But a few months ago, a 17-year-old girl from Ghana launched a new Twitter campaign to help change skewed international perceptions.

Large brands use apps to advertise all the time. So, it seems, presidential candidates do now as well. Rand Paul's campaign just released a new app, which is the most extensive released by a candidate for the 2016 presidential race yet.

Given what we've heard thus far, the company is essentially infusing Apple TV with functions already found in competitors like Roku and Amazon Fire TV, all while putting Siri's contextual technology and Apple's marketing muscle behind the product.

In July, Amazon officially debuted its Dash button: an Internet-connected, branded, physical button that orders refills of various products with a single press. As of Wednesday, the e-commerce giant is making the Dash button program available to all Prime subscribers—and giving you a rebate that essentially refunds the price of the button.
