Doom and Gloom and Turnovers
Life is meaningless and full of pain.
Ever since I got home from New York City, I have been meaning to post about the great games the Jets and Giants played last weekend. But there was so much else to catch up on, and only so many hours in the day, and I never got around to it.
And after the two games I saw today, it would seem kind of pointless. Neither of the New York teams bothered to show up today. Sad, depressing, gutless performances. I can't believe are really the same teams I watched last week, and the week before.
Next week they play each other. One will win and one will lose, but at this point I hardly think it matters. I don't think either the Giants or the Jets are going to the playoffs. And if next week's winner does sneak in, I fear it will be one and done.
Ah, football. It will break your heart.

Stud of the Year
And speaking of awards and honors and such, Peter Dinklage has another laurel to go with his Emmy and Scream Awards. GQ has named him "Stud of the Year."
Congratulations to Peter. For more details, check out the GQ website:
http://www.gq.com/moty/2011/peter-dinklage-gq-men-of-the-year-issue
I am sure Tyrion would be delighted for him.
((As magazine awards go, GQ clearly beats the Locus Awards, I must say))

New Teaser
HBO rolled out a new teaser for the second season of GAME OF THRONES night before last, just before the season finale of BOARDWALK EMPIRE.
In case you missed it -- (as I did, watching the exciting finish of the Giants victory over the Cowboys) -- here you go:
The voiceover is by Stephen Dillane, who will be portraying Stannis Baratheon.

Home Again
Back home again. Returned from New York/ New Jersey yesterday.
It was a great trip, and an eventful one. More on all that shortly.
Oh, and for those still looking for autographed books... I hit the big B&N on Fifth Avenue and signed their stock of A DANCE WITH DRAGONS and other titles before leaving town. So that's three locations in NYC that should have signed copies for the holidays. For as long as the supply lasts.
