Sue Maynard was born and raised in the rural Canadian village of Creemore, ON (yes, like the beer), but currently hangs her hat in the much bigger metropolis of Mordor...er...Toronto. She is a proud Browncoat, a horror geek girl, and an overall sci fi nerd. In addition to writing, Sue is a total freak for movies, books, video games, comicons, llamas, paperdolls, shiny things, Coke Zero, and her cat.

Carving the Light is Sue's first novel, originally written for the 2009 NaNoWriMo challenge, which marked both her first year as a NaNo participant, and her first recorded 'win'. Today I submitted a proposal to adapt one of my unpublished novels into a television series. It wasn't done with the intention of getting anywhere with it, but rather for the experience of writing a proposal, and eventually learning to craft a pitch.
