High-ranked Christian Blog Blasts Ark Encounter

As we begin this New Year, I urge you to pray for the Christian leaders in this country.  So many of them compromise God's Word in Genesis—or just won't take a stand as they should on the authority of God's Word from the beginning.  We need a new reformation in our churches.

Our Ark Encounter project has received international media attention.  Atheist bloggers have had a field day with their hate-filled blogs (of course, it is their hatred of their Creator that really fuels them—sadly).  But the saddest aspect to us is not what the "world" has stated about the project—after all, we expect those of the world to be against anything that stands for the authority of God's Word.  The secularists'  reaction does not surprise us.

The saddest responses have come from certain parts of the Christian world.  A Christian blog that is ranked in the first dozen such blogs in various categories, called "Internet Monk," came out with its list of "most discussed posts" for 2010.  Guess which one was the number 1 most discussed post?  The Ark Encounter.  Here is what the blogger (now called Chaplain Mike) had to say about the Ark Encounter project:

The most-discussed post on Internet Monk in 2010 was this article that I characterized as "prophetic ridicule." The object of criticism was Ken Ham and those who are seeking to expand the "Creation Museum" to include a full-size Noah's Ark and more in a new theme park in northern KY.

In the cartoon world of contemporary American evangelicalism, it's  all about bigger, better, and simpler. Help folks think their dreams can come true. Create "moments" for people in the congregation that they  will never forget, that will "bless" families in safe and sanitized  settings. Remove the messiness and reality of day to day life. Instead,  put a sentimental, heart-tugging version of life up on the screen and  make people feel it. Embrace the possibilities.

Evangelicalism has become "Disney-ized."

For example, enter the Mickey Mouse world of Ken Ham and his theme park vision for the Christian faith.

. . . How can any thoughtful Christian  support a project like this? I  know some of you are going to write and  complain that I'm being  judgmental and why can't God use this to bring  others to Christ and  teach people about the Bible? Please. I will  respond as clearly and  directly and forcefully as I can—this project has  nothing to do with Biblical Christianity.

www.internetmonk.com/archive/the-most-discussed-posts-on-im-in-2010

Nothing to do with biblical Christianity?'  Does the authority of God's Word and the gospel have nothing to do with biblical Christianity?

The originator of this blog site, Michael Spencer, passed away, and the site is now run by a "Chaplain Mike." Michael Spencer came from a Southern Baptist background, but seemed comfortable in other "traditions."  He preached in a Presbyterian church but also worshiped at an Anglican church.

Here are excerpts from a previous blog on this site about the Ark Encounter:

For example, enter the Mickey Mouse world of Ken Ham and his theme park vision for the Christian faith.

IM's ever-vigilant Ohio correspondent, Jeff Dunn, reported in yesterday's Saturday Ramblings that Ken Ham and company is at it again. The Creation Museum near Cincinnati has decided to expand and build an 800-acre theme-park style complex featuring a replica of Noah's Ark. The project will cost an estimated 125 million dollars and is scheduled to open in 2014 in nearby Williamstown, KY.

Some have questioned whether it is legally permissible for the state of Kentucky to fund a religious theme park. I raise another question: Is it appropriate for Christians to "Disney-ize" their faith like this?

One critic termed the project a "particular confluence of faith-based fantasy and place-based entertainment in which the usual laws of physics, taste, or logic will obviously not apply." May I add, an informed reading of the Bible does not actually apply here either.

However, I'm sure that doesn't matter to the folks behind this. They are not really concerned about promoting a serious study and careful understanding what the Bible teaches, any more than the Disney corporation was truly interested in a thoughtful reading of Hamlet when they created The Lion King. They know what they believe already. And believing, they have set out to shape reality according to that image and make a new "dream come true.""

This blog has previously attacked the Creation Museum (a number of times in fact).  Here are a couple of excerpts as examples of what has been said on such blogs:

"Anytime someone tells me the "Creation museum" is a museum I want to run this piece out. Ham's organization owns this "museum." It's goal is to get the public in and discredit any science that doesn't come to the conclusions of fundamentalists."

"The museum is a very popular destination already. It's one of the major tourist draws in the Cinci region. Obviously they get a lot of church groups, but they just get a lot of crowds: adults, senior adults, vacationers, school groups from all over and kids who want to see Dinosaurs.

