Rina Ferrarelli is a poet and a translator of Italian poetry into English. At the age of fifteen she migrated from Italy to the United States, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Mercy College (Carlow University) and a master’s degree from Duquesne University. She taught writing and translation studies at the University of Pittsburgh for many years. Her works in translation focus on poets of the World War II generation whose wartime experience included resistance and imprisonment or other trauma. In addition to several books, her poetry, essays, and translations have been widely published in journals, periodicals, anthologies and textbooks.
