What It's Really Like For Female Venture Capitalists In A Man's World

Faced with rampant sexism and ageism, female venture capitalists only comprise about 4% of the industry. Here's how women can rise above.

If you haven't been hiding under a rock, you know the tech industry has a huge gender problem. A recent study shows how difficult it can be for women trying to make it in bro-centric Silicon Valley. People Like To Watch Porn On Mobile Devices--Not So Much In North America

Talk about a mood killer: In Asia, a video can stall 38.4 seconds for each minute of playback.

When it comes to mobile video, YouTube is king. But across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, adult video sites remain popular--less so in North America, which prefers Instagram and Vine, thank you very much.

I realized the word "selfie" had, in some circles, all but replaced the word "photo" during the long weekend I spent entrenched in the world of YouTube fandom at VidCon. Though the mobs of mostly teenage girls would, when I asked them why they had come to the conference, say they wanted to meet their favorite YouTube celebrities, the chief prize was a collection of selfies that featured their favorite YouTube celebrities as props.

The Celeb Photo Leak: Is Using ICloud Safe?

Yes, probably. But ensuring that all your nudes and private information are protected is really goddamn complicated.

Over the weekend, dozens of intimate and private photos belonging to famous women were published to the Internet, awakening a dormant kraken of horny males all flocking to their computers in chorus. Although it's unclear how the collection was obtained, the flood of images on 4chan--and, not much later, on Reddit and Twitter--sparked a smorgasbord of misogyny and victim-shaming, and called into question the security of the cloud.

Tastier, Healthier, And Animal-Free: Can Ethan Brown Reinvent Meat?

Beyond Meat wants to change the world, one protein fiber at a time.

Imagine that you had to describe meat to someone who's never encountered the stuff. It would be hard to do because meat is, you know, meat. You'd begin with where it comes from--the muscles and flesh of chickens, cows, pigs, etc. You'd offer characteristics (the sunset-pink of a medium-rare steak, the savory flavor, the chewiness, the grill marks when you cook it over fire) and the things you can make from it, such as burgers, nuggets, and cold cuts. If you wanted to describe what meat isn't, the top category on your list would clearly be plants.