Friends who have been there tell me it is less a presentation of science than a presentation of Genesis. The point is evangelism more than education.

The article makes plain one of the things I've noticed most often about this kind of presentation: you can't trust anything a public school teacher or a public education source (like PBS) ever told you. History is different than you were told. Science is different. Astronomy is different. It's all very conspiratorial and it's meant to teach children especially to talk back to their teachers and to challenge them when they make any claims to historical or scientific knowledge that don't back up AIG's interpretations of the Bible.

One of the motivations for the museum is to counter the kinds of presentations done at zoos and museums around the country. In a way, it's kind of a propaganda race to see who can claim the minds of young people."

As I have always said, our ministry is first to the church—to call God's people (including Christian leaders) out of compromise and back to the authority of the Word of God—and then to the secular world, to proclaim the gospel based in real history (God's Word).

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying—and pray for a new reformation in our churches and with our church leaders.

Kentucky's Courier-Journal Corrected

Two of Kentucky's leading newspapers, The Courier-Journal (Louisville) and the Lexington Herald-Leader (though as one person said to me they often call it the "Mis-leader") have been responsible for spreading misleading and downright false propaganda against the Ark Encounter project—the full-size, all-wood Ark we are partnering to build in northern Kentucky. Recently on the Examiner.com website, a carefully written column dealt with some of the wrong information in an editorial from The Courier-Journal. Below are some excerpts from the article entitled, "Correcting more misconceptions about Ark Encounter":

The Ark Encounter project continues to generate controversy, ostensibly about tax incentives, but actually about the concept and mission of the project. Herewith some corrections to several still-current misconceptions.

An unnamed editor of the Louisville Courier-Journal gives voice to those misconceptions in an editorial published today. His major complaint is that the State of Kentucky will indeed incur a net hit to the public coffers by welcoming the project to the State. To make that complaint, he sets forth four arguments, all of which are provably wrong.

Since the incentive is in the form of rebates to the developers of sales taxes paid at the park by visitors, Mr. Beshear argued that the state would not be out any money if the park failed. (Actually, the state would be out taxes the park could collect before it went under, but who's counting?)

Rebuttal: the tax incentive is a partial rebate, not a complete one. Therefore, in the absence of any project in the region, the State receives no revenue. So the revenues that the State collects, even at a reduced rate, are a net positive.

[T]he developers now want the Transportation Cabinet to upgrade an Interstate 75 interchange in Grant County to accommodate the projected influx of visitors. There's no estimate yet of the price tag of the proposed improvements, but road construction to ease access to the Kentucky Speedway in Gallatin County cost the state about $45 million.

Rebuttal: this refers to another tourist attraction for which the Tourism Authority granted final approval of tax incentives at the same meaning in which it granted initial approval to the incentives for Ark Encounter and proceeded to hire the outside consultant to do impartial market research for the State. If the editorialist wants to complain about the cost of road improvements, then why didn't he complain about the Kentucky Speedway? This Examiner can find no record of any such complaint, so this is a non-issue. . . .

[T]he Governor and his aides insist that a state role in a park with a religious theme passes constitutional muster, and that there will be no religious discrimination in hiring employees at the park. In other words, if a gay Muslim with an advanced degree in evolutionary biology wants a top job at the park, he'll be welcomed by the creationists with open arms. Right? Hello?

Rebuttal: Nice try. Next time, do your research. The Economist did, and found an applicable US Court of Appeals precedent that speaks directly to this point: if the tourism authority endorses all tourist attractions, then it endorses none, and therefore does not "establish religion."

I encourage you to read the entire article on the Examiner.com website.

We should add that after a few news articles and editorials about the Ark Encounter appeared in both papers, the newspapers finally admitted—though further down in their recent pieces—that the state will not be taking money from its budget to fund the Ark, but that this all involves a possible rebate of sales tax collected at the Ark Encounter.

However, the damage has been done: other newspapers (including the Post-Gazette in Pittsburgh in its Wednesday editorial) and countless bloggers have been taking these two newspapers' false reporting and attacking AiG and the Ark. Sadly, even some church leaders have accepted the false reports at face value and have posted negative comments about us, and some Christians have written harsh letters and emails to our offices.

