June 30, 2023: Groo Kickstarter Closes Today!

The Groo: The Game Kickstarter campaign is coming to a close today, and thanks to the hordes of Groo fans, it has been a massive success! We were able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original printing with over 1,500 other fans – how cool is that? Now, barring any Groo-shaped problems, the game enters production to be delivered to backers later this year. If you're seeing this post before noon Central time, there is still time to back! If you're seeing it later, don't worry! We do plan to bring Groo: The Game to retail late this year.

June 28, 2023: Into the Infinite Archipelago

Gaming Ballistic is at it again, with The Isle of Sedra,  their sixth crowdfunding campaign for  The Fantasy Trip,  on Kickstarter now.    The Isle of Sedra is the first in the Infinite Archipelago product line. Each setting in the series is self-contained, but can be utilized and inserted into a world - any world - as your players journey across the boundless sea. If you've played any of David Pulver's prior adventures for Gaming Ballistic, odds are you've been to Sedra before . . . you just didn't know it. Explore this formerly implied region in a brand-new setting guide expanding upon the major locations and introducing new factional alliances and conflicts to support all manner of adventures, including dark gothic fantasy, monster hunting, labyrinth and wilderness adventuring, and political intrigue. A setting is only as good as its adventures, and the campaign is funding two new ones in addition to the main setting book: Monster Hunter Belladonna is a programmed adventure which continues Bella's confrontations with the dangerous creatures from the Isle of Sedra. Play as the lethal maid Belladonna, or don the crimson cloak of the members of the Duke's new Monster Hunters' Guild. It's projected to run to 40 pages. The Scorpion Labyrinth takes you to the city-state of Tamuz – first introduced in Dragon Hunt . It lies on the edge of the Red Desert, dotted with the ancient ruins of a long-lost empire. An innkeeper has discovered a mysterious crimson door engraved with a scorpion sigil under his humble inn. Is it filled with riches? Trouble? Or a bit of both? Already written and laid out; at 28 pages, it lacks only art.The campaign features books, PDFs, and NPC and monster cards (like the Decks of Destiny ). Card collectors take note: there's something like 600 TFT cards available from Gaming Ballistic at the moment!

This is an ambitious campaign, and while it had a strong open over the weekend, Gaming Ballistic could still use your support! The Kickstarter runs through July 15.

June 27, 2023: Pyramid Pride!

You are welcome at my table. Just be nice to everyone else at the table; that's the only rule about who gets to sit down. Again,  you are welcome at my table.  That shouldn't even have to be said, but since it DOES have to be said, let's say it loudly and let the trolls fall where they may.

In honor of Pride, we present a matched set of rainbow designs. The images speak for themselves. Do they speak for you?

 

Shirts (and stickers!) are available at our Redbubble Store and Amazon Merch Store. Enamel pyramid pins are coming soon to Warehouse 23. And Pride doesn't end in June; these items are here to stay.

All proceeds from the sale of these designs will go to Lambda Legal to help them fight for human rights in the courtroom. While this is mainly a print-on-demand release, we will have shirts and pins to sell at Gen Con, so you can, like, WEAR one. I'm going to. If you don't like the shirts, you should send Lambda some money anyhow. They are doing the right thing.

A longer report will come soon, with pirctures and everything. This is being dashed off just before bedtime. Okay, be honest, somewhat AFTER bedtime.

Fun is being had.

The bidding went so high for Munchkin cards that three will be done for next year. Also auctioned the shirt off my back - will explain later. Total donations for charity due to Munchkin this time – $3,400. I am honored.

The Car Warriors launch went wonderfully, and the mead at the Three Ravens party had to be tasted to be believed.

Groo: The Game has generated a lot of interest around both the gaming and comic book sphere, and the folks at ComicBook.com got the lowdown from the man himself, Steve Jackson. Steve talks the history of the game, Sergio Aragonés, reprinting classic games, and even a little bit of GURPS ! As with our recent Wiz-War offering, Steve is a big fan of Groo: The Game , so bringing it back to print is an important project both personally and professionally. But you can get that straight from the horse's mouth in the ComicBook.com interview!
