ACLU Urges Feds To Adopt Privacy Rules For Broadband And Cable
The American Civil Liberties Union and other advocacy groups are urging the FCC to adopt privacy rules for broadband and cable.
A coalition of privacy groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, and New America's Open Technology Institute wrote to the Federal Communications Commission Monday calling on the telecom regulator to limit how broadband and cable providers use personal data about viewing and browsing habits.










Uber Says It Has Received Five Reports Of Rape Since December 2012
Leaked screenshots from Uber's customer service database had shown thousands of inquiries containing the words "rape" or "sexual assault."
Uber says that its customer service arm recieved five claims of rape and about 170 claims of sexual assault between December 2012 and August 2015. The ride-hailing company provided the numbers to BuzzFeed News as a rebuttal to leaked screenshots of its customer service platform, which show separate search queries for "rape" and "sexual assault," each returning thousands of inquiries from customers.

After debuting its first physical bookstore in Seattle last year, Amazon is expanding its footprint with a second location.
Amazon is building a second brick-and-mortar bookstore in a San Diego mall, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports, with plans to open the store this summer. The new location of Amazon Books will round out a section of the mall that already boasts an Apple store and Tesla showroom.