Only Two Nights Left for Christmas Town

The Creation Museum's very popular and spectacular Christmas Town event will be presented tonight and tomorrow evening as the final times for this Christmas season. Already, 17,000 visitors have attended the program, giving rave reviews. The lights, dramas, live nativity, and much more make for a wonderful family evening.

If you haven't been able to attend yet and you live within driving distance of our Cincinnati/northern Kentucky region, I urge you to do so. In fact, we have a group of 40 people visiting today from Pittsburgh (five hours away)—and Chicago is only a five-hour drive from us, Atlanta seven hours, St. Louis six hours, Detroit four hours, Nashville four hours, and Indianapolis less than two hours.

Here are some photographs of just part of the light display, taken by our Foto FX photographer, Deb Minnard:

Have a happy New Year, and if you have not yet made your year-end donation to our apologetics and evangelistic ministry, you can go to the donation page.

1.23 Million

As I have been recapping some interesting news items for 2010, I had to include the news that was covered by various media outlets when the Creation Museum welcomed its one millionth visitor in less than three years.

My blog post concerning this historic day reads as follows:

Media Covers Creation Museum's One-millionth Visitor

Mr. Joe Brown had never visited the Creation Museum (although his wife Malinda and son Joey had), so he didn't know what to expect when he walked through the museum doors yesterday—especially when I went up to greet him and his family.

I indicated that he was our one-millionth visitor to the museum (in less than 3 years). As I welcomed Mr. Brown, I gave him a basket of gifts that had been donated by various hotels and attractions in the area (coordinated through Cincinnati USA.com—for which we thank them). And our bookstore donated several DVDs and books to the gift basket; plus, we gave him a lifetime museum membership (with four guest passes that he could use for friends over the years).

The Brown family lives in Dayton, Ohio, and even though this was Joe's first time to the museum, he had been aware of our apologetics ministry through our Answers radio program that is aired in the Dayton area.

You may read the entire blog post.

Attendance at the Creation Museum continues to be very strong, despite the rough economy. We are on track to see similar attendance in this fourth year to that of the second and third years. By the end of this week we should be over 1,230,000 visitors.

I still remember the secularists scoffing at us three to four years ago, claiming people would not visit the Creation Museum. I recall scoffers even within the church, with some saying it would be a "white elephant."

Well, the Lord has blessed.

We are also experiencing secularists already claiming the Ark Encounter—with a full-size Noah's Ark, also to be built in northern Kentucky—will not get many visitors. See www.ArkEncounter.com. Well, they can scoff, but we continue to step out in faith, as we did for the Creation Museum, trusting our Heavenly Father to continue to lead us as He has so faithfully done since the formation of AiG.

Praise the Lord.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

President Obama's Position "Evolving"

To follow up yesterday's blog, here's another news item from 2010 we want to offer some comment on.

A December 2010 news item on the Fox News website had this headline: "President Obama's Changing Position on Gay Marriage."

The report then stated the following:

On the same day President Obama signed legislation repealing "don't ask, don't tell" the law that allowed gays to serve in the military without declaring their sexual preference, the president hinted he may be changing his mind about gay marriage in the United States.

"With respect to the issue of whether gays and lesbians should be able to get married, I've spoken about this recently … My feelings about this are constantly evolving. I struggle with this," Obama said at a press conference at the White House Thursday, shortly before leaving Washington for his vacation in Hawaii.

"At this point, what I've said is that my baseline is a strong civil union that provides them the protections and the legal rights that married couples have and I think that's the right thing to do. But, I recognize that from their perspective that's not enough. And I think this is something we're going to continue to debate and I personally am going to wrestle with going forward."

You may read more on the Fox News website.

Well, I suggest that President Obama's position has already "evolved."

In May this year (as was done last year), he issued a Presidential Proclamation:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2010 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month . . .

And in October 2009, President Obama at a dinner stated:

My expectation is that when you look back on these years . . . you will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men and two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman.

Yes, I do believe his views have already evolved. It is sad his views are not built on the never-evolving, unchanging Word of God:

And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." (Matthew 19: 4–6)

Pray for our president that he will be convicted to build his beliefs on the absolute authority of the Word of God, and not the ever-evolving relative morality of fallible man.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

The World Is Changing, But God's Word Does Not

I thought this week we could recap some "interesting" news items from 2010.  I'll have a follow-up item tomorrow.

