Jeremy Dooley created a new book--and an original font--to tutor tots on typeface.
They say necessity is the mother of invention, but new parenthood isn't bad for coming up with new ideas either. "After my son was born, I found that his very simple books started me thinking about a lot of basic concepts that I would have normally taken for granted," says designer Jeremy Dooley.

After the phone numbers of 4.6 million users were compromised by hackers on New Year's Day, it's been revealed that Snapchat reportedly signed on Washington lobbying firm Heather Podesta + Partners. This will mark the first time the Los Angeles startup has enlisted a lobbying firm.















Pinterest Acquires VisualGraph To Ramp Up Its Visual-Discovery Engine
VisualGraph founder Kevin Jing will lead Pinterest's visual-discovery team.
Pinterest announced Monday it has acquired image-search startup VisualGraph to better understand what users are pinning and to ramp up the social network's discovery features. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

AT&T's "Smartphone On Four Wheels"
Drive Studio plans a wave of innovations aimed at getting drivers to give up more control.
As part of its next wave of Knight Rider-like automotive system advancements, AT&T is opening Drive Studio, a 5,200-square-foot garage and workshop in Atlanta. It's where the communications giant plans to pair manufacturers such as Nissan, Tesla, GM, BMW, and Ford with tech giants and analytics companies such as Ericsson and Accenture. The announcement was made at the International CES in Las Vegas today.















Siri Knows About The Movie "Her" And She Does Not Like It

Those crack journalists at BuzzFeed have figured out that Siri is aware of her on-screen doppelgänger in the new Spike Jonze film Her. As 9to5Mac put it, "asking Siri about the actually artificial intelligence causes her to respond with a variety of disparaging lines that sometimes border on jealousy." When that writer tried inquiring about the film, he got his own interesting reply. The prompt BuzzFeed used was "Siri, are you her?" The Huffington Post also got some unique ripostes. Google Wants To Bring Android To Cars This Year
The firm announces the Open Automotive Alliance, promising to produce Android-connected cars by the end of 2014.
Google is trying once more to innovate in the automotive space by putting Android in cars. The firm announced Monday it has partnered with several automakers and tech companies "that share a vision for making technology in the car safer, more seamless and more intuitive for everyone." The resulting coalition is being called the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA).
