Happy World UFO Day! (Contest)

You didn’t know it was World UFO Day? Amazon Prime knows that. The Tomorrow War streams tonight, and I’m going to try to talk the family into watching! Who doesn’t like an epic fight, Man vs. Aliens? Okay, the thought of aliens arriving is great for movies and books, but the thought of real aliens arriving is kind of unnerving. They’d want something from us, right? Would we be food or friends?

“If Aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans.”
~Stephen Hawking

I love the idea of UFOs. I believe there is intelligent life out there in the cosmos. Whether they’ve visited us or not, well that’s for smarter people than me to figure out.

What do you think? Have you seen one? Or know someone who has? Answer for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!

Kennedi Darling: Tattered Souls MC — Dagger

Hi everyone, my name is Kennedi Darling and I write contemporary MC Romance. I live in sunny Arizona with my wonderful husband of almost 14 years, our two boys, aged eight and four years, a super laid-back dog named Roxie, an ornery turtle named Gloria, and two fish that have lived forever, yet remain unnamed. I spend my days as a full-time stay-at-home mom to my boys, as well as a full-time caregiver to my ten-month-old niece. My nights are a different story. I use the little free time I have to research, plot, and write.

My journey as an author started a little less than a year ago, though I have always enjoyed writing. I woke up from a dream, and in that dream, I’d written a book. At the time I didn’t have any idea what the book was about, nor could I remember any other details of the dream. For the next few days, every time I slept, I’d awaken with another piece of the puzzle, until one day a week later, I had the whole picture.

I’d dreamed of a series and the characters within it. From that very moment on, it was as if an entire world developed before my eyes. My characters started coming forward, slipping details to me like a love note written in class. Their names and what they did, all formed this brilliant image in my mind’s eye until I couldn’t think of anything else.

I started carrying a notebook with me wherever I went because I never knew when one of these characters would breathe life into their existence and leave me scrambling to jot down what they told me.

Honestly, when I sat down to begin writing, my husband thought I was nuts. “You’re going to do what now?” he said to me. “A book, like for other people to read?” I understood his confusion. Never in our sixteen years together had I ever mentioned wanting to write a book and now, all of a sudden, I was embarking on this journey I dove into headfirst. Well, I set out to write something that I thought people would love and relate to and be able to feel with every fiber of their being, and I hope I’ve done just that.

I’d always had a love for books. There’s just something peaceful and utterly amazing about the ability to bring something to life with one’s mind. I am absolutely thrilled to share my first book with everyone, and I hope you’ll take a chance on me.

If you’ve ever read the MC romance genre before, you’ve probably heard of the SAA (sergeant at arms) position and what it entails. For those that haven’t, the SAA’s job is to maintain the security of the club. That includes the members, their families, and all their property. My debut novel features a decorated former Army Ranger who now holds the SAA seat at the officer’s table for the Tattered Souls MC.

Follow Dagger’s journey along an emotional rollercoaster, battling a loss he wasn’t prepared for, treading water in a sea of misconception, and finally getting his hard-earned HEA. This book of trials, heartache, and undying love will leave you with a book hangover of epic proportions, but don’t worry. More is to come from the TSMC.

Dagger

Sienna:
I promised him forever, only one mistake became never.
My body was no longer my lover’s temple, but a madman’s canvas.
Instead of quivering with pleasure, I shuddered in pain.
Now I’m back, a shell of a woman with a shattered mind and a tattered soul.
There’s no way Dagger would see me for the woman I was.
And the loneliness is going to kill me.

Dagger:
I promised her forever, only one call became never.
Dreams of the future were no longer peaceful, but shattered by nightmares.
The woman who held the key to my soul was gone, though I never moved on.
Now she’s back, though tattered and broken.
She’ll never believe she still owns my heart.
But I’m determined to avenge her.

Dagger is the first book in the Tattered Souls MC. This story includes a HEA, no cliffhanger, and no cheating.

Adult Content Warning: This book contains explicit language, sexual scenes, and violence.

**Trigger Warnings**
This book contains instances of past torture, the recounting of past mental and physical abuse, as well as an instance of suicidal thoughts and a stopped attempt. If any of these subjects affect you negatively, this book may not be suitable for you.

The Devlin Family’s Musical “Heritage” (Contest)

The 16-year-old girl drove me into town today. Before we left the driveway, she plugged in her phone, pulled up Pandora, and started the song list at the top of her menu.