In June, many news sources, including Fox News, carried this story:

Methodist theology school in Calif. to add Muslim, Jewish faiths to seminary curriculum

A rabbi, a minister and an imam walk into a classroom, and it's no joke.

The venerable Claremont School of Theology has taught Methodist ministers and theologians for more than a century, but in the fall they'll try an unorthodox approach: cross-training the nation's future Muslim, Christian and Jewish religious leaders in classrooms scattered around Southern California as they work toward their respective degrees.

You may read more on the Fox News website.

On the Claremont School of Theology website, we read the headline:  "THE WORLD IS CHANGING. AND SO IS CLAREMONT."

They explain the change this way:

Claremont School of Theology is engaged in a far-reaching and ambitious effort to transform the means by which religious leaders –including clergy, educators, scholars, counselors, and other religious figures — are trained in contemporary American society.

Although religions in America are conceived and practiced for the betterment of the world in which we live, all too frequently our religions have served as divisive forces in American society and the world at large.  In response to these realities, the Board of Trustees voted in March 2008 to set in motion the University Project as a means to rethink classical models of theological education in an effort to promote interreligious cooperation and ethical integrity in the training of religious leaders for a variety of religious traditions, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and others. . . .

By teaching students to recognize the integrity of their own traditions as well as the integrity of other traditions, we will graduate religious leaders who are well-prepared to recognize and cooperate with other religious traditions that can play important roles in addressing the needs of our contemporary worldd.

Our Methodist Roots

Claremont School of Theology has functioned as a Methodist theological school since its foundation in 1885 as the MaClay College of Theology in San Fernando (1885-1900) and later as the University of Southern California School of Religion (1900-1956).  Since moving to Claremont in 1957, it has continued to be engaged in the preparation of ministers for The United Methodist Church and other Protestant denominations as well as scholars for the broader religious world and academy.  Throughout its history, Claremont School of Theology as been recognized for its ecumenical and interreligious outlook and for its rigorous academic training.

As the founding partner of the University Project, Claremont School of Theology will continue to prepare clergy and leaders for The United Methodist Church and other traditions within Christianity. But it will also develop a consortium that clusters several collaborating graduate schools and centers around a religiously focused University.  Our partners will likewise train religious leaders in their respective traditions (Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.).

Well, the world is changing (as Claremont has changed), but God's Word does not change. There are so many things we could say in relation to this news item, but I will just end with two verses of Scripture:

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)

Our nation needs prayer! Many seminaries of this nation need prayer!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

Super Early Bird Discount Extended for Summer Conference

Through January 14, 2011, the early bird will catch a super rate for our 2011 Apologetics Mega Conference. We have just extended our super early bird rate until Friday January 14 for our conference here in our northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. It's going to be an amazing conference jam packed with faith-strengthening answers upholding biblical authority in an age of skepticism.

Everyone who attends will be taught by some of the finest apologists and speakers in the nation such as Dr. Charles Ware, Dr. Steven Boyd, Dr. David DeWitt, Dr. Joseph Francis, our own Answers in Genesis specialist speakers, and more. Registration includes entry to the Creation Museum only 15 minutes from the conference venue at Florence Baptist Church in Kentucky.

Make a vacation of it and add in some of the fantastic attractions in the Greater Cincinnati area such as the Dayton Air Force Museum (it's free), Cincinnati Zoo and Newport Aquarium, Kings Island roller coaster park, and many beautiful parks and gardens. To be held on July 18–22, 2011, this conference is one to definitely register for and mark on the calendar. For information and registration, go to the conference page.

Pastors' Conference October

Also, and especially for pastors, keep an eye out for this year's Answers for Pastors conference to be held on October 18–20 in our very own Creation Museum—in what will be our newly constructed conference venue right here on the museum site. Along with the AiG team, Dr. Al Mohler (president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) and other special guests will bring a unique blend of teaching centered in biblically authoritative instruction and apologetics. All this to equip pastors and Christian leaders in the role of shepherding the flock in a doubting world.

Keep your eyes open for our super early bird registration coming very soon; for the moment, forward this blog post to your pastor and ask him to hold the October dates on his calendar. More information will be posted soon to our website, including how to register.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

Free Day

Over 700 more guests attended this year's free day at the Creation Museum on Christmas Eve than visited last year.

We praise the Lord for those from the community who also came to view the Planetarium program—and see the various exhibits and walk through the Bible.

