The Flame and the Feminist: The Feminism of Kathleen Woodiwiss?

Of all the romance novels least likely to be considered feminist, it might be the bodice rippers. But is that a fair assumption?

Must Reads: Scholarly works on the romance genre

Here are must Must Reads for the romance scholar or the romance reader who just wants to know more about her beloved books.

Must Reads: Bodice Rippers and Old Skool Romance Novels

The term bodice ripper may inflame your passions (in a bad way, or in a good way!), but these old skool romances are still worth a read. Some are entertaining and some show how much the genre has transformed. All of them are epic love stories with happy endings :)
