Now on Wattpad

I recently joined Wattpad, a site where writers post their work for free.  I decided to start small and post one of my short stories from our recent anthology, Somewhere in the Middle of Eternity. The story is "Don't Go Fussin' Over Me".

Everyone else might think that Mona Bretton is nearing the end of her life, but Mona will have none of it—even when family members begin showing up to ease her passage to the other side…

About This Writing Stuff

This week, emerging speculative fiction author and writing instructor, Michael Critzer, stresses the importance of appreciating the writing style and technique that makes that story you're reading so good.  Paul Sawers and Porter Anderson talk about the benefits and drawbacks to "writing communities", sparked by the release of social media writing app, Tablo.

The Paris Review releases an unpublished essay from Ray Bradbury, while Tess Gerritsen speaks out about her lawsuit over Gravity, the film based on her novel.  Simon & Schuster opens a non-fiction multimedia imprint called North Star Way.   From the Kill Zone, Joe Hartlaub ponders extravagant methods of book promotion, on Writer Unboxed, David Corbett suggests that we reach beyond archetypes to make characters more human, and the Sarcastic Muse's Chris Musgrave discusses outlining.

All that and a little more... Enjoy!