Here are some photographs from the day:

Part of the parking area

Some of the visitors lining up to go through the Grand Canyon exhibit to the Seven C's of History walk-through

Part of the portico and main hall areas with people lined up for the planetarium program

The Christmas Eve free day has become an annual event at the Creation Museum.

Trust you had a very blessed Christmas Day. In Australia, by the way, we call today "Boxing Day."

Uncovering the Real Nativity—Free Download

On this Christmas morning in the USA (a snowy Christmas morning here in Northern Kentucky), I trust you will all have a blessed Christmas with your family and friends.

I wanted to give all of you the opportunity of reading the booklet entitled Uncovering the Real Nativity that is being handed out free to people at the special Christmas Town evening programs at the Creation Museum (four more to go by the way:  December 27, 28, 31, and January 1—go to the Christmas Town page for details).

The booklet was put together by various staff at the AiG/Creation Museum ministry.

This would be a good booklet for you as a family to read through as a special devotion/teaching time.

You can download this booklet to your computer at the following link (or just open it at the link and read from there): Uncovering the Real Nativity

Christmas Town Photos

Deb Minnard, a photographer for the Creation Museum "Foto FX" booth,  sent me these photos taken at the Christmas Town event.

Photographs of course don't do justice to the entirety of the event, but they give a bit of an overview of certain aspects. Enjoy these photos, and if you want to enjoy the real Christmas Town, you can still do so on December 27, 28, 31 and finally January 1. All the details are on the Christmas Town page.

Here are the photos:

Scientist Active in UK Creation Outreach

On yesterday's blog post, I recently wrote about a scientist in the United Kingdom who won a prestigious award for scientific research.

Dr. Andy McIntosh, who is a professor at Leeds University in England, is an ardent creationist, and speaks for AiG in the UK and USA—and other parts of the world. Dr. McIntosh also speaks across the globe as part of his own personal ministry.

I have known Andy for many years, and appreciate his love for the Lord and his active creation apologetics ministry. So that you can pray for him and also see what an award-winning creation scientist is doing to get out the truth about God's Word in Genesis to people in the UK and other parts of the world, I have included excerpts from Dr. Mcintosh's latest ministry report for you:

ACM Creation Update December 2010

To you all – thank you so much for your prayers this last quarter. It has been as busy as ever as it seems more and more churches are seeing the importance of coming to grips with the important issue of Creation and its foundational place in Gospel work.

However so is the opposition within some branches of the evangelical church to take this matter seriously. This is such an important battle since true revival of Biblical Christianity has always been associated with a belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. It is the Lord's sovereign will which brings revival, but it is the responsibility of His people to believe the Book that He has wonderfully given us  Please continue to pray against the rising flood of theistic evolutionary teaching which is continuing to try and undermine the influence of Biblical thinking.

Since he has gone so very public against us, I have no reserve in warning all the danger of the book 'Creation or Evolution – do you have to choose?' by Denis Alexander and to encourage you to read the book a number of us have put together 'Should Christians embrace evolution?' (Ed. Norman Nevin IVP) which answers such theistic evolutionary thinking. Only a robust defence of Creation-based thinking theologically and scientifically can resist the error of theistic evolution perpetrated by Denis Alexander and associates, and many others today. Only by understanding the theological origin of evil arising due to the Fall of Man (death after the Fall of our progenitor Adam) can one really understand the full impact of the Cross and Redemption. Evolutionary teaching undermines the Gospel. Huxley knew this very well years ago when he championed Darwin's ideas and wrote ('Lights of the Church and the light of Science', 1890) of the connection of Creation and the Fall with the Gospel of Redemption that he hated.

The Church has given way and lost its way both theologically and scientifically by succumbing to the lie of Evolution.

A brief report of the meetings recently taken:

Creation Matters North West – 15th – 17th October

It was a joy to stay with Andrew and Linda Rowell in Carlisle. Andrew is the pastor of Grace Evangelical Church in Carlisle and also runs the Creation Matters NW Creation group – I spoke at Carlisle and on Friday 15th on 'Creation – what is the issue?' and on the Saturday 16th at Emmanuel Church Workington on "Creation or Evolution – looking at the evidence". There was a good thirst for the books as well as listening to the talks. . . . I continued there on the Sunday 17th preaching in the morning and at Carlisle again at night.

