The Humanity+Plus Summit

*Lemme know if you leave the premises posthuman.

Organized by Humanity Plus

Humanity will be radically changed by technology in the (possibly quite near) future.

Francesco Tristano and Carl Craig

*They're in town here in Torino during Share Festival. Check out this Tristano guy, a classical pianist, bangin' out those Carl Craig Detroit-Techno loops on an analog musical instrument.

*I saw Craig speaking today and he remarked "We're all sound designers now."

Bits 'N' Pieces: Design in a Post-Digital Era

*I dunno if "post-digital" is exactly the best term of art, but we're seeing more and more of this activity where the artist / designer / builder seems to be declaring "look at me getting kinda fed up with staring into this screen." The Great Estonian Novel has not yet been written

*Nobody can fret over literature like Europeans. I defy you to find a single article among the many in here where any European litterateur is having a good time.

http://www.eurozine.com/comp/literaryperspectives.html

*Surely SOMEBODY is gonna really worry about that Estonian problem…. Yeah, three hundred guys:

"…the debate was more telling than that. First, it attested to the fact that the authority of the Estonian Writers' Union is still intact. Literary life in Estonia revolves around this o...

Watch the planet's bloggers briskly suppressed in near real-time

*I see that American steampunk enemy-of-the-state "Dr. Calamity" made the cut.

The Top 20 Most Powerless People in the Art World

*Oh, why stop there, you big snarky cynics: in the contemporary art world, EVERYBODY is powerless.

http://hyperallergic.com/711/powerless-20/

A few weeks ago Art Review announced the Top 100 power brokers in the art world but we thought they missed the real story. So Hyperallergic has released its own list of the people who have never received their moment in the sun.

We present "The Top 20 Most Powerless People in the Art World!"

1 – Everyone entirely unknown to Hans Ulrich Obrist – If the...