The first song played was “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters, the next was “Rockin’ Robin” by Bobby Day, followed by Etta James’ “At Last.” She sighed when she heard that song, saying, “That one’s my favorite.” BTW, she sang every word of every random song played. I couldn’t have been more proud.

Her mom had the same taste growing up, and this didn’t happen because we play Classic Rock and Motown songs 24/7 in our house. We listen and know well all the current hits, but the teenager is the one who brings up the frequent gripe our family shares that they just don’t make memorable music anymore. When the opening strains of “Stand by Me” play, you instantly know the song, and no matter how long it’s been since you heard it last, you remember the words.

This morning when the guitar riff at the start of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” played, we both squealed and began dancing in our seats. I guess we’re doing something right. 🙂

Contest

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me what songs bring the biggest smiles and joy to your family!

Anne Rainey: That One Crush

I know we’ve all had that one crush in high school. That guy/girl that looked right through you, while you scribbled their name in your notebook. Fantasized about them day and night. And watch from afar as they date other people, wishing it were you. It’s a major blow to your self-esteem and you even find yourself wondering what’s wrong with you? Why doesn’t he/she see me? Well, in my current release, Zoe has just about had it with Rafe Montgomery. Waiting for him to notice her. Waiting for him to make the first move. This is the twenty-first century, right? Women don’t sit around hoping a guy will toss them a crumb. Not anymore. We go after what we want. The question is, will Rafe take what Zoe’s offering or will she be left to nurse a broken heart?

Rafe: A Men of Silverlake Novella

This year is sure to be her hottest Christmas yet…

Rafe Montgomery has one goal. Get the hell out of Silverlake before the annual Christmas bash. Everyone in town shows up to celebrate the festive holiday, including Zoe VanBurn. Rafe has fantasized about the cute brunette one too many times. But there’s a very clear hands-off vibe—thanks to Zoe’s big brother Ace. Still, the innocent smiles and teasing remarks she tosses his way are getting harder to ignore. Escaping to sunny Florida is Rafe’s only hope. So when Zoe shows up on the beach wearing a sexy red bikini, Rafe goes down like a sinking ship. Having Zoe in the tropical paradise away from big brother’s watchful eye? Yeah, that’s sure to spell trouble.

A twenty-four-year-old virgin and in love with a man who looks right through her. That’s Zoe VanBurn’s reality. In high school, she sat back and watched as Rafe flirted with other girls. Still, Zoe has kept hope alive because deep down she knows that Rafe belongs to her. They aren’t in high school anymore and Zoe isn’t the same shy girl she used to be. He might be running scared, but Zoe knows exactly what she wants for Christmas…and she’ll use every trick in the book to get him!

My birthday gift to you! (FREE story!)

It’s my birthday today! And I’m giving the gift!

My family did the cake (cheesecake, yum!) and gift thing yesterday (the 12-year-old has a minor surgery today). They also took me out to dinner. They gave me wonderful things that proved they know me all too well—a project rack for my art room, a Groundhog Day Pop! figurine, an astronaut in a snowglobe, taco-shaped Post-Its, a To-Do list tablet, a hedgehog-shaped jeweled box, etc. All perfectly random and kitschy gifts—things to make me smile.

I thought I’d share my happy mood with you today. Be sure to download your free copy of Johnny Blaze!

Your favorite flower? (Contest)

Our newly planted roses are budless at the moment, likely due to the stress of the sudden arrival of the hot-as-hell summer we’re experiencing at the moment in Arkansas! I love blooming plants. My favorite is the sunflower. The blooms remind me of the tall fields of sunflowers I used to bicycle past when I was on my way to the Army post where I worked in Germany. I got to see them throughout their life cycle. I also love roses (especially great big cabbage roses), peonies, and hibiscus. This puzzle has me ready to search for this flower to see whether I can order one. It’s lovely!

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me your favorite flower AND tell me if you have flowers growing inside or outside your house!

Celebrate Their Collections (Contest)

In June 15th’s blog, Our Silly Collections… (Contest), I shared a picture of one of my little collections (I am a collector of many odd things). I asked readers to send me photos of their collections to share and offered a prize to one person who shared. Enjoy the photos from these brave souls! And comment below to win a FREE download!

From Jen B.: Dice. These are only the fancy ones in my living room.  I have others.  I love dice because you play games with them and they are great for four math games.