Farnham and Winchester 30th – 31st October

Two great opportunities at the end of October. Our friends for many years Gerard and Philippa Chrispin on Sat 30th October put on a 'Men's Breakfast' (is that allowed in these politically correct days?) – it worked and many folk came in who would not usually hear the Gospel. Gerard interviewed me in his own inimical style and we moved from Creation to the Cross and serious conversations followed with unbelievers. Gerard and Philippa are involved in Prison ministry with Christian Prison Resources (CPR) and go tirelessly (it seems to me…) to many prisons sharing the Gospel all over the country – do pray for their work – see http://www.christianprisonresources.org.uk/

Then in the evening of Sat 30th October I did a meeting in the Guildhall, Winchester put on by Richard Turner (pastor of Hyde Street Chapel) on 'Fossils, Dinosaurs and the Word of God', Winchester Conference Chamber. This was a superb site with all the books at the front of the meeting and many enquiries afterwards. I am full of admiration when small fellowships reach out in this way. We stayed with Richard and Fiona that night and I preached at Hyde Street Chapel the next morning.

Chesterfield, Derbyshire 12th November and Nottingham University Christian Union 19th November

On Friday Fri 12th November David Boyden (who kindly produces the DVDs for me – and others) had me speak to their fellowship at the Holmewood Community Centre, and I spoke on "Design Information and Thermodynamics", and "Fossils Dinosaur Bones and the Bible". Then on Fri 19th November at Nottingham University I did a Christian Union lunchtime meeting repeated twice for two seatings) on "Has Science buried God?" After the second meeting in particular there were intense conversations going on – one with a Christian who has got caught up with thinking which said that Genesis was not historical, and when asked whether Christ's teaching in Matt 19 and Paul's statements in Rom 5 and 1 Corinthians 15 (all founded on Genesis) were consistent with this, said that both Genesis as symbolic and the NT teachings could both be true – "because you (ACM) are a scientist, you see things in this way … ." It was sad – this person was not accepting that Truth revealed must stand in every age and is not dependent on who proclaims it.

Another person who came was the leader of the secular society and yet wide open to consider the Gospel – He came from a Christian background and in his case (unusually) did not have so much a problem with Creation, but more with the reliability of the New Testament – so I presented arguments to him concerning the Resurrection of Christ being well attested and recommended Josh McDowell's "Evidence that demands a verdict". These evangelistic meetings run by Christian Unions are well worthwhile – I recommend them to any students thinking of ways to reach out to fellow students in evangelism.

Sunday Morning Live BBC1 Sun 21st November

I reported on my brief appearance on Sunday Morning Live on Sun 21st November – there was little time to say a lot. I was given about two minutes via web cam and was able to make some points about the intricate mechanisms in nature (feather – ATP motor in the cell and information in DNA). A biosciences lecturer Jeremy Pritchard from Birmingham University alleged that the design argument had been disproved by the philosopher David Hume, and did not even attempt to address the science issues, and then time ran out. But another Creation speaker in the studio had a greater opportunity.

Kirklees-Yorkshire Creation Group Mon 29th November

On Mon 29th November the Kirklees-Yorkshire Creation Group ran a meeting "Creation – looking at the evidence" tunately in Cleckheaton near Leeds – and though it was the beginning of the snow here, there was good attendance and interest.

Baldock Baptist Church Fri 3rd – Sun 5th December

Fortunately by Fri 3rd Dec the roads had cleared of snow and we managed to get to Baldock and do a meeting on the "Creation– what's the issue?" followed by next day on Sat 4th a Breakfast meeting which again proved to be a very good opportunity to speak to people who would never normally come to a  Christian meeting. Then in the evening I spoke on "Design, Intelligence and the Word of God" and preached at Baldock Baptist on the Sunday morning. . . . Creation evangelism is a valuable means of  reaching people who would rarely come to other events.

Both Juliet and I thank you for standing with us in this ministry which is often spoken against but is so connected to the Biblical Gospel. We covet the fervent prayers of God's people. Ps 127:1 "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain"

A good Christmas to you all – may we remember in this increasingly dark nation of Britain, that light only comes through worshipping Christ who is the true Light of the World. May His light be shed abroad in our hearts in exactly the same way as the light was shed abroad on the first day of Creation – 2 Cor 4:6 "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." Christ is the key to Creation, Redemption and the purpose behind all.
