Upcoming Star Wars projects

I remember as a kid in 1994 getting “Star Wars A Crystal Star” and loving it at the time. Then I devoured many Star Wars lore through middle and high school. That’s one reason I loved the Star Wars trilogy so much because unlike Star Trek it was just the three movies and if you wanted to see more you’d read books or comics. But now we have both series and movies for the Star Wars universe. Some good, Some ok. I have seen “Rise of Skywalker” twice and have to say I loved it. It had good action, good story, now things make sense with Rey. I only have a few minor complaints and if you want to see that. Click the link below if you’ve seen the movie.

Spoilers

on with what’s to come:

Kenobi TV Series:

Details of this are still sketchy but we cannot wait to see this. We already saw some of it in “Rebels” When Obi-Wan killed Darth Maul on Tattoine. According to radargames.com there has been some rewrites to the script but other than that not much is known.  McGregor said in an interview. “They’re still shooting towards having the film [show] release when it was going to be originally.” Quote from “Newsweek Star Wars”

Cassian Andor Rogue One Spin-off series :

A new beloved character will make his return when Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor from Rogue One gets his own prequel series on Disney+ Alan Tudyk will also return as the droid K-250. The new series will be “a rousing spy thriller.”

A Kevin Fieige Film :

Details of this is still mysterious but lets just hope they have nothing with time-travel in it.

Star Wars: Detours: (Rumored)

This series is co-created by Robot Chicken’s Seth Green and has 39 completed episodes. The animated series offers a comedic take on the Star Wars films. But this misfit comedy might finally have a chance at Disney+

I haven’t seen “The Mandalorian” yet but I there’s suppose to be a second season coming this November. I’m sure there’s so much more to come. We just have to wait. Patience, young Padawan”

ROS spoilers

My only complaint about ROS is when Chewbacca gets killed, they instantly show he’s alive in the next scene. What? They don’t give the viewer time to mourn A lot of videos on YouTub are claiming that the paced was too fast. That’s what an action-packed movie is. Even the originals didn’t have a lot of downtime. Maybe ROJ had more at Ewoks festive, I don’t know. Oh, and with Palpatine coming back. He’s always coming back in the books and comics as a clone. Just wish they would have explained that. I understand the dvd has no deleted scenes and I hear there was a lot. In fact, this movie was supposed to be three hours. Maybe someday we’ll get it though with an extended cut like we got “Lord of the Rings”

Funny videos

Hi, how’s everyone doing out there? Well, here we are, many of us stuck inside, spending time with family, you remember them, right? Watching Netflix, hulu, Disney Plus, Apple, or maybe binge watching all four. That’s a lot of TV. Me, I’ve finally watched “The Dark Crystal” series on Netflix. Wow, it is so awesome, just like the movie from the ’80s. Their blood looks like pepmobismo though. Working on next book cover in my trilogy “The Chronicle Gate” and writing the ending of the sequal to “The Lost Angels”

Instead of an article though I’d thought I’d post some funny videos of how people are spending their time to give you a laugh. Enjoy!

“I’ve always had a bared”

LoL

I hope these made you laugh. We’ll get through this together and beat it. “Do it”

sequel update: CGvol 2 and The Lost Angels II

Hello FOF, so after a year of sending chapters to my writers group and editing every weekend and nights after work, (when I’m not too tired) I’m happy to say that “Chronicle Gate Vol 2: Alphine” is revised. Now I’m going through it again though and tweaking it more though. Because there’s always tweaking. Just like building a house, there’s always more to do on it after it’s built. I will be sending the whole manuscript to my wg so they can read it as a book should be read. Just to give you a taste, Taylinn and Sinya set off into space across the galaxy and across time to search for Taylinn’s dad. Their friends will also be joining them and two mysterious pair of figures help them find out some secrets that Taylinn’s dad has been keeping!

I’ve also been writing “The Lost Angels II” I’m on ch. 25 as I write this. I’ll give you a clue. A spiritual force is after Rachel’s kids, but it’s not demons. It’s Angels! Meanwhile Lisa learns about the truth about the Eternal Angel!

I wish everyone well and read the first of both novels so you can be ready for the sequels! “The Chronicle Gate vol 2: Alphine” should be out sometime this year.

Tales of the Magic Ring

“There are many magic rings” — Gandalf

Rings can be many things. It can be a symbol of love, a promise made by someone. In some tales though, it can also have magic properties to turn the user invisible like in many tales such as with The Ring of Power from “Lord of the Rings.” Some rings can emit beams and form shapes like in ‘The Green Lantern’ comics or like in my own novel ‘The Chronicle Gate’ or create swords out of beams like in ‘Spaceballs’ such a great movie by the way.

There are also rings that can take you to another realm like ‘The Chronicle of Narnia: The Magicians Nephew’ when Digory and Polly went to Narnia. It’s been a while since I read that one. While others can manipulate the weather and summon super beings like the Planeteers in ‘Captain Planet’ while others are cursed just like in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Dumbledore thought he could destroy it but it left his hand dying, causing his body to die within a year.

I understand that even video games can’t escape the power of the magic ring such as Final Fantasy. Stories of magic rings go way back to even Shakespeare in ‘A Midsummer Tempest,’ from which Titania give two characters magical rings that will aid them as long as they are true to each other. Earliest stories of the ring of power, according to legend, was owned by King Solomon, the great and wise King of Israel. Legend says that he used it when he was building the Temple of Jerusalem in order to gain power over the demons who tried to destroy it. Belief in this may date back to the 300s A.D or earlier.

