Happy Mother's Day
I've already been on Facebook wishing everyone a Happy Mother's day. So anyone who is a mother reading this blog post today Happy Mother's day.
It is quiet here this morning. Just me and the dogs are awake although they are asleep on the sofa. It is the best time of day in my life when I have nothing to do but write or read.
I've been missing my opportunities to read. I work 45-50 hours as a Technical Project Manager so to keep moving forward with my writing I have to keep writing after work no reading for me. I miss it.
Reading is an opportunity to explore new worlds. Get lost in someone else's drama. Their lives. It is exciting to experience the anticipation of the building up of a story then to have the climax in the ending. The ah moment when everything falls into place. The characters are happy and you are happy.
So yesterday I was wondering why does everyone choose to read a story? What are you reading and why?
I often read Deborah Bladon's books. I'm behind now obviously. I've still bought them they are waiting on my kindle app on my iPad. She's edgy and a good storyteller.
I've tried out the MC Romances. I think those can be difficult to write because the writers try to be edgy but they can come across as kind of silly but MN Forgy is really good with the MC Romance series. Read all hers.
I read all kinds of romances from historical bodice ripping (although they aren't really like that anymore are they?) to baddest bad boy romances the doms and submissives. Again those can be just silly at times.
I still like a good John Grisham or Stephen King book as well. I just like to read. Always have, always will.
Part of what I try to keep in the back of my mind when I'm selling my books is keeping it as inexpensive as possible. I like that when I see an author who hasn't overprice her/his books. Times are hard and if you like to read a lot like I do then it can get expensive. I cringe sometimes when I see my credit card statement and see how much I've spent on my kindle app. Yikes the books add up quickly. I'm a fast reader.
So one of Amazon's promotions as a self-published author on their site is to give away books.
May 11-15 For Always is Free. Happy Mother's Day.
Scarlett was one of my favorite characters. She looks like an Angel but she's voluptuous. She's sweet but she's sassy. She had to be growing up with so many boys around. Her brothers Alex and Tegan and their friends. It was fun to write her story. So it you get it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I wrote it.
Feel free to comment on what you enjoy reading and why. I would love to hear whether you read my books or not.
