Fair to Flair: A beautiful neighborhood
The first Fair to Flair Quarterly is available for pre-order. As you might expect, we want you to buy it.
We really would. Jason goes over every article and makes a compelling case. Plus, he just bought a subscription, and he's the founder! You should too!

I scanned this image from Artnews because I couldn't find a good enough one online. I've stared at this image for over an hour, and can't get over the brute force of the idea. It's a lot larger than just this image, too. From Oleg Kulik's Wiki:
For his performances, Kulik creates a symbolic set of parameters to define the environment which he will inhabit in the persona of a dog, and then devises a series of actions that unfold as a response. The artist describes the dialogue within his practice as "a conscious falling out of the human horizon" which places him on hands and knees. His intention is to describe what he sees as a crisis of contemporary culture, a result of an overly refined cultural language which creates barriers between individuals. Thus, he simplifies his performance language to the basic emotional vocabulary of a domestic animal.
Naked, dirty, chained, and aggressive, Oleg's art is immersive, shocking, and in some cases very violent.
Life is never so bleak…

Fair to Flair: A better ratings system
So now that I've decided to propose a new system, what challenges does that entail? Well, for one, stars are simple. People think they understand stars, even if they really don't, as they can easily mean one thing to the reviewer and another to the reader. If I'm going to change the way we do things, I have to improve the system in such a massive and obvious way that it would become ludicrous not to move to the new approach.
Thankfully, the star-rating system is so broken that it shouldn't be too hard.
This is going to be my last major wrestling argument for a while. You'll still see stuff from me, but every now and then I need to recharge the batteries. Hopefully it'll give people lots to think about. Also, there's a pretty active discussion against my argument over on Pulse Wrestling, where you can read all three essays in one post.