From DD: I love these, Jen! I love how worn and misshapen some of them are. Many, many hands have touched them! Only never gift me with a piece because it would likely get a hole drilled into the piece so it could hang on a necklace or bracelet!

From Katherine Anderson: For me, it’s my crystal collection, each piece was given to me by someone, or belonged to one of my relatives who has passed and then left to me. Each one has a story and means something so that’s why this collection is my most special.

From DD: Katherine, the best collections begin as gifts and bequests! Love passed along. I love your crystals!

From Daun Ann Korty: I have two main collections, lighthouses and Wonder Woman.

I love lighthouses because when it’s dark in your mind, their light brings you back to the light and I used to hang out at one in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I’ve also attached a diamond painting I just finished of the lighthouse in San Diego. It’s the old Point Loma or Cabrillo lighthouse. From DD: It’s a lovely collection! Are you going to frame your painting?

I love Wonder Woman, because as a kid, she was my hero and I’ve never fallen out of love with her. Also attached is me in my WW costume my mom made me.From DD: Wow! Your mom was talented! Love the red boots too. I have a Wonder Woman or two sitting here in my office, but your collection is awe-inspiring!The post Blog first appeared on Delilah Devlin.

Desiree Holt: What’s not to love about a heroic SEAL! (Contest)

Leave a comment for a chance to win a $10 Amazon GC!

*~*~*

If you’ve read any of my books at all you know my ultimate hero is a SEAL, active or former. To me they are the quintessential champion.

From the dense jungles of the Mekong Delta to the hot and dusty cities of Iraq, from deep below the ocean’s surface to mountain ridges in Afghanistan, the US Navy SEALs — “frogmen” — have been a fixture in special operations since they were formally activated in 1962.

But no SEAL takes their place in The Teams for granted; they know they must earn their Trident every day. It can mean the difference between mission success and failure, or even life and death. But what it means to be a SEAL day in, day out is different for everyone who serves in this elite maritime unit.

“Being a SEAL is about earning that Trident every day. Service and brotherhood — that’s a big part of what it means to be a Team Guy.” Former SEAL Jack Carr

But what happens when they become victims of the very war they fight, wounded, and no longer able to be an active-duty SEAL? My series, Heroes Rising, part of Elle James Brotherhood Protectors World, is about men faced with that challenge and a former SEAL, Alex Rossi, now a sheriff in Montana, who rebuilds his department with other SEALs. They may not be military any longer, but their courage is still strong and they still fight the war against crime.

His latest addition is Brant “Wolf” Makalski and his also discharged dog, Bailey.

The reviews have been incredible. Here is just a taste of them:

“Action, adventure, danger, laughs, romance, and dogs! Overall, great read!”

“Once you start this book you won’t be able to put it down, it’s a story that grabs your attention from the start.”

“In spite of the almost hairraising tension, there’s some things to make you giggle. The dream sequences are sizzling hot in spite of them being just dreams.”

“Wow….this book had me up and reading until the wee hours of the morning. It’s one that has you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath to see what will happen next.”

The Hunt

Can an injured former Navy SEAL start a new life, new job, and find love all at the same time?

Find out in THE HUNT!

Book #$ Heroes Rising

She’s desperate…

Lacey Cooper, a wildlife photographer, is desperate to find her sister, camping in the Crazies with her fiancé. She’s been out of touch for a week and no one seems unduly disturbed. “It happens in the Crazies all the time,“ people keep telling her. In the past ten years more than a dozen campers have been reported missing. But they could be anywhere. The Crazies stretch more than dix hundred miles. And only Alex Rossi is now willing to listen to her.

He’s lost his direction  in life until…

When Brantford ’’Wolf“ Makalski and his SEAL Team’s dog, Bailey, are both medically discharged after a mission gone wrong, he’s not quite sure what they’ll do with themselves. Checking out an offer from former SEAL and now Sheriff Alex Rossi might provide some answers. When he find Lacey unconscious in her car at the side of the road, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the arm, and no clue who shot her. Before he can blink Wolf is on Alex’s staff assigned as Lacey’s protector and their is an all out search for Heather and her fiancé. They could be anywhere but Rossi has an idea.

What they find in their search is worse than they expected…

And it’s more bizarre than anything Lacey could have imagined. Can they rescue them from hell? Can Wolf protect Lacey while they also battle unexpected feelings for each other.

