R J SCOTT'S CHRISTMAS BLOG HOP!

The uber-talented R J Scott is holding a two day Christmas Blog Hop - woo hoo! There will be tales of Christmas, good food and knowing R J, lots of wine!
She asked me for a Christmas memory and I have to admit I was hard-pressed to narrow it down. When you get to my age there are quite a few to choose from!
Then it hit me... the water butt. The upturned water butt to be precise. Would you like me to explain? Well... my mum was the second youngest in a family of thirteen children, and we used to spend Christmas at my Granddad's house. So you can imagine there were quite a few around the table. The smaller kids had a little table separate from the main dining-table and when you were old enough to join the big table (which basically meant tall enough to see the table from a normal sized chair) each one of us begged to get the quirkiest seat in the house. Granddad's giant blue upturned water butt with the cushion on the top! I hasten to add that it was emptied first!
I remember my first Christmas on the butt. I can clearly hear my mum saying now, "Look at her, she's been waiting years to get on that bloody thing. I should have just got her one of those for Christmas!" Happy memories, good times.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the holiday season. As my little gift to you, I am giving away a copy of one of my Christmas releases. All you have to do is leave a comment with your email and a winner will be picked out of the hat by my assistant (aka Gracie). Both releases are below, complete with blurbs, so don't forget to let me know which one you would prefer. Both are available from the 1 December :)
Don't forget to check out the other entries in the Hop and lovely pressies for you all to enjoy over at R J's Blog

BLURB
When his last boyfriend broke his heart and stole his life savings, Glenn figured he would be much safer if he closed the door on love and threw himself into his job as head window dresser in a large department store.
Unbeknownst to Glenn, while he continues to build a wall around his heart, his Guardian Angel is plotting to give him his happy ever after involving a mannequin and a sprig of mistletoe.

BLURB:
Isaac didn't do the cold. He didn't do singing either.
So trudging through the snow in minus temperatures, freezing his balls off to sing Fa lala to complete strangers, was not his idea of fun.
Until the tall, dark and handsome who opened the final door changed his mind.

TOO MUCH CHRISTMAS SPIRIT - RE-RELEASED 1 DECEMBER 2012

BLURB:
For one week, once a year, Adam heads back to the city to catch up with family and do a little Christmas shopping. Unfortunately for the crew who work Wolf Creek Ranch, this means the big boss, Vance, gets a might testy without his other half.
Having missed each other like crazy, Adam is looking forward to quality time with his cowboy, but gets more than he bargained for when Vance has a little surprise of his own. A surprise that involves a kitchen that looks like a war zone and an interesting use for eggnog.
TOO MUCH CHRISTMAS SPIRIT has a brand new cover by the talented Meredith Russell, and brand new home at White Stiletto Press. There's also a little something extra that wasn't in the original version. Ever wondered how Vance and Adam met? Check out the teasing taste of New York Cowboy, coming in 2013.
RE-RELEASE DATE: 1 DECEMBER 2013

UNOFFICIAL SIX

Ethan and Dan watched as the boy leaned down toward his victim, his own tears wet on his face when he pressed his lips softly to those that were now unable to return the gesture. He slowly stood and raised the knife he held in his hand and placed it to his throat. The blood spatter was immense as the knife bit into his own skin and he fell onto the lifeless body on the bed.“Holy fucking shit,” Dan breathed when the screen went blank. “What the hell was that?”“I think we just saw Travis Stockwell murder Brad Newton.”
THIS WEEK'S UNOFFICIAL SIX COMES FROM WESTFORD HALL - COMING JANUARY 2013.

Elisa's 6 year Blog Anniversary and Rainbow Awards Pre-Awards Party!
Ladies and gents, please find below all the details on how to participate in Elisa's Treasure Hunt in honour of her Blog's 6 year anniversary and the annual Rainbow Awards Pre-Awards Party!!!
There are a myriad of wonderful treasures to be found, including a copy of my own Laurel Heights. So get hunting people and join in the fun. Good luck!
So another year is gone, and my Journal is now 6 years old :-) Since end of November is also really near the time when the Rainbow Awards will wrap up nicely (on December 8th) this year I want to have a joint party! So I asked to many of the authors in this year contest to be generous and donate a book or two... and the answer was overwhelming: 243 among print and ebooks!
But this time you have to "earn" your prize and so there is a "little" treasure hunt: nothing complicated but you need to complete a chain made of Title-Word-Definition-Cover-Number. How? I will try to explain LOL
We have 243 book titles, you can find them here:
The Books: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1805679.html (mirrored here if you don't have a LJ account to comment and you are not friend on LJ: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/3359348.html)
from each title I extracted a word, but be careful, same word can match more title, BUT there is an unique matching (example, if I have two titles, Love Story and Story of Me, "story" match both title, but probably, from the first title I took "Love" and from the second I took "Story". Your job to discover the right matching ;-)). You can find the words here:
The Words: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1805826.html (mirrored here if you don't have a LJ account to comment and you are not friend on LJ: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/3359509.html)
to each word corresponds a definition. The definition refers to single word (even if the word is plural) or not conjugated verb (even if the word is a conjugated verb). You can find the definitions here:
The Definitions: http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1806109.html (mirrored here if you don't have a LJ account to comment and you are not friend on LJ: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/3359969.html)
Once you have the matching Book-Word-Definition, you need to go and search for the Cover here:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.446587205375367.103212.100000722741394&type=1&l=1a717d4880
view the right cover, on the comment section there is a comment by me (Elisa Reviews) with a link to a post on LJ (Rainbow Awards: Current Submissions). Open the link and see what number was assigned to that book in that post.
Comment on THIS post (http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1806591.html mirrored here if you don't have a LJ account to comment and you are not friend on LJ: http://reviews-and-ramblings.dreamwidth.org/3360138.html), sending me: Book Title-Word-Definition-Number. You can pick one book per day, if tomorrow there will be still available book, I will assign them. So you can send me more matching but first in-first out, you will win the first right matching still available book.
Exception, for the Book marked as New there is no Cover/Number, so once you have the matching Book Title-Word-Definition, you can leave the comment.
And now, lets the party start! Enjoy and good luck with your hunt!

