The Big Stinky City Released Today

The Kindle version of The Big Stinky City went "live" this morning on Amazon. Hopefully, I will have the paperback version ready in a few weeks. I am waiting on the graphic designer to complete the cover design. When I do and it is ready, I will have another give away. But for now, if you have a Kindle or know somebody who enjoys middle grade books - please pass the word along that the Kindle edition is ready.

Thanks so much,

jason

New Middle Grade Book to be Released Tonight

Well, the wait is finally over and it was worth my patience. All the pieces have finally come together to publish my new middle grade novel. I am going to publish the e-book version of The Big Stinky City tonight, so it will probably be "live" in the middle of the night. The final piece, the cover art, came in this morning and I couldn't be more pleased. Once again, Josh Merriam, over at Merriam Creative did a fantastic job. I also want to thank my aunt and wonderful editor, Monique Krulick. I have never felt better about a finished product than I do about this one. I also want to thank everybody else who helped me in numerous ways including my wife for giving me the time needed, my two children for understanding my writing nights, and my parents for their never-ending support. As they say, "It takes a village."

I Know Whodunit!

Who would have thought that whodunit is really a word? I just looked on Wikipedia to see, and it has its own page.
Well, I am about a third of the way finished writing the sequel to Birdsongs and I finally figured out whodunit in the book. I thought I knew previously who the killer was, but I was not very excited with my idea and thought it would be too easy to figure out. The other night as I was writing it came to me.
The coolest thing about this is that my previous writing in the novel will not give it away since I didn’t even know! How cool is that?
I have set a deadline for the end of August to finish the book and this new idea will be a great motivating factor in getting my work accomplished. I am also toying with changing the name to Pushed to Death. I guess I have plenty of time to make that decision.

A whodunit or whodunnit (for "Who done [did] it?") is a complex, plot-driven variety of the detective story in which the puzzle is the main feature of interest. The reader or viewer is provided with clues from which the identity of the perpetrator of the crime may be deduced before the solution is revealed in the final pages of the book. The investigation is usually conducted by an eccentric amateur or semi-professional detective.