Sabrina Silvers: Favorite Paranormal Creatures (Contest–2 Winners!)

I love paranormal romances. I always have. I’ve had visions of a story in my head for what I wanted to write for years but hesitated. Was it unique enough? Were there too many shifter books out there? Would people want to read it?

Last year, Delilah did a call for bad boys for one of her anthologies and, having never written that short before, I considered it. A prequel to my paranormal suddenly popped into my head and I dove in, writing furiously. The story poured out of me and then I continued into Alpha’s Moon, with the full series.

Shifters have always been a favorite paranormal read of mine. Not vampires, but wolves, dragons, lions, any creature that shifts. I was Team Jacob all the way. When I watch movies and television shows, like The Originals, I root for the shifters. Even in the Sookie Stackhouse series, I was all about Sam and not Bill.

So it made sense for me to focus on shifters in this story. But what kind? Wolves? Dragons? Cats? So many choices, so little time.

I love wolves. In dreams, wolves mean strength, freedom, and the ability to fiercely protect that which is dear to us. Wolves are powerful and invite us to claim our own power, to run free and live our most authentic life, without fear, without shackles, without shame.

That doesn’t mean wolves are the only shifters or paranormal creatures… but you’ll have to read the rest of the series to find out more.

What is your favorite paranormal creature to read about and why?
Answer for a chance to win a download of Alpha’s Moon!
(TWO WINNERS!)

Alpha’s Moon

The mating heat ignites between a dominant alpha-heir and a forbidden wolf-witch hybrid when they’re forced to find his kidnapped sister and stop a war.

Now is not the time for Kane to have found his mate. But the Goddess is never wrong. If he gives in to his desires for Sheridan, her lineage could cost him everything. Yet as his body aches for her, and thoughts of her curves cloud his mind, he finds himself willing to risk it all to claim her.

Forced, out of friendship and loyalty, Sheridan joins the hunt and gets more than she bargained for. A dangerous attraction to a darkly handsome wolf. While she seeks to distance herself from pack politics, Sheridan can’t deny that the first place she has ever felt she belongs is at Kane’s side. Not everyone agrees, and some will stop at nothing to destroy their love, their family, their future.

Excerpt from Alpha’s Moon

She cleared her mind, focused on the question and her vision of Kayleigh. Then she sent her will down the pendulum and deepened her breathing, ignoring the ache in her ribs. Finally, she felt the tug in the chain, pulling her toward the Massachusetts and New York border, at which point, it stopped, as if hitting a wall.

She sighed, letting her spine relax. She had a direction. A sound made her jerk and turn. Kane was leaning against the wall, just inside the door, his arms crossed in front of him, wearing jeans that fit him comfortably and a black leather jacket over a tight T-shirt. She tried to ignore the way he filled out the shirt and jeans, and the way his dark eyes heated as they roamed over her, but he didn’t move from the wall, just watched her with the steady intensity of the predator that he was. Her body heated as if his gaze was a laser as it traced her body, and a steady throbbing built deep inside reminding her of how long it had been since she’d been laid. His scent trailed through the room, through the layers of incense she’d lit, and she melted inside.

Damn it. She should have sensed him invading her house. Her wards should’ve warned her. How could he have slipped past them without her knowing? She uncrossed her legs, an involuntary whimper escaping her lips as blood rushed to the limbs and the stiff muscles protested the movement. Quickly, he shoved off the wall and gripped her arm, helping her to her feet, not touching her anywhere else, his hand burning her like a brand. He then shrugged off his jacket and handed it to her wordlessly.

“Not that I mind the way you’re dressed, but I thought you might be more comfortable this way.” His voice was a deep rumble, and she swore she could feel her pussy clenching then softening. Damn, he sounded sexy.

She narrowed her gaze and dropped his jacket, striding casually from the room to her bedroom where she forced herself to slowly dress, not letting on how it bothered her that he was seeing her naked. It didn’t bother him at all, since shifters had a much more open view of nudity, not able to shift with their clothes. But she had never liked being that vulnerable, not that she’d let him know that.

He leaned against the doorjamb and watched her with hooded eyes. Once she was appropriately armed with her jeans and black T-shirt, she turned to face him.

“Do you often break into women’s houses? Is that how you get your rocks off? Or is this some sort of bizarre courting ritual?”

