intriguing to say she is a librarian than a naughty bookstore sales associate. Now that is just a mouthful.
Jack Stone lives on Fire Lake in a remote cabin next door to a beautiful man that she fantasizes about on a daily basis. Her next erotic romance is based on those fantasies.
There is just one problem. Jack knows this man, his four sisters, his parents and his grandmother. She doesn’t remember him because she hasn’t seen him since he was seventeen. Things are about to get complicated for Jack and her fantasy man, Jamie McAda.

Jamie doesn’t like complicated.
