Writing, Life and The End!
Okay, so I’ve been a really, REALLY slack blogger. I haven’t blogged here or on any of the blogs I’m a member of in recent months. I have excuses but they’re really just hot air and nobody wants to listen to me whine.
I will say, things ARE NOT going to get better in the near future. Why you ask? Well this time next week I’ll be in HAWAII!!! Mr.C is taking me there for a week to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our anniversary isn’t until June but we’ve timed the trip to line up with my trip to the US to attend the Romantic Times Convention in Kansas City the first week of May. The next few weeks are going to be super exciting. Not only am I off to Hawaii for the first time but I’ll be heading to LA for some R&R with Lila Dubois and Farm Boy before we all jet off for Kansas City and a week of catching up with people we only see once a year. It’ll be a blast and I’m sure I’ll need another week in Hawaii when we’re done. Sadly that’s not on the cards.
I’ve spent the last few weeks getting back in the writing seat and it’s been both frustrating and thrilling. The End is near for 7. Actually, I wrote The End already.
I just have to bridge the gap between where I left off and The End. I don’t usually skip ahead to the final scene in a story. In fact I never do because my brain tends to shut down after I write those final words and I can never get back into the story to finish the journey. This time though, Cassie and Luc insisted I get that final scene down. I’m glad they did. It’s paved the way for the bridge. Now I just have to find the time to write. The last few days have been filled with ‘real’ life and the next few are looking the same. I’m pretty sure I just need one more solid day of writing and 7 will be done and off to my editor. Then it’s time to pack!
So, anyone been to Hawaii? Care to share any must do’s with me?

What’s been going on
Things have been extremely quiet around here. Unfortunately directly after returning from out summer holiday I got sick. Turns out I had pneumonia. Seriously, not one symptom before I went down like a bag of shite! Anyway, that was two months ago. Yes TWO WHOLE MONTHS! And while I’m now well, that’s a bit of a misnomer because I’m still finding it difficult to get back into ‘normal’ life. I’m told it could take months to get completely better.
Anyway, during the last two months I’ve managed to sleep through two releases (yeah, literally slept through them), attempt to get back in the writing seat and attend a convention. I figured I’d share some pix from last weekends Australian Romance Readers Convention.

It was a great weekend and it really did boost my creative mojo so while I’ve only managed to write a few thousand words over the last few days and those have been harder than pulling teeth with tweezers *sigh* I HAVE been writing. Definitely a good sign.

An Escapade
*taken from the Escape Publishing blog*
We’ve cooked up a great idea – a way to meet Escape Artists in a fun, fresh, and – we definitely hope – flirty way.
Allow me to introduce the Escape Artists latest project – A Love Story: One man. One woman. One meet-cute. One story. One twist – no one knows what is going to happen next.
Over the next month, thirty Escape Artists will write a brand new romance story, 200 words at a time. Each author gets twenty-four hours to write 200-word segment. She only knows what’s gone on before; she has no idea what will happen next.
Starting on the 14th of February with Rhian Cahill, right here on the Escapade Blog, the story will bring together five continents, a multitude of time zones, thirty authors, and countless readers in one big, bold experiment.
Kind of like love
So, it looks like the minute I’m well enough to work I’m getting into all sorts of mischief.

Sand, Surf And Sunnie is out today!
From one bad date to two hot lovers…
Sunnie always thought she’d have the perfect normal life by now, but every guy she dates turns out to be a bigger dud than the last. It’s a shame her two best friends are off limits. Rand and Z are both perfect for her, but the three have been inseparable since childhood, and Sunnie would never be able to choose between them. And she couldn’t bear to lose the other.
When Sunnie comes storming in after another bad date, Rand can’t stay silent. All he wants to do is offer comfort, but once he begins, his desire for Sunnie explodes to the surface. And after that, it just keeps getting hotter.
Z knows the pact he and Rand made all those years ago to stay away from Sunnie has been broken. He also knows he’s not about to lose either of his best friends. So when Rand suggests the unthinkable, Z decides it might just be outrageous enough to work. But after being raised in a ménage home that ended badly, Sunnie’s not about to repeat her parents’ mistake. She wants a normal relationship, and a normal life…

Love Is In The Air Blog Hop
Mr.C and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. Early in our relationship money was tight and honestly we didn’t see the point in only celebrating our one day of the year.
But a few years ago when we lived in Singapore I entered a contest in a magazine and won a dinner for two and night at one of Singapore’s premier hotels. Kinda seemed silly to not go.
The hotel suite was huge with gorgeous views over the city skyline. The strawberries and champagne on arrival didn’t hurt either.
Then we headed down to the restaurant to indulged in a nine course meal made especially for us by the head chef. Spoiled or what! And let’s not forget about the scrumptious breakfast in bed the next morning. For never having celebrated Valentine’s Day before I think we did pretty good. We did even better when neither of us had to pay the bill.
For someone who doesn’t go in for all the hoopla of the day is seems a little strange that I would write a story around it but then again I added a little twist.
She’s done with the dating scene. He wants a lifetime of Valentine’s Dates.
Brent had his chance to be Valentine’s date and he blew it. But loving his best friend’s little sister from afar isn’t working. When she calls him in tears Brent’s only choice is to come to her rescue. And now that he’s got her safe in his arms he’s going to make sure she stays there.
It doesn’t matter how much Vee tries to convince herself her feelings for Brent were destroyed years ago. He is still the first person she calls when she needs help. Breaking down in his arms wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was kissing him.
Forced to face their past, Brent and Vee must forgive each other – and themselves – if there’s any hope for the love still burning between them.
Contest details-
Contest runs until February 14th.
So tell me, what’s the most memorable Valentine’s date you’ve ever been on? And if you can’t think of one tell me what would a date memorable? I’ll pick one commenter to receive a download of Valentine’s Dates.
