Nerd Herd Book 3
The Nerd Herd Book 3 will officially be released on November the 1st!
Book Three is subtitled OUTFOXED. Barny has been lamb-napped and his trusty friends Shaama Llama Ding Dong and Billy the Kid must come to the rescue. What will Barny find in Mrs Fox’s den? Will his friends ever find him? Track how many days, hours, minutes and seconds until release day below.

Write Like an Author
Run in Sydney during the school holidays, this workshop is all about the writing process and how to create great creative work.
This internationally acclaimed writing course is for students aged 9-14 and shows you how to write stories the way authors do.
Over 3 days, I will be taking you on a journey of fun and discovery, learning how to create, develop and write awesome stories, guiding you every step of the way.
The course has been developed by international award winning author and writing coach Brian Falkner and proven for over a decade in classrooms in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
Length: 3 days – Monday, September 20, 2021 to Wednesday, September 22, 2021
Times: 9am to 4pm
Venue: OLSH Primary School, Randwick
For ages: 9 – 14 years
Write Like an Author is a registered Creative Kids Provider so you can use your Creative Kids Voucher!

Meet the Author Event
Join Sydney-based author and award-winning poet, Elizabeth Cummings, and her friends (including me!) as they talk about the new CBCA Anthology of stories, poetry and plays for children titled Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.

The creators are all CBCA NSW Branch members who work and reside in NSW. From lifetime achievers to emerging new talent, each creator brings their own interpretation of the Book Week theme to share with Australian children everywhere, supporting this great new initiative and showcasing their work and the love of reading.
Due to the recent NSW Health orders, this event will be held exclusively online.

Outfoxed
A number of people have been contacting me asking when Nerd Herd 3: Outfoxed will be released.
The good news is that it will be released this year. Yay!!! It’s official release date is the 1st of November. Keep checking out this site over the next few months and you’ll see the cover revealed.

Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds Anthology
The NSW Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia have produced this AMAZING new anthology of stories, pictures, plays and poems.
This anthology has been developed by a dedicated committee of the CBCA NSW Branch Eastern Suburbs Sub-branch, to celebrate 2021 CBCA Book Week ‘Old Worlds New Worlds Other Worlds’. The anthology contributors have all donated their stories, plays and poetry, illustrations and production skills—over 70 contributors, including some of the most well-loved Australian children’s literature creatives. And I have a story included!!
The funds raised by the sales of this anthology will further the work of both the CBCA NSW Branch and their Eastern Suburbs Sub-branch in fulfilling their shared purpose: to ensure Australian children have stories written for them, to support and celebrate the work of our Australian creatives, and to promote the joy of reading.

The Countdown is on!
The Nerd Herd Book 2 will officially be released on June the 1st!
Book Two is subtitled RAGING WOOL and in it, Barny and co must deal with T-Bone, the massive bull who escaped his pen at the end of Book 1.

Story Scoop
Story Scoop is a sneak peek into the creative process behind kids’ books.
Story Scoop (a brainchild between the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the NSW Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia) is for teachers, librarians, kids and adults who love books for kids and are curious about their creators and characters. Each month authors and illustrators will give a sneak peek into their inspiration, creative choices, artwork and the story behind their stories.
The February edition will go live at 12pm on Monday the 1st of February and will feature the wonderful Amelia McInerney, Aura Parker, and myself. You can find out more here:
