NOW Magazine
In 2003, I moved to Toronto from Edmonton to be an artist. It was an audacious choice for a brown, queer, barely 20-something to do–to choose a path of the arts, in a city where I knew no one.
But moving was also the only choice. Like so many, I sought the safety and anonymity of the big city.
It turns out that moving here, on the best of days, has allowed me to be myself.
Thank you Toronto. Thank you NOW Toronto.