Have you ever wondered why magicians use the rings in the show? It is said Wizards used to be the only ones to use magic rings. No humans and no Hobbits. The ring is an eternal object, rounded, meaning there is no beginning and there is no ending. Who would have thought such a simple object can hold great meaning to different people. Marriage, engagement, promise, and anniversaries. But unlike in ‘Lord of the Rings’ there is no One Ring of power.

Prequals, sequels, remakes, and reboots: What happened to original stories?

Holly smokes! I love going to the movies and seeing great stories on the screen, but it seemed all year there was either a remake, ‘Aladdin’, a sequel, ‘Toy Story 4’, a reboot, ‘The Lion King’, or a prequel, ‘The Joker.’

These movies have all been done before, short of ‘Toy Story 4’ and ‘The Joker.’ Phoenix did a remarkable job and the story was well done, now we know there’s a reason for the way Joker is, but I thought we’ve seen his origin story in ‘Suicide Squad’, and we saw it in Tim Burtons ‘Batman’. How many origin stories do we have to see? But of course, if studios are looking at the comics for inspiration, I believe I heard the Joker doesn’t even know his origin story anymore. He gives many accounts, kind of what he did in ‘The Dark Knight.’

Now ‘Aladdin’ the live action movie had little twists and turns to it and added some character depth and a new character. Genie and Jasmin’s handmaiden flirts with each other. And Jasmin wants to be Sultan. Much like in ‘Beauty and The Beast’ these side stories gave it more depth.

Now for ‘The Lion King,’ there were times it felt like Disney just took a Discovery Channel animal show and dubbed the animated movie on top. I was hoping for something new like it would have been great to see Sarabi and the lioness make a plan to try and overthrow Scare. Oh and the other problem is they sing “Can you feel the Love Tonight” in the afternoon. It wasn’t even dusk. Good time to go to the bathroom.

But my intend isn’t to put down Disney. I love their movies and they have great stories. It’s other movie studios that also suffers from lack of originality. I saw a trailer for Rambo Last Blood. And another Top Gun movie is coming out. Do we need movies to continue from the 80’s and 90’s? I also just heard their making another Matrix movie. Matrix was a great trilogy with a solid ending. What else could they say about it or are is it a reboot also?

Maybe studios are just in a slump and not sure where to go for stories. Seems that all the original stories are going to the small screen like Netflex, Amazon, Hulu. Some even come from books like ‘Bird Box’ or ‘13 reasons’ or something new all together like ‘Stranger Things.’ But I get it. Studios go the route of remakes because the market is already there from ten or twenty years ago. Our minds go back to what we’ve seen before when a familiar tittle shows up. The characters are the same. The actions the same. Even the music sometimes. I was listening to “Hans Zimmer Live” and when I heard The Avatar music I knew exactly where it was placed in the movie.

I’d love to see more original stories on the big screen again though, even some books we’ve never seen before like Terry Brooks ‘Magic Kingdom of Landover’ series or ‘Kirk’ by Carol Beer, or ‘Agent Mirror’ series by Jayel Gibson. I just got into the ‘Fableheave’ series. Wow. That be good too. I know there’s some great movies coming out that are based on books that look pretty good but a lot of them are coming to an app near you, not a theater. You think it’s time for more original stories on the big screen again? Are you getting tired of remakes and reboots and ready for something totally new and fresh?

Note : I didn’t say anything about Toy Story 4′ because I haven’t seen it yet but I hear only good things.

Leave a Review of my book “The Lost Angels” and update

Hello, so I am to the point right now trying to figure out how to gain reviews and grow my readership so I can start placing ad’s and gain some more traction. I’m also half way through with book 2 of “The Chronicle Gate” The first book can be found here both ebook and print . And I’m slowly working on the sequel to “The Lost Angels.”

If you’ve read this and hadn’t left a review it would be much appreciated if you would so other readers can find it. It also helps to grow my readership.  You can leave stars if you don’t wish to write anything. Thank you so much.

Books of the 90’s

I don’t know about you, but I remember fondly of ordering stacks of books from school through a catalog or being read to in class. This how I discovered great classics such as:

Wind and the Willow (1908)

Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing (72)

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH (71)

Nate the Great (86)

BFG (82)

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wordrobe (50)

The Whipping Boy (87)

Frog and Toad’s adventures (70)

And so many more I can’t even name including ‘Watership Down’ (72) and ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’(60) in High school and I also remember reading ‘Flowers for Algernon’(59) in middle school which was a short story first than became a novel in 1966. I also was a big fan of ‘Goosebumps’ (92) that series really took off. Would you believe it was originally intended for girl’s but boys and girls both loved them. (R.L. Stine was at wordstock one year and the line was insane) Another series of books that took off I read here and there is ‘Animorphs’ (96) Other than that I have found memories of reading everything Star Wars in high school.  “Power of the 90s” My first Star Wars book I read was ‘The Crystal Star’ (94). Awwww the memories of books of the 90’s. Soon I’ll release my own MG book entitled ‘The Chronicle Gate” and maybe kids today will look back on it as one of those that they loved growing up. I also found a list of top 90 books. Some I remember, some I don’t.

books every 90’s kids will love

I hope you enjoyed the memories. And I’ll see you next time Friends of Fantasy!

My Synpsis and Ch. 1 of new book “The Chronicle Gate” Vol 1.