Silver: December Promo Scavenger Hunt With Free Holiday Story Book Give Away and Site Wide Discount Code Scramble

News from Silver Publishing
Happy holidays! Silver Publishing wants to give our fans more than 60 chances to win either a free
Holiday Story from our 25 Days of Christmas Releases or for a lucky random five 20% off codes!
And if you are really dedicated there is a Word Scramble included that will provide a discount for
titles purchased during the last week of December!
To make it even more exciting, the authors participating may offer new and interesting content or
contests of their own to help distract from the frantic pace of the holidays.
So, how does it work?
In a nutshell: Find all the snowflakes every day, email us at promotions@spsilverpublishing.com
with the author name/date for each snowflake you find, check our blog daily to see if you won and
then use the pertinent snowflakes to spell out an additional discount code to use at the end of the month.
[image error] Example ImageNot in a nutshell: Participants go to the following blogs every day in
December and find the hidden snowflakes. There will be at least two,
sometimes three snowflakes to be found among the list of facebook/blogs/websites
below for our authors. The snowflake will look like a variation of the image to
the left
Find them all for the maximum amount of chances to win.
Once you find the snowflake, note the letter, number or character as well as
the numerical indicator (if present) on the snowflake for the scramble.
The numbered snowflakes will line up to spell out your discount code.
Email us at promotions@silverpublishing.com with the name of the blog/website where the snowflakes
were hidden on that date.
for maximum chances to win, each snowflake/author found should be its own email for an increased
daily chance to win.
If your email subject line includes the correct answer you will be entered into a random drawing to win
the Christmas Release for the day you found the snowflake. There will be at least 2 winners per day;
five days there will be 3 winners.
Winners will be notified in our new BLOG here: http://bit.ly/Wi7uyq = (bookmark this link so that you
can check back each day.) If you are the winner for that day, email us with your email address and
format desired to promotions@silverpublishing.com so that we can get your prize to you quickly.
Helpful hints: Some authors will have more than one snowflake during the event. But authors will only
post one snowflake per day so search them all every day. Don’t leave any out for maximum chances
to win.
Once you have found all the snowflakes, line up the letters, characters and numbers based on the
numerical indicator (when present) to spell out our Holiday message and receive a discount code that
will be active from Dec 25 – 31st.
Not every participating author has a Holiday release but you’ll want to collect the snowflake on their
site for another chance to win the story being released that day. And…they might have one of the five
valuable discount snowflakes we’ve hidden with your chance to win that day.
If the authors are running additional contests, take advantage for additional ways to win
throughout the month.
Here is your list and GOOD LUCK!

WANT SOME SUMMER HEAT?
I have two signed copies of Summer Heat to giveaway!
All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what memories are sparked for you when you hear thunder. Then one of my assistants (okay, my children) will pick two names out of the hat (okay, my hand!) on Sunday 26 November. Good luck! And don't forget to leave your email addy!
BLURB:After a car accident which left him scarred and his best friend dead, Mitch Spencer retreats to his family’s vacation home to heal. He has no idea the turn his life is about to take when there’s a knock at the door.
Kade Lewis is good at one thing, and one thing only, theft. The Spencer house was supposed to be empty so now he needs to rethink his game plan. After years of keeping others out, it’s Mother Nature herself who throws an unexpected obstacle in his way; in the shape of Mitch Spencer.
Forced to spend time together when they’re cut off by flash floods, will the two men be able to vanquish their inner demons and find each other? Or will their pasts be too much to overcome?

WHO'S THERE?

I couldn't even hazard a guess as to how long we spend each day on the broadband highway. I would imagine it's different for everyone. Minutes? Hours? I couldn't even tell you how long I spend on in front of the PC and I watch me do it, lol.

Being of a somewhat naturally cynical and self-deprecating mind set, my first impressions usually work for me. But how can our instincts protect us when we're sat behind the keyboard? If someone creates an easy going, sweet persona, how can we disbelieve it? I suppose we can only tell when something happens to crack the rose coloured glasses we're wearing.
It's easy to hide behind a facade you have created to convince people you're not. It's not so easy to convince them face to face when the illusion is shattered. My conscience is clear... is yours?