He levered himself off the doorjamb and prowled over to her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “I find it funny that you ask about my courting of other females. I’ve never courted anyone, and I won’t be going to any other female’s house.” He leaned closer to her neck and inhaled. Then he stepped back. “And when I’m courting you, you’ll know it.”

She swallowed hard and let out a shaky breath. “I won’t hold my breath.”

He gave her a wolfish grin then frowned. “Why didn’t you tell me you were hurt this badly. You’re bruised all over the place. Didn’t Shayla heal you?”

The near-feral growl in his voice made her want to soothe him instantly, not a normal response for her at all, and she resisted the urge. Instead, she fisted her hands at her side and adopted a deliberatively casual pose, folding her arms over her chest and cocking out her hip. “She did what she could. I’m fine. You never answered my question. Why are you here?”

He scowled at her but dropped the subject. “I wanted to talk with you about Kayleigh and what you knew about her disappearance, to see if you had remembered anything else. And maybe share what I heard from some of the witnesses.”

Her pulse quickened at the prospect of hearing additional information. Maybe that would shake loose what was bothering her, help her with her own investigation.

He smirked, perhaps sensing her interest. “But first, tell me what you were doing. Was that a Finding spell?”

Son of a bitch. He was too smart by half, and he had seen her in the middle of the ritual. She couldn’t avoid the talk any further. At that moment, her stomach growled loudly, reminding her that she hadn’t eaten since dinner the night before, and not much at that.

“I brought food,” he said, “since Healing burns calories, and I didn’t know what you might have to eat. We can talk while we eat.”

He took her arm and started to lead her, but she resisted. One, because she knew where her own damned kitchen was and didn’t need anyone directing her. And two, when a shifter fed another, it usually meant something, especially when it was a dominant male, and Kane was Uber dominant, especially considering he was the next Alpha of his Pack. Taking food from him was a big deal, and she had to tread very carefully in the next few minutes.

Correctly interpreting her hesitation, he dropped her arm. “For goddess sake, Sheridan. You have to eat. Unbend your goddamn pride and take the offering. I’m not asking you to mate with me.”

She narrowed her gaze, sniffed once and smelled the food that she hadn’t before, and her stomach reminded her how long it had been since her last meal.

She strode past him, but not before he added, “Yet.”

About the Author

Sabrina Silvers began her writing career dreaming of elves, orcs, and hobbits in the fantasy section of her local library, looking in wardrobes for Narnia and Aslan, and hunting for gnomes in the forest. To her dismay, she never found any of them except between the pages of her books.

So, she had to go out and create them for herself, leading to her lifelong love of reading and writing and dreaming about adventures, fantasy creatures and love in fantasy lands! She divides her time between writing sexy contemporary romances under a different pen name, reading, knitting and being owned by a very spoiled cocker spaniel who does not share her love of fantasy creatures.

Not ready to take a deep breath… And OPEN CONTESTS!

I’m still waiting to DO NOTHING.  I finished Chase, and it’s out.  (If you haven’t read it yet, click on the cover! And thank you to everyone who has already purchased it!)

Chase (Montana Bounty Hunters: Dead Horse, MT Book 4)After the rush to get the book out, I hoped to take some time off from everything writing-related. It’s summer after all. And I’ve been very, very busy with writing, editing, and promoting. I’d like to rest my brain for a bit and recharge. These days, I cram work in to get it done. And while I do spend some evenings with the family—movie nights, swimming—I’d love to have a day (no, dayzzz) where I can wander upstairs and chat with kids and my dd without them raising eyebrows and asking, “Don’t you have some work to do?” How lovely it would be to say, “Nope. I’ve got nothin’ on my calendar. Not a damn thing.” But first, I have to finish the rush editing job I’m working on now. I have two more behind it, but I can take a break before I start them.

What would I do with that time off? I want to “art”. I want to make some potholders. Do some floating aimlessly around the pool. I want to binge on a series or two. I’m in the middle of one I never thought I’d watch nevermind enjoy—Downton Abbey. As a general rule, I don’t like British period pieces. Bridgerton bored the hell out of me. I yawned through the trailer for The Crown. But Downton? I thought I’d give it a shot…watch one show… And now, I’m invested in everyone’s lives. Who knew?!

And I want to watch The Witcher. It looks right up my alley. And dear God, could Henry Cavill be any more beautiful than he already is?!

So, I’m rambling, but you know what my goal is: Finish these damn edits and DO NOTHING.
